So in love with this watch, six months on I still keep watching it like the first day cause it's so beautiful. I bought new watch and return. No way I will pick other watch instead for everyday use. I don't know what is the magic of this beauty. It catch my eyes every time for past six months.
I owned this watch (Chrono version) and it was my first non-swatch watch, it's built like a tank with a beautiful solid brushed steel. Two things I would change, resize it to 39-40 mm and throw in an ETA mechanical movement and let it compete with Longines and Tag Heuer.
I have this same exact model and at first I was skeptical as to why it had a rotating bezel, divers extension and a push pull crown was a head scratcher. 100m WR only. I’ve come to fall in love with it though and the build quality is superb. This is one of those daily beater watches that will last for a lifetime and not show much wear and tear. That sapphire crystal alone will preserve this watch. Bracelet is solid and sturdy. The great part about this watch is you get high quality Swiss watch that won’t require service like Rolex or carry the price tag of one but the build quality is there. Change the battery every so often and you’re good to go. Only servicing it needs.
I have a red faced Convoy Chrono as a daily beater. I was thinking about buying an all black version of this Maverick, but can you change bands on this one or is it Victorinox bands only?
Great watch had many people compliment me both camping and swimming in the river as well as in suite and tie corporate conference room setting. A few people even thought it was a Rolex submariner from table seating distance. 5 years going strong great quality.
Nothing wrong with quartz. Though most of my watches are automatic, I have a Citizen Promaster Tough (solar), and a Victorinox INOX. Why does the RUclips watch community think they are the only ones in the know. So many of them go for brands with poor QC or cheap in-house movements. Who died and made them the watch police? LMAO! 😉
I have a citizen cronomaster that everyone thinks I bought at Walmart not realizing it only looses 5 sec a year. And that’s okay, let them think what they want
I have the black version of this watch, quartz, and am still in love with it. I get tons of compliments on it and have even had people ask to see it up close. It’s beautiful and fairly priced. A notch below Tag but a great watch in its own right. Looks great when wearing suits.
That is a classy looking watch. I’m still good with quartz, more so lately. Nice to grab and go sometimes. I worry a lot less with a quartz watch on for sure...as far as activities go.
I had one of these once and loved it but switched to tag, but plan to get another of these watches. I think these are just very good quality fashion watches not a serious dive watch that's why there is no screw down crown or bright lume, but still amazing daily watch.
Victorinox puts out many rugged and reliable, both quartz and automatic. I am into rock climbing and I dare anyone to go up the side of a cliff wearing a Patek. By the way, Don, I always appreciate your candor. 😉
One of the reasons why I follow your channel is that you tell it like it is. I have never once heard you try to sell fluff. Far too many so-called RUclips "reviewers" are just hawkers peddling Chinese junk or "special editions," and "limited editions."
I have a black on black version and love it. From across the room it looks like a Submariner, lmao. My other watches are chunkier so it's my go-to dress option. Love the quartz, I never have to worry about it.
I bought a Maverick (rubber strap) 10 years ago, and the Quality and looks are better than many Tissots (in my opinión, but Tissots are great too), Victorinox make good Quality watches,
Most my watches are automatics but I do love my quartz as well, 2 of them both Seiko Tunas are pricey $1400 and $1700 so it’s not unheard off to spend that much for a quartz watch; love the blue tone of this victorinox you’re reviewing.
I've got an older Swiss army quartz, bought it used for less than $100, but I love it. I am envious of these newer Victorinox watches but they're pretty expensive these days. Not for a Swiss watch but they've gone a bit higher end the last several years. Your watch looks great.
I own many sub $600 quartz watches, and there is nothing wrong owning battery watches. They are tough and efficient. I hit many watches on door frames, counters, and steel doors. I dropped my expensive quartz watches to the floor, and they are still working.
I have had one of these with the black face and bezel for ten years. I got tired of replacing the rubber strap at $135.00 Canadian and bought a Victorinox Fieldforce with the day/date window and stainless band as a daily wearer. I smile every time I pick up either watch - the look and feel in the hand just exude quality and class. The case, face, back and band/bracelet of both watches outshine a lot of mechanical watches costing two or three times the price. The old Maverick is starting to show some honest wear though, and I do love the rotating bezel feature. So you will probably understand why I just ordered a brand new Maverick Chronograph, with the stunning dark green face and bezel that is currently available...
Hi, I'm new 2 your channel. Love this piece. I got the black quartz version of this same watch. It feels solid, really nice, accurate, and it keeps the time really well.
To be fair, my collection is something like 2/3 auto and the rest in quartz. I do not hate on quartz watches, but there is 2 points that makes me love automatic more than quartz. I like the sweep second of automatic, even if the best I have for a sweep second is a Bulova Precisionist, which is quartz, and the best compromise to me, a shame they don't carry on more with this movement. And the second point is the annoyance with miss alignement on quartz watch, that occurred to often in my experience, which make it way worse when you go up in prices. So those are the 2 main reasons I prefer automatic over quartz, but still I like to have some quartz, but I won't pay a lot for, unless I can have a look at it before to be sure there is no miss alignement, some of my best watches are quartz and I do like them, citizen with their eco-drive or Bulova with it Precisionist to name some. By the way, I am interested in some Victorinox and might pull the trigger on one of those in quartz one day. Thank you for the video and I wish you the best.

I don’t understand why they would include a wetsuit expansion when it’s clearly not a useable dive watch, no screw down, crown100m water resistant? Nice looking watch and I prefer quartz for a dive tool watch. Granted I don’t know anyone who dives today without a dive computer (or two) so a watch as a useful dive tool today isn’t even a belt and suspenders approach. Aside from that rant looks like a well made sharp watch as a desk diver I would prefer an auto but nothing wrong with a few quartz in the collection.
I own a maverick, bought it 12 years ago, I believe is the previous versión to this one, my first watch bought. I gotta say the saphire crystal is better than Mido's, other brand my father owns and with the pass of the years, you can conclude on some comparisons, amazing brand!
Just purchased this watch and got a Fluco Rubber strap for it. Looks great but realized the Pip on my watch does not glow. I can see the lume on it but doesn't glow at all. The hands do just fine.
I like quartz. I wear a watch to tell time. I do not like the idea of wearing a watch and have to check a battery powered clock or another watch to keep setting my automatic because it's not really that accurate.
Am I right in saying they have put a sapphire on the bezel? the bezel does NOT feel like aluminium or steel (at least the final surface you touch)? I prefer this to the INOX. Inox 43mm is too thick and bulky as an everyday ALL DAY wear. Love this watch. I have it in two tone grey and gold, but will pick it up in blue too. They do a chronograph version which is awesome too!
@@watchreport it feels as robust as sapphire/ceramic, never even heard of a lacquer bezel before. how long have you had yours and no scratches on bezel right?
@@ATIWatchReviews a few months. I want to say 4-5 months? It’s not worn hard, but cannot saw any discernible scratches on the bezel. I’m not sure what a lacquer finish is either. lol.
It's not about the price.. It's about wearing what you love..for the sake of an automatic at this price you would go and buy one but there will always be that guilt of not getting what you love and eventually one day or the other you would go and get that..
To me the only down of a quartz is the battery changing. Rotating watches in my collection I frequently find my quartz watches with dead batteries. If I didn’t rotate watches and only wore the same one it might not be an issue. But getting 4 batteries changed at a time is a pain
I just picked up the Seiko Astro 2022 and it's amazing. Might be a quartz but never have to replace the battery and accurate to 1 sec every 100,000 years. Let's see an automatic do that.
