I heard that and immediately DOVE into the comments to see if anyone else thought it as well. I'm so glad that not only did you, not only is it the third comment from the top, but it's like half the comments.
I love this show so much! I have great nostalgia for all of these songs, and I absolutely love jazz. Getting to hear the two put together brought strong emotions throughout the entire thing. Especially the Gusty Gardens part. So good.
@@hitboxhero no I was there on Monday. That kid Mario came with his brother lil Luigi 😆 I think they got interviewed by Nintendo, remember seeing him in one of the videos from official Twitter
Never get tired of the Nintendo Special Big Band arrangement of the Mario themes. FOr those who don't know, the arrangement used of the main theme and Underground were used in a huge medley that the Nintendo Special Big Band played in 2014 at the Nico Nico Choukaigi, and again in 2017 during the Switch Preview Event, along with other Nintendo medleys. Both have been uploaded by various people, but my preference to watch them is: I recommend Duckie's for the 2014 performance playlist, and CrowleyRhoads for the 2017 performance
Man those trumpets don't get a break! Their chops are probably more than dead by the end. Oh, I'm a trumpet player, so yeah, I kind of know what I'm talking about.
I was offered a free ticket to Nintendo LIVE 2023 from a friend but was not sure if I was going to make it due to no job but then when I was going to go, it was given away the night before. Dually noted next time to just accept it right away. haha
I love 8BBB and I'm sure they might have gotten some inspiration for some stuff from them, but they definitely didn't get the idea for this concert from them. Mario and Big Band have been hand in hand forever. There was a quite famous (I mean, it even has its own wikipedia article) concert in Japan back in 2003 called Mario and Zelda Big Band Live. A lot of the arrangements in this concert even sound like they were taken wholesale from that concert 20 years ago. I can't find a *video* of the *entire concert in one chunk* right now, but you can find video clips of individual songs (for example, here's a mario medley ruclips.net/video/oHNfYvAyJxw/видео.html ) or the audio of the whole concert (ruclips.net/video/s7Zx8pQ5YGE/видео.html). I've been listening to that CD for almost 20 years at this point and it never fails to satisfy. When they play Slider in the encore it really feels like a real victory lap.

18:03 erm... what the grand?
Gusty Garden Galaxy was my favorite part of the whole video. It brought tears to my eyes 🥹
The whole show was emotional for me too

This honestly carried the entirety of the event for me
Yeah, there loads of fun things but I couldn’t miss this in particular.
Thanks so much for uploading this.
Glad you enjoyed it
18:03 GRAND DAD!!
It was awesome and amazing was there on Saturday!
This and Super Mario Bros Wonder were the highlights for me.
Wonderful video! I wish I had been there
Hopefully you were able to at least enjoy the concert through video.
@@hitboxhero I did. Thanks for uploading it.
25:32 the women in the audience bopping lol
you already know nintendo got the idea for this from the 8-bit big band
No doubt. In this case I’m glad they copied it since Nintendo’s version also slaps.

@@VonSnootingham i was just joking i dont actually think they copied they just seemed so similar in terms of sound and logo lol
That Percussionist tho…
I also felt like the piano player was also just having a blast
7:47
Are those the same drums as the Ollie Waton drums from the Spitfire Labs library? I'm sorry just- they sound so similar
I imagined in the back of my head that brentafloss would sing the lyrics of some of the songs
Would have been interesting no doubt.
