I thought she will like the drama since its kind of refreshing from other XianXia dramas out there. She made a video on the problematic things she found in XianXia dramas but this drama kind of doing the opposite things from the normal XianXia out there: 1. For started, like she mentioned, the colorful costumes. 2. The role of FL in The Blue Whisper is usually being played by the ML usually in other XianXia dramas -- protective, etc.. 3. This time, it was the ML who is pure, naive & innocent. 4. The FL rise through ranks due to her own ability instead of birth right. 5. Duty over love. For the first time, the leads are an actual responsible individual who actually care about other people's lives as in no innocent person die for their love lol 6. Noble idiocy are being pointed out as a 'problematic behaviors' instead being passed as an acceptable thing to do. 7. They both saves each other equally so it wasnt just the case of saving damsel in distress ALWAYS. Because of all these refreshing part of this drama, I found it highly enjoyable. I was like finally!!!! They correct all the things that I didnt like in XianXia drama in general.
Avenuex is really conflicting on her reviews, she criticized a series for one thing and completely ignored it for another. So you cannot guess what she really felt. Even she tried to be technical and unbiased but her reviews are actually very biased. 😂. I really did not agree with a lot of her reviews and already did not use them as a guide for watching good series.
@@destinychicshop3206 I know. I find her rants interesting but the lack of consistencies made me feel that I cant really take her reviews seriously. She complaint and spent like 20 minutes on why she didnt like XianXia dramas then 1 drama that didnt follow any were overlooked and the review was focused on something that werent remotely distracting at all. I know people cant help but to be biased but as a reviewer, she doesnt have to be so obvious that I can catch it despite I only watch a few of her videos.
I really love the english title The Blue Whisper much more than the original chinese version. It's pretty different from a long long list of Love, Destiny, Eternal for xianxia drama. And it has a sense of mysterious ocean
The Blue Whisper is definitely better than the other 3 fantasy dramas. I agree with you that the script limits the lead actors, because Ji Yun He's character has to plot and scheme almost every relationship she has in the valley to survive to the point of using Chang Yi. So her feelings for him are mainly guilt and pity or the liking of a pet, not love. Chang Yi is naively experiencing his first human friendship which is all fake, and he doesn't know how to express his affections according to the human world, so he just experiments. I find the complicated relationship interesting and look forward to how Ji Yun He and Chang Yi's characters grow. I actually like how The Blue Whisper is not like most fantasy drama plots that gets boring. Though the chemistry is slow to build, the plot is rather fast paced with so far good character development. I like it.
@@angelasoWA Hahahahah I dropped Legend Of Fei At episode 4. I tired watching it again, at least 3 times , but I hever finished it. I will try again one day, I think. Lol
@@Totoroskdramas Oh yes! I got the same feeling after finishing the entire drama. Season 2 was even better than season 1! I love the character development, not just the leads but the supporting characters as well.
I love how the drama explore that in the end, she truly falls for him due to his innocent way of looking at the world. The merman clan really had profound outlooks in life that I find totally admirable. With that, she is willing to protect him and his views even at the cost of her life.
I came into this drama blind. I had never seen the ML lead. Ive loved everything Ive watched with Dilireba. I never saw any of the trailers or anything for this. I saw it on VIKI and said hmm I'll take a chance. So glad I did. I really enjoyed this one. I'm somewhat new to Cdramas. I watch a ton of Kdrama and come to Cdrama for the fantasy dramas.
You’re killing me!!! The curtain reference cracked me up! I don’t always agree with you but your take on a drama makes me laugh. Thanks and keep doing you AX. Stay safe💃🏽
The blue whisper 💙 is awesome and worth watching. Great acting by Dilraba and Ren Jialun. I have watched it raw 9 episodes without eng subs and I m totally hooked. I love Dilraba and Ren Jialun's acting. Though I don't understand chinese but I can connect with the drama as I have read the novel twice. We international fana are eagerly waiting for it's release with eng subs.
You right...Reba should not dubbing her voice...her voice is sooo beautiful to hear...how she give the line...how she emotionally view it to the viewer....I as a viewer received it emotionally too..that why I become her fan...I also like how she view her line in love designer...I love it sooo much😍😍😍
"Leading roles looking white as though they have robbed a curtain shop??🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣" This caught me. Blue whisper currently is my top 3 of the year, And I'm annoyed that the subs are not out international fans
I have watched this drama 9 eoisodes raw without eng subs and now waiting for eng subs. For me the dram is very good. In fact everything about the drama is awesome. Great acting by Dilraba and Ren Jialun. No any other actor/ actress can be imagined except Dilraba n Ren Jialun to play the role of Ji Yunhe n Chang Yi. Great acting by other supporting cast. Highly recommended. I m eagerly waiting to watch it with eng subs. Hope it is released soon with eng subs.
