People need to understand, when both American, Japanese, French, Argentenian, etc. comic writers write chapters, they use a technique called "writing for the trade" which means, they very specifically write story so it reads better in trade or tonkobon volume format. If you go back and read dressrosa, it reads amazingly as a volume. Chapter by chapter though, may not be the best experience.
That's great & all, but it does mean that the initial release is in a sub-optimum format. And the initial release is what most people will base their reactions on & their memories on. So if they are writing it to be best read as a ~10 chapter volume released every 3-4 months, then that's how it should be released instead of weekly.
@@ravenfal1496 well, in American comics, it's usually a 6 chapter arc. Manga are done a little differently, but yes, I agree. The people reading it weekly in manga format, or monthly in American format, don't necessarily have the best week to week or month to month experience. At least manga comes out a lot more quickly than American comics, And uses the "cliffhanger" ending a little more frequently, like old marvel comics used to do. Trying to create a self contained story within a chapter while building to something more. One piece has just gotten so large that it's near impossible to do now. But in your overall premise, I agree, being a weekly/monthly reader is very rough indeed at times for fans that love to keep up with it the second it drops.
I agree. It's important to remember that many manga creators, regardless of their nationality, utilize the "writing for the trade" technique. This means they intentionally structure their stories to be more impactful and cohesive when read in collected volumes tankobon rather than individual chapters. Dressrosa is a great example of this. When reading it as a whole, the story flows smoothly and the pacing feels well-balanced. However, if you were to read it chapter by chapter, the experience might feel disjointed and less engaging due to the intentional cliffhangers and pacing choices made with the collected volume in mind. This technique isn't unique to manga either. Many Western comic book writers employ similar strategies when crafting their stories for trade paperback collections.
We still haven't seen Shanks reaction, so surely we'll see him be like "phew, luckily the broadcast stopped before Vague-a-Punk could tell the D. message" just before the broadcast suddenly starts again and reveals it. Queue eyes-popping-out-surprised Shanks D. Snitch, York and the Five Seniles and I'm happy.
Might not be the place for this comment but I want to share a theory. Because Vegapunk was not able to reproduce Logia powers, this means that S-Croc will probably have a new devil fruit instead of the sand sand fruit. I think he will end up with the Chop Chop fruit. 1. Buggy was imprisoned in impel down and became a warlord, so they should have access to his bloodline elements, 2. It would be comedy gold because Croc would be humiliated, Mihawk would be annoyed because he can’t do shit to him, and Buggy will be devastated that a chid uses his devil fruit better than he does. 3. this could also contribute to buggy’s development as an emperor. He could learn from S-croc on how to use his devil fruit in more effective ways. I really hope this happens.
Smoker would need to join others for a joint rescue operation (Pudding Garp Moria Heart Pirates) and it would make an interesting arc, Liam is right Smoker probably hasn't told higher ups he's away with a mystery box as he has acted unilaterally many times in the past (might be his generations' Garp in orders = suggestions)
Doubt Ethan is Kitetsu, in the clash it looks like both Zoro and Ethan are saying "a Kitetsu Blade!" Doesn't seem likely that Ethan would refer to his own blade in the third person.
I’m not sure milk fixes teeth in the one piece universe, but they certainly do when close to a luffy who believes it does who has eaten what is literally the toon force fruit. Luffy has been doing toon force stuff way before awakening. Taking on shadows to become nightmare luffy, metabolizing food in seconds, healing wounds from meat and beating logias by spitting water
Im Guessing the Snail Vid is gonna continue next Chapter cause remember the narrator said that what happen on Egghead was crazy and if we dont finish that video it wont match up to Narrators Hype.
What about literally anything else. Everything he said we already know except for the sea rising but even that's implied. It's not some crazy revelation that Luffy is joyboy because we found out in wano. Everyone knew it was getting cut off too so why is everyone surprised. Oda is teasing but this message could change the world even cut off like this.
Blackbeard wouldn't know of the benefits of milk, it would be with a bowl of cereal in the morning or warm milk before bed. He doesn't have the context of those two points in time because he doesn't sleep.
I don’t think the elders will be exposed by vegapunk since it just doesnt feel like something he would after constantly saying he has no right to decide who is in the wrong. By defaming/exposing the elders he is clearly choosing a side
The Marines are there sent to kill VegaPunk whereas the pirates being the Giants, Bonney pirates, and Strawhat Pirates are sent there to save his life, so unlike the Netflix "adaptation" that thinks there's some bad eggs in the Marines both the anime and manga makes it crystal clear that the Marines are the bad guys.
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hrlook...in one piece there is no "good guys" as in any other regular series. Only Luffy ans his crew are good guys. Pirates in general are evil and this is why they are hunted down by the government. Most of them attack villages at random or conquer a territory for years. The government is the corrupt organization that need the pirates as bas guys so they can beat them abd the public think the government is a good entity. People think this anime ia about pirates being good lol. Even Whitebeard wasn't good.
