Aside from that a number of unfinished prototype characters for Virtua Fighter, which I should note are still in that game's code, made an appearance in Tekken. The most obvious one being Prototype Jack who looks identical to Prototype Jeff, and perhaps less obvious way Siba influenced Yoshimitsu's fighting style which is especially evident in his Fighter's Megamix appearance.
and polygons , this game not contains squares, is pure rounded poligons... this video justicie , real tkk1 in-real ps1 in real crt is very best image,..;)...
Damn you guys got to meet Harada and he signed one of you guys's shirt? Damn. Not sure if I'm more jealous of Harada meeting you guys or jealous of you guys meeting Harada.
Remembered my laundry mat had a Tekken 2 arcade machine and I always asked my mom for a quarter while she was doing laundry and she always got pissed when i asked her lol. Good times.
Oh lmao, I always wondered why fighting games back in the day had such little health bars. Like, 4 hits and you're done Then I remembered, they were arcade games. Gotta milk them quarters out of you!
I love how Paul's fighting style is supposedly Judo, a martial art with no strikes, and all he does is strike, even in most of his throws. Might explain why Austin Power's Judo Chop is so OP.
I rented 1, owned 2 & 3, played Tag 1, played 4, skipped 5, owned Dark Resurrection, skipped 6, owned Tag 2. I've never delve into the competitive scene so I don't see myself as even moderately good, but watching others play Tekken 7 before its release makes me want to pick it up again.
I know, right? I mean, that happend to me, when Soul Blade was out! I found out about that game in magazines! Funny enough: The magazine called it a "Tekken / Battle Arena Toshinden Mix" And to be honest: When it comes to 3D Fighting Games: Battle Arena Toshinden is the least known game of all 3D Fighters.
Fun fact, up until Tekken 3, It was just the wind god fist. Jin was the first Mishima to get an EWGF. Then, in Tekken Tag 1, where Heihachi got it, then Tekken 4 where Kazuya got it. This Makes Kazuya, the first playable Mishima, the last of the 3 to actually get the revered EWGF, which has now become one his most essential tools to this day.
Tekken games I have: 1. Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Tekken 4 3. Tekken 5 4. Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online 5. Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion 6. Tekken Hybrid 7. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 It's safe to say that I'm an avid fan of this epic fighting game series. ^_^
Harada produced the first & second Tekken games while he did the voices for Yoshimitsu, Marshall Law, & Kunimitsu. It wasn't until the Third game when he became the director.
It's literally this simple Dan. He will play it and cover, at minimum a week or 2 of coverage. If he likes it, he'll keep playing. If not he'll probably only look at it again if dlc interests him. It's like this with EVERY MAJOR FIGHTING GAME. He has no obligation to you to play a game he doesn't end up liking.
Even though Sergei Dragunov is my favorite character now, I've always liked how Paul hasn't really changed throughout the series. They've made some changes but very subtle ones so you'd always have that one familiar/old faithful character to fallback on.
The thing that gets me is that their animations have been the same since the beginning. The attacks, the hit recoil, the jumps, even the stances, it's all the same. Man, I'm surprised they didn't change it up at all!
Mr_Beezlebub Whoa? A run for its money? VF2 utterly destroys Tekken 1. Heck it's better than Tekken 2 too. Lol. VF2 was an amazing game when it came out.
That scream with Max highlighted Nina lmao. Man, graphics have come a long way. Btw, some RUclipsrs have done compilations of individual characters throughout the series. It's pretty neat.
Tekken was the first Playstation game I ever had and I remember the amazement I felt when I put the disc into my CD player and could listen to the game soundtrack.
Tekken 2 is definitely my favorite entry in the series (I loved playing as Kazuya and Kunimitsu), It got me into playing the other Tekken games (Tekken 1, 3 ,4, Tag 1 and 2) it would be until few years after that I would start playing Tekken 5 and 6. I definitely can't wait to get my hands on Tekken 7 and finally see the final showdown between Kazuya and Heihachi.
Memories.. My dad bought me this and wipeout 1.. Along with a ps1.. He trained for 2 weeks, learning nina's throw move to fight me on xmas day.. This was a guy who has never played a game before.. knowing I played alot of SFII and MK1 on snes.. He beat me twice before I adapted.. Great guy, good times and I realise I'm his age then.. now ^^;;
I briefly played Tekken one but T2 I was amazed at the opening cinematic and after hours of playing I was shocked to see unlockable characters it was like the fun never ended.
while the first Tekken has not aged well, it still holds a special place in my heart for being not only the first fighting game that got me into fighting games, but being the first arcade game I've ever played
Tekken 2 was the first game I got on PS1. For whatever reason I saw Tekken (1) at toysrus a year later and asked to get it, it was on sale for like 15 bucks or something. I remember it feeling very clunky compared to Tekken 2 but I enjoyed seeing the different characters. Good memories.
I started on Tekken 3. I remember the days of being 4 years old, and knowing only how to do Yoshimitsu's spin kick (neutral Left Kick). And then I discovered his doorknocker move and never used anything else until I actually figured out how to actually play fighting games
OMG at 26:43-26:49 Just imagining Kazuya, of all people, getting frustrated during the fight, jumping down at Lee, missing his punching and screaming "OH, YOU FUCK!!" is just amazing imagery to me
2 years from the future to tell you yes that shit is hilarious but also to anyone else watching from the future the timestamp is at the wrong spot. 26:43-26:49
listening to this whilst working and laughing at the frustration and swearing lol! reminds me when i used to play it with friends after school! thanks!
The first game I EVER played on PS1 was this Tekken. I remember this game was brand new and my dad rented me the game and the PS at Blockbuster as a late birthday present (I miss those days). My cousin and I played it then we tried to beat it. Heihachi gave us so much trouble that we passed the control to my little brother who had been watching us the whole time. He beat Heihachi FIRST TRY! We were like no way we should've just let you play in the first place. Keep in mind my cousin and I were like 12 at the time, my brother was 7 and had never even touched the controller before then, much less played a match. This is a true story I put it on my fathers grave.
Tekken 2 was the reason I got a psx, I was at Comp USA about to get a Sega Saturn but they had the demo disc with T2 on display, I'm glad I changed my mind. Been a Sony guy ever since
Tekken 2 was the first one I ever played, via the "Interactive Sampler Disc" 3 for PS1, but Tekken 1 was the first one I ever owned. I'm glad it turned out that way, because even if Tekken 1 hasn't aged well, or doesn't hold much of a candle to 2, it was a fantastic game for it's time.
I remember playing this game at 1 or 2 years old back in 94. The galaga tune is actually one of very first things I can remember ever because of this game lol. 😆
"Two or three hits are all you get". Uh, Steve, Tekken had tenstrings to start with. Watching Max playing this made me nervous. I keep thinking "NO, NO, NO, just do this and that!". Tekken was one of the first games I bought for PS1. I just had the demo disc for months, because the system was expensive AF at day one (my parents paid half of it as a gift and I got the rest by selling my Mega Drive and all the games) and it didn't have a bundled game, so I played the hell out those demos, and REALLY wanted Battle Arena Toshinden, but as soon as I had the money, Toshinden was gone, so I "unfortunately" had to fall back on Tekken, which I considered the inferior 3D fighting game, because it had no sidestepping. Man, was I wrong.
I got into Tekken because I was at an amusement park. I don't like heights...so I don't like most rides. Rather than be a buzz kill I opted to go to the arcade. I played a few games and since I had been a fan of fighting games...I walked up to a Tekken cabinet. The move sets for characters were different from any I had seen at the time. I played Lee because...Bruce...why not. I am sure I played several games but, at some point I just slammed my hand on the 4 button inputs....Lee ran up my opponent and slammed down on him. Still my favorite move in fighting games. Probably Tekken 2. The memory is a bit old.
Yeah I started with Tekken 1 back in an arcade amusement room in Columbus, NJ. It was my first fighting game ever and what made me start playing the game was watching Yoshimitsu, who to this day is still my favorite character in the entire series. I was there for 20 years until they removed it in 2015, and I was genuinely upset about it. While the sequels are infinitely better, I still occasionally go back to Tekken 1 and actually still have some fun, if only just to see the series humble roots. From what I hear this was probably the first 3D fighter that ran at 60fps, especially compared to Virtua Fighter. I guess that explains the odd textures. I actually got a Playstation copy at TooManyGames 2017. Would you believe that this is the first time I've ever played the console version of Tekken 1? Yup, I've only had experience with the arcade version. Needless to say, I still love how goofy the ending FMV's are in the original Tekken.
Fun fact: an ex-Virtua Fighter designer worked on Tekken in the early stages. Which is why you see similarities like moon jump etc.
Prototype Akira in VF looked like Jin.
That ex-Virtua Fighter guy was actually the Co-Creator. He then directed the first two Tekken games.
Yes, Seiichi Ishii. I believe Daichi Katagiri designed the characters in question. Ishii also directed one of my favorite games Metal Max Returns.
that is fact
For the first texture mapped fighting game ever made, Tekken looks damn serviceable.
It's because it was a damn smooth running game. Definitely the most "fluent" out of all the other fighting games back then
and polygons , this game not contains squares, is pure rounded poligons...
this video justicie , real tkk1 in-real ps1 in real crt is very best image,..;)...
The reason why Tekken had those moon jumps was because ex Virtua fighter developers like Seiichi Ishii worked on Tekken 1, and 2.