Oh my, you have unleashed some really memorable quotes. Regarding the typical all white costumes of this genre, "It looks like they went out and robbed a curtain store!" I'm dying. I guess white curtains don't come in shark demon sizes, so that's a plus. As far as cheap, shabby sets, nothing sinks below "Legend of Fei" but one never knows. I like both lead actors so I will probably check this out at some point, but with tempered expectations. Thanks!
I think I started watching Ave BECAUSE of her memorable quotes😂, she is not the RUclipsr to watch while eating or drinking unless your keyboard is protected against mouth spray . She is honest and made me look at Drama/productions differently no matter where they are made. I've learned a lot from her.Which opened the door for me to learn a lot from other reviewers of many things, her criticism is never a blind attack, if something is wrong or off and she notices it, she is honestly going to point it out and that's important.
Oh I see. I don't know much about Cdrama level of production. I thought S+ was the whole production quality from sets, actors, well known producers and directors.
I followed LoF and they filmed that on the very first year Covid-19 actually happened and was really bad they even have to stopped filming for a while so I understand the fake set but u don’t have to bash LoF do ur hw before saying something u may not enjoy it but to others they do
As a person who never bothers to watch this genre, it is actually somewhat intriging for me. I mean I tried last year's Zhou DongYu and Xukai led 千古玦尘, it was a meh for me. I am just surprised that I followed through the latest episode of 与君初相识.( but 千古玦尘 still has better CGI/Set for me) It is not the best drama I've seen, but it's a good introduction to this genre.
About Dilraba not dubbing herself, I was so sad about it. Qiu Shiyu is definitely a subpar dubber, but I've heard that productions don't let actors some of the actors dub because it'll be more expensive for the production.
I understand where you are coming from. From your reviews in the past I can pretty much tell what type of shows appeal to you. Thank you for the review.
I loved this drama a lot… I also watched the other merfolk drama and seeked this one out because I liked the merfolk setting. This one is actually a lot better, the story writing and pacing are all superb. I glanced at the original novel and it seems they changed a bunch of stuff but I think the changes all make sense and make the story fit even better. I actually didn’t like Ren at first but the first couple episodes really sold me, he’s really good at the innocent merman role. And I was so excited that the female lead is so strong and capable while male lead was just cutesy and like a pet (at the beginning)… although he become almost typical domineering male lead in the middle I liked that after the female lead had her powers back she still was the badass girl she was in the beginning. I really enjoyed that. I guess everyone who watches focuses on different things because you didn’t mention this in your review at all. I loved the cgi too… I think it’s really really good esp compared to what I thought cdrama cgi was like. The merman tail is magnificent on the big screen! One thing I didn’t like though is that almost everyone was motivated by the same romance love… I feel like there could be more variety esp since they were trying to save the world
Tbh, i was a bit wary after watching the trailer but i was pleasantly surprised and quiet enjoyed it. I didn't expect the CGI to be so well done, the scenes esp the valley look quiet beautiful imo. I especially like the action scenes , when they collectively cast the spell was so cool to look at. It did look like they put some work in it therefore the final result look very exciting. The costumes sometimes look questionable and unoriginal but it didn't bother me much. As for characters, i like that everyone is multi dimensional and has depth in their story, none is overly stupid or purely evil. I'm drawn to the female lead and her yearn for freedom more than everything. She's smart, knows how to stand for a fight and protective towards whom she cares for. Interestingly I find her relationship with her 'senior brother'more compelling atm. He's another very attractive character i must say. Apparently in the novel his feeling towards the female lead wasn't depicted clearly but in the dramatization much more. The actor really did a fantastic job in portraying his emotions through his eyes , all that restreint, harsh words and cruelty but still caring deep inside, yet nobody knows. ahh i really dig this type of character. That's not to say the male lead is without charm. Even without dialogue in first few eps, i still fell for the Big tail fish out of water lol Changyi is just so cuteee. his innocent and simplicity really makes him stand out from the typical male leads, well that is until later when doom happens.. anyway, i like how their relationship develops, how Yunhe from only wanting to 'deceive'to actually care and even willing to let go of her goal for him, and vice versa how he sacrificed to be with her. Although at this point i don't feel that kind of chemistry between them yet, it's sweet and all but i need more? Still the story moves quiet fast pace, plus after seeing the MV and the scenes from 2nd part are quiet promising. with all that angst coming, it'll hurt so good >< And hopefully youku will put it on yt with eng sub for int fans soon!
Even I didn't feel 'that' kind of chemistry from the leads but for me that's because of the issue with the subs. I'm sure we'll find that kind of chemistry too!
