Great job man! I happened to have just purchased the same product tonight and am watching a few videos to get different perspectives on how to clay bar my car. YOURS IS THE BEST ONE I’VE SEEN! You keep it simple and to the point. You were clear and concise during your instruction. I also liked that you demonstrated how to get this particular job done with two methods. I feel much more confident to do this. The other videos that I watched had me pretty nervous to do this. They made it sound and look a lot more scary by working on a vintage Porsche, or a 57 Chevy. Again, thanks for your work and sharing it with me.
Awesome Rick, thank you so much for your comment! I understand how overwhelming it can seem for beginners, however once you get the gist of it you find out how easy it actually is! Thanks again.
I can always count on you my guy to come through with the informative video. Got into the game last year watching you. Now I’m out here in Atlanta looking to take detailing up the next level. People don’t understand what a clay bar can do for their vehicle 💯💯
Ey bro I watched your starting a detailing buisness under 500$ and been going hard ever since…thank you man keep dropping these videos imma keep on supporting and learning 💪🏽
Thanks! Well thought out and executed clay bar tutorial. The editing is just as spot on as this gentleman work ethic. I appreciate your effort’s sir, and look forward to more content.
Great and easy to follow explanation of a process I was nervous about doing on my own. I didn't want to wreck my paint... but now I'm ready to give it a try. Great Work!!
I look at a lot of videos and you are the best. I had those rust looking spots on my brand new car and that Meguiars kit took it right off. Thank you bro.
Great video! Thanks for the instruction, I'm using a clay bar for the first time today. One note that Chemical Guys noted is if you drop the clay on the ground, toss it! This is to avoid scratching the paint. I personally use Zymol carnauba Japon wax. I live in Northern Virginia and find it last around nine weeks.
That’s right, any clay bar from any brand, is the only clay media that once you drop it you have to unfortunately get rid of it. Thank you for watching and let us know how the clay bar process went! :)
Keep up the work. Such an inspiration. I been thinking about starting up a detailing business and was confused but I found your videos and so much information. I appreciate it bro sending out the best wishes 👍🏼
Haven’t included clay bar in my business yet and I will need to start on my own vehicle first to gain some experience. Thanks for this video, always appreciate you!
Your instructions are always very detailed and you never leave anything out, like some other channels on RUclips. Just wanted to say thank you for doing these videos…very well done!!! I wish you best of luck and hope your business is booming!
Nice Video, before watching your video I literally wash/details all my cars like you explained to do so and steps you did. I have always wash my cars and never let anyone touch them. I might hit you up tho to come out to riverside Ca since we have the same techniques . I def trust your attention to detail off just this video . 🤝
thank you! the foam is super useful ima do that! i hate that the clay bar is so tiny but it makes sense. i hope i can get good use out of it but im worried about wasting so much money on it cuz u went through like half a piece on the front panel alone no?
Is wax and sealant the same thing just different products? Also how many cars did you have to detail to get that sweet gold watch? 😅 jk bout the watch but not about the 1st question
Can I use the same soap I use to wash my car to clay bar, plus the chemical guys lubricant? Do I even need to use the Chemical guys lubricant if I'm using the car soap?
Yes, you can use the same soap! How are you planning on using it, with a foam cannon or in a sprayer bottle? If you are using the soap in a sprayer bottle then you don’t need the other lubricant, if you are using a foam cannon but also have the other lubricant with you, I don’t see why it would hurt to use it and help you out but overall, no, you would not need it.
I wouldn’t say it would fix it but it could be the first step to removing it OR making it look better than how it currently may look. Ultimately if you want to get rid of the etching (depending on how long it has been sitting on the paint) you more than likely would have to get it polished with any sort of compound and I believe you could do it by hand, it’ll just require some elbow grease! Hope that helps 👍🏻
I believe you may need to clay bar it and even have it polished out to get rid of the yellowing. The clay bar will remove any contaminates in the paint. The polish will bring the color back to life. Moving forward you want to ensure to apply some form of protection on to the paint whether it’s a wax, sealant or ceramic coating to protect the paint from the suns UV Rays.
I am considering purchasing the chemical guys wax bundle that you mentioned to begin my car detailing business. Do you think spending the 30$ is worth it ?
Hey Alex, I personally haven’t tried it but I will admit I was surprised when I saw everything it does bring, overall seems like a great kit. I’m sure it’ll be great for your first clay kit! Hope that helps 👍🏻
I have a new car coming an bought some ceramic coat I'm going to apply when I get it I saw they had several steps todo before ceramic coat do you think clay bar before hand is nessacry
Hey Josh, a true ceramic coating is much more durable than any wax or paint sealant. It will also remain on the surface for usually a long time, so 9/10 times detailers or anyone coating a vehicle will go ahead and clay as necessary and paint correct/polish their paintwork as real coatings enhance the look of your cars paint. So depending on your vehicles condition I’d say see if any paint correction is required and at the very least I recommend you to clay bar the vehicle before applying a ceramic coating.
Do you have your stubby pressure washer gun hooked up to a regular water hose? I got one but couldn’t figure out how to connect the water hose to the pressure washer gun
@@detailingbeyondlimits I’m about to do a video on my channel of me clay baring my pickup. If you’re ok with it I’ll mention your video and put the link to it in the description. Not a big channel only 43
Thx for the video. What are your thoughts on using a silocone clay bar? Also, I used a quick detailer spray to remove some bee poop off of my car. But, now I have drip streaks. I washed. I washed my car but it didn't remove them. Would a clay bar be the way to remove the streaks? Or am I just not applying enough pressure when washing my car?
For me I have never needed to clay bar anywhere other than the doors. The doors is where the grime and little black hard dots of dirt appear. When you feel the paint if you feel that grit and rough surface it needs clay barring. Nowhere feels like to me other than the doors. Waste of a clay bar to use it on a spot that does t have that grime from debris and break dusty etc like the doors. I didn’t know circles caused that tho good tip. I’ll go back and forth from now on.
based on the discoloration and debris on the clay bar from the hood, it appears that this vehicle's hood needed it as well. In addition to being one of the largest surface areas, it's also one of the most visible on the car, so I don't think it was effort wasted whatsoever.
My wife tried to count how many times he says “I’m going to go ahead and…” and she lost count! Lol he sounds very clear and well spoken so I don’t mind - and good info especially the chemical Guys stuff that I swear by!

Wait, what?! No before & after comparison? Come on, man? I watched the whole video assuming we'd see a before & after! I've used up probably over hundred clay bars over the years and they work almost like magic. I've managed to restore the finish on even old cars to looking better than showroom new. The clay will smooth the finish and remove any corrosion that hazes the finish to leave a gorgeous deep finish that almost looks like wet paint after waxing. Never clay a car unless you have time to wax the area you clayed. The only reason folks don't use clay is it requires some time & energy to complete. It's not difficult at all. If you use a detailing spray for lubricant, you don't even need water. This is old school tech that's been around for years. We used it back in 1990s to prep for IASCA competitions and it always provided excellent results. 👍
I love that you showed how to do it with regular soap as well as a dedicated product.

Is spray wax the same as doing all this
Clay treatment and wax in general are two completely different things.
So can you foam the car and clay bar at the same time after washing it down.
I have been using Maguire Gold, solution, but it seems to be disintegrating my clay bars. Is this no-rinse OK even on the long run on the clay bars?
is it okay to use clay bar for a car with ceramic/graphene coating?
