Hi, the TD-17KVX kit had the CY-13R actually. The new CY-14R-T is 14" and has a thinner profile, which I do prefer over the older more "bulky" cymbal pads. I'd personally give it at least a 7 or 8 :) Kind regards!

TD-17KVX2 comes with the new flat cymbals CY-12C-T and CY-14R-T. I'd probably get the new version of the kit because of those, they play more realistic/less bulky and the ride is 1" bigger than the older CY-13R. Hey Michael, yes I think so. The 16" thin ride & 14" thin crash have been there since the first VAD kits had been introduced, which has been a while now. I think there won't be any severe production quality problems with any Roland product, they're always top notch. I really like the thin cymbals & prefer them a lot over the older more "bulky" ones. They just feel a little more natural somehow, kind regards!

Возможно ли установить под левую руку?
The td17 snare sounds…are really bad
How did you learn to play that well
Are you self taught?
What is the name / make of the mat ?
Well the hi-hat is impressive...
Just amazing
Thanks man!
What is the difference bet current td17kvx and this V2
Which one will be worth buying and will any module upgrade will be available as download later
As i am planning to buy the td17kvx
TD-17KVX2 comes with the new flat cymbals CY-12C-T and CY-14R-T. I'd probably get the new version of the kit because of those, they play more realistic/less bulky and the ride is 1" bigger than the older CY-13R. More info on the kit:
www.drum-tec.com/roland-td-17kvx2-v-drums-set
You might get in touch through experts@drum-tec.de for info on availability, also you can get any custom kit configuration from drum-tec. Kind regards!
The new kits sound awesome and huge! What are your thoughts on the new thin profile cymbals? Do you think they'll last as much as the regular ones?
Hey Michael, yes I think so. The 16" thin ride & 14" thin crash have been there since the first VAD kits had been introduced, which has been a while now. I think there won't be any severe production quality problems with any Roland product, they're always top notch. I really like the thin cymbals & prefer them a lot over the older more "bulky" ones. They just feel a little more natural somehow, kind regards!
@@drumtecTV Recently had to leave my studio, so I can't play my acoustic drums anymore. I just ordered a TD-17KVX2. Should receive it in a few weeks! Can't wait!
@@MichaelDionneDrummer Great, enjoy & happy drumming!
I have an old td12 with pads/triggers that have poor response. It is either in need of fixing or replacing entirely. Wondering if old flagships compare to any modern midrange these days?🤷♀️ the hat on my td12 (vh11) has become unplayable last few days - socket seems to have come loose!
Are the cables long enough to have ride where second tom would be and second crash where the ride is? So that I can play a one up one down tom setup basically. Cheers!
Yes that's absolutely possible, kind regards!
I like your videos 🎉
Dope drumming
Thanks!
What mat did you use? I don’t remember seeing that specified in the video?
Hey Jason, it's a Roland TDM-20:

Those chops are sooo good!
Greetings,
I wanted to kindly ask what differences there are between TD17KVX and TD17KVX2.
Is it possible to insert the update on a TD 17 KVX?
Thank you
yes you can, the primary difference is the hi hat stand
Is the td17 2.0 update better than Yamaha dtx-pro?
That's hard to tell in general, the sounds of one might be preferable to one person, while another person might prefer the exact opposite :) You can compare the sound demos here on the channel & decide for yourself, best would be to try out both kits side by side actually:

I'm always reading good reviews.
Which one makes better sound, ATV aD5 module or Pearl mimic pro module?
What would be a good comparison?
You can find sound demos of both modules on our channel here, and listen to them with monitoring / headphones of your choice to make a decision:

Yet it's not really a fair comparison, as the Pearl Mimic Pro plays in a different price league. Feel free to get in touch through experts@drum-tec.de for further assistance if you like. Kind regards!
Sounds good, but still sounds 'electronic'...
Hey Mark, I agree, yet you might hook up a nice Toontrack library like EZD3 via midi for example :)

Hey, does this kit have better responses than dtx 6? cheers
I'd say yes, Roland modules/kits have state-of-the-art triggerunbg for sure. Kind regards!
Hello, how are you?
I own a Roland TD-17 KV.
I would like to know if there was a change in the sound of the kits installed. If there is a download possibility for the TD-17 KV.
Thank you very much.
Hey Erich, the new firmware is available from the Roland website. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV My most sincere thanks.👍
I am a fan of yours.
The kits demo are the original out of box by TD-17 KVX 2? Can I get the set-ups of those kits on my TD-17KVX? They sound inspiring!
Hi, the new V2 firmware for TD-17 and TD-27 sound modules is available for download from the Roland website as far as I know now. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV Thank you, sir! :) Got it!
Great!!!
Does anyone know how well the hi hat plays without hi hat stand? I.e. when mounted on the rack
I would assume if you didn't use the trigger it would require you to buy a foot pedal for it and not feel as authentic.
@@custum18 Thank you for replying. I ended up buying the kit with the required hi-hat stand.
Is this kit better than the ATV EXS3 kit?
There are some stuff that makes the td 17kvx2 better like the module and the pad feel much better in my opinion