I too did not feel any chemistry between the two main leads. I'm actually not a fan of the actor, Allen Ren (big tail fish). I never found him attractive or charming. He has on way too much make up in this show.. He always looks angry or upset. No hate towards him though. BTW, maybe the lack of chemistry is because the actor is married in real life? Chen Xiao is married to but he had great chemistry with Liu YiFei in A Dream of Splendor. I really like female lead's complex relationship with senior brother. It seems they were best friends at a young age, he must have loved her too. His father used magic and forced her hand pushing him in a pit full of snakes. Ever since then, they became enemies. Although he looks like he wants to kill her, he deeply cares for her. My boy saved her at least 2-3 times already. I know they won't end up together but I would like to see more of this ship. :)
Overall, having watched up to the most recent episode 14, I'm really liking the drama. I still agree with the points AX has made. "Her Mercury must be really, really strong in her chart". I didn't expect that...lol. Come to think of it, it is a shame Dilireba was dubbed again. She has a naturally deep voice with precise enunciation; it would've made a great fit for her role as a trainer. As to sets, I grew up watching Hong Kong dramas, anything is an improvement on those levels of set-fakery. Lol...Burger King acting. While I can see that, I also think there is a nuance of difference. It looks like Dilireba is emoting in a more relaxed manner that lends to an air of confidence. We need to be convinced why the wildest of beasts falls under her spell; and Yun He is meant to be able to do that with confidence and charm. Dilireba executes the charm down pat but what she adds this time is the confidence. The scene when Yun He kneels down and welcomes Chang Yi with that smile and twinkle in her eye, illustrates most what she is capable of: "I've got this and I've got you". I like this drama though because I see it as one of moral conflict. Yun He undergoes more complex internal conflict than Dilireba's prior characters I reckon. Yun He is close to being an anti-heroine; she recognises the clear wrong in deliberate, psychological manipulation, hence the moral struggle. I think what happens is that she truly does give her heart in all her manipulations, so that she gets burned by the process as much as those she 'breaks' during the training. It stands to reason why she would want freedom from this type of life. I think the romance is the straw that breaks the camel's back, the line that Yun He cannot cross. Because love makes things as personal as it gets. If she loves Chang Yi that much, betraying him would be the greatest betrayal of herself. You can't walk away from that and remain with a clear conscience. The choices that she makes and the consequences she willingly accepts is what I find interesting so far in the drama.
I agree with you, I think the relationship between Yunhe and Changyi develops relatively slower than other couples in fantasy dramas, and therefore makes more sense. But gosh, I lost count on how many times I rolled my eyes while reading the novel because the amount of misunderstandings between them (especially the later part) is unbearable. Hopefully the drama executes it better
I love this novel so much!, it is one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever read. I personally love their relationship described in the novel. I'm waiting for English subtitles, can't wait to watch the series!
09:08 actually the source novel is also very popular and has a fan following of its own, so I'm sure they would've tuned in even if the leads were played by other actors.
Actually, I didn't even surprise by this FI considering your attitude toward this type of dramas xD. So considering also how you are not in this type of drama anymore I think overall this review is already good xD.
I've watched 4 episodes but it's hard to tell for an inter fan like me without any proper sub. Though I'm more inclined to suspense dramas like Reset, it doesn't seem so bad for this type of genre. I'm yet to see onscreen cp chemistry so far.
Rest was the DOPEST Series I've seen outta China THIS Year. I'm kinda tired of all that Lovey-Dovey crap too. I get enough of that here in the U.S. I'm actually looking for other Series with a good PLOT and Storylines that are JUST AS GOOD as Reset.
I agree. Most actors can show anger bring on the tears etc. There are very few actors who can create a character where you don’t see the actor but the character.
Yes I really look forward this dra from first announced, curious about Dilraba and Ren jia lun world together, and it's great, love how the story up until now, they do put some efforts on the story, it's recomended to watch 😘😘
"robbed a curtain shop", that made me rolled over in my seat! LOL!!!!!! But I love the outfits in this series, I think they're very unique. I agree, i don't like them dubbing Reba, they need to let her use her voice. I also agree, I had high expectations for Reba and Jialun, but their acting is the same to me as all their other projects. Nothing really stood out, at least so far. But oddly, I'm enjoying this series. hahahaha....
Thank you for the review AvenueX. Am gonna make an explanation video of ep 1 because the available subs are auto-generated and it'll be hard for international fans to understand.
I haven't seen any of 2mains drama so i can't compare then to their other ones. I dont usually like romance drama but I still gave this a shot cus of Xiao Shunyao(Lin Hao Qing) and now im invested to know how his character's storyline develops.