Man, you gotta love Paul-nareff, this is before they standardised his hair to white.
Luke K. i am one of few people who appreciate this joke haha
Is that a JoJo reference?!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?
Damn you guys got to meet Harada and he signed one of you guys's shirt? Damn. Not sure if I'm more jealous of Harada meeting you guys or jealous of you guys meeting Harada.
Yume Aihara We have an arcade on our local mall which has a Tekken 6 arcade cabinet signed by Harada himself. :P
Can we have a legacy just for Kazuya's ungodly eyebrows? Please?
Then we need one of Heihachi's majestic hair as well. :D
Jake and Jinpachis beard
If hair is an issue... What the heck is wrong with Paul???
I know. You're right.
Means that Paul probably has ever bigger personal issues. lol
kazuya:"i dont know why im punching my eyebrows could slice up my opponent with ease"
Remembered my laundry mat had a Tekken 2 arcade machine and I always asked my mom for a quarter while she was doing laundry and she always got pissed when i asked her lol. Good times.
kamb0_510 Mine had tekken 3, those were simpler times.
You should of money matched her. Easiest allowance money ever.
Ah Tekken. My first playstation game. Such a great day that was. Paul was my main the whole time. Even in Urban Reign.
wreck 1990 hell yeah Urban reign. they need to either remaster it or make a part two to it
Tekken 2 had some dope ass hidden cheats and shit. Juggle mode, wireframe, bighead, etc.. Unlocking the characters was crazy then too.
Actually, King I has a special throw that King II doesn't have. I think it was an item move in Tekken 6.
Oh lmao, I always wondered why fighting games back in the day had such little health bars. Like, 4 hits and you're done
Then I remembered, they were arcade games. Gotta milk them quarters out of you!
Remember being able to play this on tekken 5
Remember being able to play this on ps1.
Remember being able to play this at Arcades?
Stimpackswe no because I didn't have it on ps1
They are actually playing that on Tekken 5! I saw the original stream.
BlackbohnsterGaming does it work on dark ressuraction

