DIY Muffler Delete on my 2013 G37x. Super easy and reversible, try it and see if you like the sound. After this video, I had some straight pipes bent to come out the back bumper. Then welded on the stock muffler tips for a clean OEM look.
No drone on the freeway, you can't even hear the exhaust unless you get on it. And when you do get on it the sound is amazing. Awesome, simple mod.
Cruising around town it's pretty quiet, unless you quickly accelerate.
Cold starts are a bit loud, especially in the garage. But it warms up quickly and gets quieter.

Just tried this...what made it easier for me is actually unbolting the hangar thats in the wheel well ... once you do that you can easily pull it off the exhaust instead of pulling the exhaust off of it. (you can bolt it back on or leave it off doesn't matter) Makes the G37 sound UNREAL! thanks for the video and huge help

Isn't there a bolt/clamp connecting the muffler to the midpipe?

I had this done to my current 13' G37 Journey. Loving it! However, partner not liking it so much and may want mufflers put back on. Nice video. However, my step-son is the body shop and performance expert, so he tinkers with this stuff. I'd end up breaking something.

No the muffler on g37s doesn't need to be cut it is just a clamp and 2 hangers so he just undid the clamp and took it off

@@asagreen6607 i mean if he just took the stock muffler out, there should be some pipe to connect between muffler tips and the Y pipe..
@@infinitimusic1903 He got some exhaust piping and welded it on where the mufflers were then cut off the stock tips and welded those on aswell.

Noah Bartels mine didn’t drone since it had 7th gear. It was pleasant at highway speeds.

I have g37 rwd sedan.. there’s a lot of our cars here in the evergreen state! But not sure whether to do a muffler delete wonder if the noise would be annoying during normal driving / highway.. don’t want it sounding ghetto lol

got a muffler delete on my g37x with mustang resonators and the car couldnt sound any better. Owned the car for about a year and a half and havent once got annoyed

Sounds FuckingFantastic Dude!, i was gona say, if ever you want try a different but similar set up, get some 2bolt oval flanges welded at both ends of your mid pipe resonators. And a straight tube to,same length. with same oval flages, you'll get the same deep tone, without the horrid drone. I did the resonator delete on my Q45t few years back..with 2005 Altima SE-R oem mufflers. It's Still the Cheapest & Best sounding exhaust mod i found yet, Bolt em back up to sell or trade and your back to OEM
I've kept the same recipe ever since. Still, Idk if I'd change anything on yours.

Not unless someone took a blowtorch to it. When you do the muffler delete, the exhaust comes out a good 2 feet from the bumper.

Wish I got them wider but it's whatever. Definitely helps with traction though, and it looks beefy from behind lol

I got some pipes with tips welded on to where it was detached. They're just hanging on to the same place where it was detached.

Couldn't you _technically_ detach the muffler from the rest of the pipe, but leave the muffler there? That would make it easier to reinstall the mufflers, wouldn't it?

@@kylecarves8486 in case you're still wondering, yes you can just disconnect them and not fully remove them, but it'll rattle a bit, especially on the start up, so i ended up just removing them. Hoping the pipes come in next week

@@gilcarmona7498 i know from experience, you will lose torque and acceleration will be slower, the difference is noticeable but not a big deal if you just want a louder exhaust
Ooh alright I just got my first car the g37x coupe I ended up getting my muffler delete since money don’t flow in right now like that to spend on a exhaust for now until summer since I still have high school but what exhaust would u recommend im thinking of buying one I was planning on buying a exhaust but someone did a hit and run on my car headlights are expensive and the bumper... I dint wanna put it in my insurance since I’m a minor
Congratulations on the g37 lol, i would recommend you to go look up motordyne exhaust on RUclips, thats what i have on my G35 its not very loud and makes lots of crackles and pops, it sounds really nice. And try to find your headlights and bumper on offerup they are usually not as expensive as buying on ebay or from factory.

I have had both and I will tell you this is the better route to go with these cars I have a Q50 with a muffler delete and it sounds great the 3.7 engine really gets no gains from a full exhaust system its a waste of money and you will spend 3 or 4 times more for it then doing a simple muffler delete which will sound just as good and in some cases better

Actually, it's a pretty smart idea. Louder, yet good sounding exhaust without the cost of an aftermarket exhaust.

BK SM you lose the weight at the back bottom though so that’s exactly where you want the weight to be.. rear front weight balance and rwd traction