I only skimmed an episode the other day, because the subtitle upload is very slow. I've only found a version today. I love the look of it at least. Of course, as a non Chinese speaker, accents don't affect me so I would like to have heard the actor's original voices, but I can understand how that may annoy folks who do speak the language.
I really enjoyed this drama although it takes you through an emotional rollercoaster. I thought the production was better than anything I've seen this year so far. The sets look great and the CGI scenes are seemless. Visually it's gets an A+ The cast is great. The music is great. I'm a big Dilraba fan so I'm there for all her dramas, but my first time seeing Ren Jialun and his portrayal of emotions left me saying WOW this man can act! I have it up there in my top 5 dramas.
@@nicoleraheem1195 I agree about the ending. They could have included more from the book. That was probably the one mistake in this drama was the producers kind of left too much for the imagination on the end.
@@nicoleraheem1195 Oh, so that’s the explanation about her becoming a mermaid. The only fault of this drama is definitely the ending, they could’ve done at least one more episode to not make it so abrupt
As you said, this is going to be for me like getting my "Whopper" from the Burger King. I will watch it just because of DD, she is one of my fave actresses. :)
I haven't started Blue Whisper yet, and I haven't watched Ancient Love Poetry yet, but there is such a vast gulf in the story quality between Novoland Pearl Eclipse and Mirror Twin Cities that it serves no comparison. I get that you're not into the fantasy genre, but it's like you're comparing Game of Thrones to the Power Rangers 😅😭 I'm still gonna watch Blue Whisper though, I'm a junkie, lol. I shall hope for another Pearl Eclipse and prepare myself for another Mirror TC, lol.
I agree with you! I found Novoland Pearl Eclipse to be the best written (and acted) drama in the genre in years, and I felt that this channel was unduly harsh on it considering the actors and script gave us a lot of moments that I have never seen before (and I've watched many many cdramas). The Blue Whisper checks off every box for what I want in a fantasy drama, and while I'm disappointed by some of the changes I've seen so far from the novel, I want to give it a chance.
@@christa2252 Give it a chance, I say there is just a twig here and there as it would be longgggggggggggggggg drama but spoon-feeding audience is not needed because I am at 9 episodes and the majority of things are right to the tee. And heartbreaking moments already started way earlier..... Im devastated.
@@christa2252 Novoland Pearl Eclipse was the first TV series (Chinese, korean or even american) that I waited for each chapter with sincere desire, I was moved and cared about the characters in YEARS (and not FF any scene). and it was the first time that I realized the tastes of this channel are not really for me, however youtube keeps recommending it to me 😂
@@harugreenleaf thanks for recommending Novoland so I will give it a try. Because of AvenueX's entertainment background, things like costumes, hairstyles, lighting, CGIs, trips her so she wont watch the whole drama and has missed out on many good dramas. Much of her opinions makes sense but not all the time. Have a great day!
idk what it is with Ren Jia Lun but I always love his acting and his character in drama, even if when the character is bland, the dude is just awesome.
I like this over You Are my Glory. Xianxia is and wuxia is probably my favorite genre because I love the costumes and whimsical aspects. After watching the first 4 episodes raw (my Mandarin sucks), I decided to read the translated novel and finished it in 2 days, cried like crazy, it's actually has quite a bit of brutality and I wonder whether they will show that on screen. There is going to be a lot of pain coming up and the villain is a crazy psychopath! As for the acting, I've watched Dilraba in ELOD and TLB and I feel this role that her facial expressions have improved - they were also good in YAMG as well but there are a lot more complex facial expressions in this drama I feel. As for computer generated scenes over real sets, I’ve always wondered how much of the real set is actually reused after filming? How much raw materials are wasted? Seems like using computer as much as possible would just be better for the environment. Anyways, that's my opinions. I read that she always gets offered costume dramas.
Ok, I thought about it a bit more as to why I like this drama more than other fantasy dramas, and I'd like to point out that what makes this fantasy drama a little more unconventional is the reverse gender role here. The female lead is the one who is trying to save the male lead and is the one making the calculations. The male lead does step up a lot later, but that's all I will say.
Okay, I always get anxiety attacks when you review and.... your first impression is always a breaking point for me, Thankfully this time it was not that harsh. I agree with some of the points but I have seen Diliraba's performance and I vouch for you on this I have seen a different kind of reaction on her face. Example When she was tortured by the Valley master, Her face that foreseen pain yet still painfully depicted by her, That face I had never seen before, I swear if anyone can tell me that face and expression diliraba used before, I would seriously call them My master. hahahhahah Yes, I am serious. That expression was so well depicted. And, the switch between guilty and cheerful, That face when her brother says Don't show me your cheerful smug face and still she keeps smiling and then when his back is turned her face that sad painful look. I know I am going deep here, But, I just wanted to sound active, not lazy like you told your review to seem ehhehehhe...... I know I may look bais but Diliraba performance is not wooden, That is what I want to put. She delivers, Ren Jailun my first time and I am taken by his innocent yet fierce expressions. I cried a lot while reading, I feel this will too make me cry, It has started from episode 3, And, more heartbreaks are coming. I feel this has so much potential and I personally thank you for giving close to gold mine ... It means a lot.