Kazuya: ...Now spread em!
King-K9 Kaz put the moves on Jun ez i see

Kazuya: "No witnesses."
King is such an awesome character. He has a move in this game that makes the opponent over -90 on block.
It's D/F 4, my friend. I recommend you watch TMM (TheMainManSWE). He knows Tekken veery well👍
I love how Paul's fighting style is supposedly Judo, a martial art with no strikes, and all he does is strike, even in most of his throws. Might explain why Austin Power's Judo Chop is so OP.
Its honestly so much more entertaining to watch Max struggle and overcome
Tekken 2 was my first Tekken and was an awesome game at that time
History ..ooooh shit this game was clonky as fuck
Jack be like "Leg day? Is that the day where you pick somebody up by their legs and use them for some sweet hammer curls?"
River Matmuspha Tekken DR basically is 5
I'm aware. Doesn't suddenly make me own 5 and disown DR :P
Kazuya in Tekken 1 has same creepiest ending in fighting game history
@@sridrawings4510 More like ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ending.
Fun Fact - Kazuya does a three hit combo in one of the intros that he has never had in ANY Tekken. Why it's forgotten/not used is beyond me.
This came with my first ps1 along with Crash Bandicoot.
Tekken was my first 3D Fighting game and my first Playstation 1 game! So it has a special place in my heart.
BlackbohnsterGaming me2 haha
same, and the way they talk about tekken in the beginning reminds me of Soul Blade and how no one knows that game.
I know, right? I mean, that happend to me, when Soul Blade was out! I found out about that game in magazines! Funny enough: The magazine called it a "Tekken / Battle Arena Toshinden Mix"

E24K Lawson Sadly i didnt any of them BUT i played
Tekken 1,2,3,5,5DR,6,TT. ^^
I just realized saying EWGF has as many syllables as saying Electric Wind God Fist
That's cool to know actually 😂😂
Tekken 4 was my childhood, my favorite ps2 fighting game :D
If there's one thing I've learned from Tekken 1, it's this: Don't fight your dad, even if he threw you off a cliff. He will read your every move
Trying to fight your dad is suicide. He'll react to beat whatever you're doing. Also don't fight your older brother

I had this game in 95 and I was in love with Tekken. It looks absolutely wretched now.

this was my introduction to Tekken way back in 2017. I thank Max for getting me hooked on Tekken.
Man, Jack looks weird as shit in Tekken 1. The normal human legs and enlarged upper body look bizarre.
I started Tekken with Tag Tournament 1. Aaaaahhhh that intro
That intro music is just too perfect for nostalgia.
LordMoldyButt18 it is the best out of all of them
Tekken 3 and Tag Tournament were my fucking childhood.
LordMoldyButt18 same here brother!
TTT literally was the e"Everybody's Here!" of the time, every single character from earlier Tekkens was in it + a new one *wink* also Tetsujin......

Tekken 1 was huge back in the early ps1 days and defiantly put VF1 to shame.
Dave Mitchell Virtua Fighter 2 gave Tekken 1 a run for its money though
Mr_Beezlebub yes 100%
Mr_Beezlebub Whoa? A run for its money? VF2 utterly destroys Tekken 1. Heck it's better than Tekken 2 too. Lol. VF2 was an amazing game when it came out.