@@michellefeng867 True. I think it’s because she’s fairer skinned than the average eastern Asian (due to the region of China she comes from which has some Euro centric mixture).
@@michellefeng867 Well you can call everyone pretty, Yes, she is not pretty. She is divine and has goddess beauty. You can cry hoarse but she is. If she was not dunno why shegpt Golden eagle goddess award which still good actress like Yangzi, Secen tan, Yangmi are not able to get. Anyways, your opinion you keep. I'll like you to not reply to me as we would never agree on this. Thanks.
After having seen the whole drama: 1. one of the few that actually improved as it progressed. 2. very abrupt ending with little context. 3. Even I, as a complete non-chinese-speaker, who depends wholly on sub-titles, get the dubbing problem: From watching little promotional clips, people's natural voice has a way of being "lived-in" that even the best dubbing doesn't get.
Ok listen to me it's a good drama go watch it or you missed it But some people has their own opinion but For me it's 100/10!!! The cgi was also good and action And also their acting!! And this review it's just like us who share their opinion to us But this is my opinion!!!
Am I the only one who likes the artificial sets of fantasy dramas? I want to be pulled out of reality by thw vibrant over the top color grading, perfect rocks and grass. And the more color the better!
I so agree with that burger king whopper comment about prediction of how actors would act in upcoming sequence or at certain scenes. I am huge fan of kdrama and I can already predict how my favourite actors are going to act. TBH, I liked them how they act in first place but it gets repititive if you watch 3-4 drama of same actors including supporting cast as they have like their signature acting style. I know , It is very very difficult for actors to constantly reinvent their acting styles.
Planning to watch this after I finish The autumn ballad which is amazing. Dilraba and allen ren was one of my fav but im kinda worried if I will like it coz its fantasy drama😥😥.. im more on wuxia type..so not much of a fan of this genre..:(
Everything you said is exactly what I was thinking. Honestly just started to watching because main leads. Even so, am having trouble connecting, somehow it just doesn't grab my attention.
I just don't get the voice dubbing. The voice over voices are nice and pleasant to listen to sure and usually the dubbing is good but it can be distracting if you do a lot of lip reading because you can tell it doesn't quite match up. Or if I know what the actors real voice sounds like, it's super weird to hear someone else's voice come out of their mouth. It's an odd concept to me to be done this often.
It’s so bizarre because I got to know Ren Jialun through Under the Brocade which I thought he did brilliantly in. Unfortunately I could not get into all these dramas he did afterwards which did really well, such as this one and the recent ones with Bai Lun and Li Qin (can’t remember the English names of the dramas). I wonder if it’s because I couldn’t get into the story or can’t feel the chemistry between the leads. It’s such a shame!
At this moment, I am more frustrated because I can't watch the drama and form my personal opinion (no eng.sub). Until they shows up, I’m afraid I’ll lose both the will and the desire to watch. 😭
I watched some of your commentaries. To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed because I was hoping to get a detailed explanation of the story plot before I start watching this drama. I also think it's a good idea to make a video when a series finished.
but i love this drama, not just because of the leading actors but its because i've read the novel..and its more satisfying watching it with my fave actors though..
Oh I want to say I bought some of the cutest stickers from your site and I am so satisfied with them. They are beautiful to look at and the stationary I put them on just looks so nice.
I feel the same...fantacy/costume/historical/wuxia/xianxia's props often look too fake. I know it will cost much, yet cant they make props more natural? I have seen Cdrama since I was teen. I feel if the props are not good enough, it ruins the storylines. I focus more on the props, not to the acting nor the storylines. Totally distract...😅😅😅 Would Chinese productions team learn more? Coz Chinese dramas often have beautiful & interesting storylines.
I am a fan of Dilraba's and I really did enjoy a lot of things in the first part of the drama including the sets & CGI (tho I watched without subs, I like the moss covered caves & flower filled valleys) but I have to agree that there's a lot to criticise. The director & the script-writer went on to prolong segments of the story that don't particularly enrich the stories or build up the characters and then later, they just super rushed through very important major plot points without really explaining anything.
Actually the fantasy wuxia and xianxia Genere is not for everyone ,,for me I watch only wuxia and fantasy but many don't like the genere ,,I don't watch real life or modern drama,,
Same here. Xianxia and Wuxia dramas are a guilty pleasure for me where I can just turn off my brain and enjoy the drama. However, I can't watch Chinese modern dramas. I don't care for business politics nor the genre in general

I think it's the actors ability or comfortability of being able to deliver lines in historical drama lingo. I read somewhere that some actors get exposed for not delivering lines well in historical dramas. 🤷♀️
@@drmylanr4794 Oh thank you. I realize that in some series, where the shoot takes place (modern/contemporary), they have to do studio sound because there's so much traffic noise/people etc. but I thought China now had more studio lots where that could be more controlled; so couldn't think of why actors would be dubbed.
I didn’t bother watching the 3 that you mentioned, I’ve tried watching this one and only half way through first episode and have to admit I’m so confused and don’t really want to continue
I totally didn’t like when the actors or actresses’ voices got dubbed…. Voiceover whatever you call that. To me at times couldn’t feel the emotions of the actors or actresses presented. The voice actors and actresses were great but many times, couldn’t bring out the right emotions. I always watch the behind scene videos just to listen to their voices. Totally felt the differences.
I dont know who is doing int to you, but.... whenever I click another video after watching yours, my "like" disappears.Ive tested it out five times now.It goes from 9 (with like) to 8 when I come back. Too many of the traffic stars in Chinese dramas appear to be tired (physically and mentally) and uninspired with playing the same type of character over and over with the same type of costar. Would the agencies behind these stars allow them to take a break to rest and recharge and then let them pick a different type of drama (even, gasp, a low budget edgy work) to challenge their acting chops? I know Dilraba can act, she was an interesting actress in some of her earlier dramas before she became a megastar. Audiences will tire of overused and used up actors soon enough, and there is always the next supernova star ready to break out. Stop treating your valuable talented veteran stars as simply cash cows to be used up and then abruptly cast aside.
Yay, was waiting for your review! I was hyped because I like the cast and I'm a sucker for an innocent male lead haha I know it'll get depressing as it goes on, but that's normal :') Honestly, (as you mentioned), I don't think I would've checked the drama out if it wasn't for the leads lol Definately digging the series on the relationshiop side of things (eh hem I won't mention spoilers). The side couple of the cat is super cute too. We have the main CP that are more innocent and confused and we also have the wild cat who will shower his lady with his love~ "Look like they just robbed a curtain shop" LOL love that description. Your humor is so calm yet it's so real, "They think it looks good. I think it looks boring" XD "at least it's not stupid"
Tbh from the get-go the sets are putting me off and there is something else but I can't exactly point it out... Bcz I have seen great set pieces from C dramas... I was greedy for those types of sets... Maybe I am asking for too much...!! Anyway, I'll watch but idk when will I drop it... Let's see... WOH kept me going even with it's flaws...😅😁😁😆😜 Maybe I'll surprise myself..
Avoid this reviewer and watch the drama by yourself, you'll love it!!! I'm not sure why this reviewer has been trying to downgrade a number of fantastic dramas, a number of fantastic actors and actresses. Her review is not profession and bias, so don't miss this and other good dramas.
Well then, no surprises there. I didn't watch Ancient Love Poetry. I finished Novoland Pearl Eclipse but regretted it. I have put Mirror A Tale of Twin Cities on hold indefinitely. I've also fallen out with the fantasy genre it seems.
No, probably you did not fall. What you mentioned, are not worth watching, that's why. MirrorTTC is also disappointing. Let us wait for a really a good Xianxia.
@@drmylanr4794 True. But the Wuxia movies have quirky endings. I really have to think which Wuxia movie has an ending that does not frustrate. Even the HE are very often quite cynical.
I thought there the chemistry between ML and FL was lacking. I've seen Reba in Pillow Book and Flame's Daughter. She had much more chemistry with ML in those drama . I have to wonder if Allen Ren even likes Reba. Rumor had it that his wife didn't allow him to kiss other actresses. Maybe that influenced his character in this drama. He was literally a cold fish in this drama.
I thought she will like the drama since its kind of refreshing from other XianXia dramas out there. She made a video on the problematic things she found in XianXia dramas but this drama kind of doing the opposite things from the normal XianXia out there:
For the first time, the leads are an actual responsible individual who actually care about other people's lives as in no innocent person die for their love lol
Same thoughts!!!
The Blue Whisper does sound beautiful
Same .
Yep its poetic
I like it.
It's also better than Legend of Fei, omg I dropped that like a hot potato.
@@angelasoWA Same here. I couldn't get past episode 1 of Legend of Fei.
👍☺️
You’re killing me!!! The curtain reference cracked me up! I don’t always agree with you but your take on a drama makes me laugh. Thanks and keep doing you AX. Stay safe💃🏽
The curtain comment made me spurt out a laugh on a crowded bus haha
I am really enjoying the blue whisper, especially Ren Jialun. Feel in love with the cute, naive, and adorable big tail fish
Was Legend of Fei an S+ production? It would be ironic if it was.
@@drmylanr4794 only the cost of the actors were S+
Right
I loved this drama a lot… I also watched the other merfolk drama and seeked this one out because I liked the merfolk setting.
Totally agree 👍
The choices that she makes and the consequences she willingly accepts is what I find interesting so far in the drama.
where can i watch this drama with eng sub plz tell me because after episode 8 there is no subtitle in other episodes
The last fantasy Cdrama I loved was “Love and Destiny”. Here’s hoping 🤞 for better things to come.
@@raybop6843 you can try Sandra Ma's drama this yea. It's called Crack of Dawn. Mystery and suspense. Finding the real killer.
Try drama cool
I have the same opinion about the onscreen cp chemistry.
I am also at the point in my life where I have lost my interest for this genre of dramas... But I will still watch your review videos about them!
I’m ready and waiting for English sub
"robbed a curtain shop", that made me rolled over in my seat! LOL!!!!!! But I love the outfits in this series, I think they're very unique. I agree, i don't like them dubbing Reba, they need to let her use her voice. I also agree, I had high expectations for Reba and Jialun, but their acting is the same to me as all their other projects. Nothing really stood out, at least so far. But oddly, I'm enjoying this series. hahahaha....
she may also be too busy to schedule dubbing
Visually it's gets an A+
The cast is great. The music is great. I'm a big Dilraba fan so I'm there for all her dramas, but my first time seeing Ren Jialun and his portrayal of emotions left me saying WOW this man can act! I have it up there in my top 5 dramas.
The ending was too abrupt....
Turned out the book's ending was more smooth.
The mermaid pearl saved her and turned her into a mermaid
@@nicoleraheem1195 I agree about the ending. They could have included more from the book. That was probably the one mistake in this drama was the producers kind of left too much for the imagination on the end.
@@nicoleraheem1195 Oh, so that’s the explanation about her becoming a mermaid. The only fault of this drama is definitely the ending, they could’ve done at least one more episode to not make it so abrupt

I haven't started Blue Whisper yet, and I haven't watched Ancient Love Poetry yet, but there is such a vast gulf in the story quality between Novoland Pearl Eclipse and Mirror Twin Cities that it serves no comparison. I get that you're not into the fantasy genre, but it's like you're comparing Game of Thrones to the Power Rangers 😅😭
I'm still gonna watch Blue Whisper though, I'm a junkie, lol.
@@harugreenleaf thanks for recommending Novoland so I will give it a try. idk what it is with Ren Jia Lun but I always love his acting and his character in drama, even if when the character is bland, the dude is just awesome.
He plays the cold bland characters well. Lol
The more you watch Ren Jialun the more you get addicted to him and the character he protrayed. He is really good
???
In my opinion these drama is awesome 💕💕💕
Totally agree with your opinion 👍

Dilireba is not good at acting at all. She is just pretty( well I don’t think she is that pretty.)
@@michellefeng867 True. I think it’s because she’s fairer skinned than the average eastern Asian (due to the region of China she comes from which has some Euro centric mixture).

Which website do you use to view this Drama The Blue Whisper? Please help........
So is this drama never going to be subbed and put on any English platform?
After having seen the whole drama:
1. one of the few that actually improved as it progressed.
2. very abrupt ending with little context.
3. Even I, as a complete non-chinese-speaker, who depends wholly on sub-titles, get the dubbing problem:
From watching little promotional clips, people's natural voice has a way of being "lived-in"
that even the best dubbing doesn't get.
Where can you watch The blue whisper with english subtitles
Ok listen to me it's a good drama go watch it or you missed it
But some people has their own opinion
but For me it's 100/10!!!
The cgi was also good and action
And also their acting!! And this review it's just like us who share their opinion to us
But this is my opinion!!!
Am I the only one who likes the artificial sets of fantasy dramas? I want to be pulled out of reality by thw vibrant over the top color grading, perfect rocks and grass. And the more color the better!
I just finished Under the skin which was really enjoyable and looking for something new. Think I will give this a pass at the moment.
If I were the actor/actress, that would be an insult to have my voice dubbed!!
I love this drama. I watched it many times and then read the novel, unfortunately I ended up loving the novel more😅 I wish they didn't change much
Flower decoration on your head is beautiful
Planning to watch this after I finish The autumn ballad which is amazing. Dilraba and allen ren was one of my fav but im kinda worried if I will like it coz its fantasy drama😥😥.. im more on wuxia type..so not much of a fan of this genre..:(
‘Biologically non-reactive!’ I love that expression thanks I’m borrowing that one. Great work as always love your recommendations 👏
Thank you. I will comment again after watching all video,
You are so spot on. I feel exactly with these dramas. The only one I didn't check out on is the Matchmaking drama.
Mirror is so so bad
The fake muscle suit made it famous.
Where can I watch it?
I'm still waiting for the english sub on Huase's YT channel but so far I watched the highlight and I quite like it.
Thank you for the background information!
What are the three dramas that are being compared to the Blue Whisper?
Yes, my only reason to try watching this drama is Dilraba 😁
I love your outfits and hair accessories. Where do you buy them?
Where can I watch blue whisper dubbed in English?
I'm only watching because of Dilireba.
but i love this drama, not just because of the leading actors but its because i've read the novel..and its more satisfying watching it with my fave actors though..
Oh I want to say I bought some of the cutest stickers from your site and I am so satisfied with them. They are beautiful to look at and the stationary I put them on just looks so nice.
Nothing had beaten TMOPB!!!! But I definitely still love all the eye candy that comes out! 😂
Yessss, agree! TMOPB is flawless and so captivating!
TMOPB is my standard for great dramas ❤️❤️❤️. It will always be my #1. And yes we have eye candy galore 👀👀😘😘
Totally distract...😅😅😅
Would Chinese productions team learn more? Coz Chinese dramas often have beautiful & interesting storylines.
Can you also review CGI? You never seem to do that. CGI is super important for fantasy dramas!

I'm still confused about why so many series are still dubbed. Do the TV producers etc. have issues with regional accents?
I think it's the actors ability or comfortability of being able to deliver lines in historical drama lingo. I read somewhere that some actors get exposed for not delivering lines well in historical dramas. 🤷♀️
@@drmylanr4794 Oh thank you. I realize that in some series, where the shoot takes place (modern/contemporary), they have to do studio sound because there's so much traffic noise/people etc. but I thought China now had more studio lots where that could be more controlled; so couldn't think of why actors would be dubbed.
This is the IP drama I've been waiting for because I love the author. But yeah, I agree with a lot of your opinion 🤣🤣 love what you love 😅🤣🤣
Again and again and AGAIN. I just wanted to let you know. IF you get to see my comment.I DO NOT know whats up with that.Just thought Id say something. Love your channel
Where is this drama streaming?
I wish I could watch it I don’t know we’re.
I have lost all faith in these fantasy dramas from China. There is maybe 3 or 4 good ones out of hundreds of bad ones.
We have the main CP that are more innocent and confused and we also have the wild cat who will shower his lady with his love~
"Look like they just robbed a curtain shop" LOL love that description. Your humor is so calm yet it's so real, "They think it looks good. I think it looks boring" XD "at least it's not stupid"

Wanted to watch this for Dilraba and Ren Jia Lun. Why did they have to dub them? 😭
It's awesome. You won't be diappointed at all my friend. Just go for it. Ohh sorry 😁 will have to wait till eng subs are availabl.
Pretty sure most if not all their historical dramas are always dubbed.
@@bijayakhakhlary3351 ngl I was worried about the plot. The wait for the subs tho
@@drmylanr4794 I know. Haven't found any historical that they didn't get dubbed. Kinda disappointed about it actually. ;-;
WOH kept me going even with it's flaws...😅😁😁😆😜
Maybe I'll surprise myself..
Avoid this reviewer and watch the drama by yourself, you'll love it!!! I'm not sure why this reviewer has been trying to downgrade a number of fantastic dramas, a number of fantastic actors and actresses. Her review is not profession and bias, so don't miss this and other good dramas.
From my experience, when she likes a drama, it is usually good but the o es she dislike, i dont always agree.
Wuxia is way better lol
@@drmylanr4794 True. But the Wuxia movies have quirky endings. I really have to think which Wuxia movie has an ending that does not frustrate. Even the HE are very often quite cynical.
@Cristina M oh yeah plenty of frustrations from Wuxia dramas but I am thinking more of visuals. Bad cgi in xianxia is so distracting.
Pls, Are the eng subs out
The Blue whisper 👍❤️😍❤️❤️
could we possibly see your thoughts on the oath of love?
you know I agree if it wasn't for the leads I would most certainly nota pay as much attention to this drama lol...
totally agree with u
plz do a review on part 2 too
i want to join AvenueX in a video and start ranting about chinese fantasy dramas 😎
I don’t agree with you 😇I love love it
I thought there the chemistry between ML and FL was lacking.
Lol... literally pause during 'that couple, that couple and that couple' part...