I still want to know what Rocks did that was so bad. If the world government views him as pure evil wouldn't that mean that he would be good. The only point of reference that I can think of that Rocks was bad was that Roger fought him.
I'm just curious how the iron giant was even powered when it attacked mariejois because up to this point the only thing we've seen power him is luffy in gear 5. Did someone else awaken the nika fruit 200 years ago or was there another mother flame that powered him 200 years ago?
It’s funny that people think the broadcast is over. We haven’t discover anything. VegaPunk doesn’t mention any name except JoyBoy and doesn’t talk about his suspicions on the WG. Plus, Shaka said that even if people are trying to stop the broadcast, quote : « it’s a place they cannot reach » We’ll see next chapter 😊
9:14 This part made me realise Drake and Drake had some things in common. They both are male, didn't really have a father growing up and both pretended to be someone they are not. Drake charades as a Pirate and Drake charades as a Hip Hop artists, both pretend roles to gain access inside. Both once considered a big contender for their respective crowns.
Imagine the broadcast starts back up but from York's body as a backup and clearly not knowing how it got there or turn off she's met with the elders again with the good ol "destroy it to make it stop" tactic they are very keen on.
It doesn't make sense that Vegapunk would call out black beard as a fraud, black beard isn't very famous in the one piece world as opposed to the monkey family or the neferititi family. It's likely got to do with vivi's ancestor.
I think you've missed a beat with the traitor angle for the speech. Throughout the rest of the speech Vegapunk was clearly thinking about Luffy, both in his discussion on the ethics of who killed him, in talking about Nika's/Joy Boy's fighting style, small but specific details were dropped which indicate Luffy was on his mind. I think the rest of the speech will be about Luffy in some way.
@@garez7234 In 1113, Vegapunk states "I want to make one thing clear, and I pray you understand this... please do not assume that the ones who strike me down are evil... regardless of who they seem to be. ...I do not intend to discuss right and wrong here. I am not qualified to judge such things... and I do not know nearly enough about him in any case..."; after transcribing Vegapunk's speech I believe Vegapunk may have predicted Morgan's move to paint the strawhats as the murderers of Egghead. In 1114, Vegapunk says, "and just like the legendary sun god Nika from the fables of Elbaf, he too fought with a stretchy and elastic body"; admittedly, having reread this it's a lot less cut and dry than I originally thought - because I thought the "he too" part was stated without a specific person he was comparing Joy Boy to. Okay, rereading through the transcription I am seeing that I don't have a particularly great case.

Worth noting - milk *does not* restore teeth in the One Piece world for normal people. There is a reason why Brook and Luffy freaked out that Firetank Pirate grunt so bad when they did that, and it is because that *is not* how that works even in One Piece xD
I really wonder what causes the iron giant to awaken. As far as we know, there was no JoyBoy to awaken it last time. So, I wonder what caused it to awaken and attack Marie Joise 200 years ago?

How much do you wanna bet that the elders will still remain old and grey haired even after we get the ancient kingdom's flashback, They are like the Morgan Freeman of One piece
I believe the D in the will of D stands for devil or demon, they are called the enimies of the gods and to me that conjures demons and devils. White beard called luffy a "cheeky devil" and i think it would be thematically appropriate, also the DEVIL fruit may have a connection to the will of d too
Originally I considered the milk regrowing teeth and bones bit to be just that, a wacky and comedic bit and even accepted that it was possible in universe. But since the reveal of Gear 5 I'm willing to believe that it was Luffy's dormant Joyboy abilities to bring his imagination to life that caused his and Brook's regeneration. If I recall there were shocked reactions to this from other crewmates
I say IMU has three possible devil fruits if not more and his appearance can reflect this as well which is why he is shadowed. So a few ideas for this theory came up from people discussing his crown having three points and the three other gods being mentioned (God of the Forest, God of the Earth, and God if the Rain). Now this sounds a bit farfetched and I’m not fully into it, just like the concept but hear me out for a little while. Oda loves to foreshadow and we see arcs usually reflect one another to some extent throughout the series. Now I want to bring up Water Seven/Enies Lobby as a reference. Both arcs have the strongest version of the CP groups stated in their respective release dates (both having Kaku and Lucci). Both involve and individual that just wants to know the history of the world that the world government is targeting (in this case they couldn’t save Vegapunk unlike they did with Robin, but they did save a female who required help in the case of Bonnie). Both involve the Bustercall and also involve Giants being used to help the crew out as well as both arcs involve an ancient weapon but in this case the world government already has a recreation of one where in Enies Lobby they tried to get the blueprints to recreate another. Some subtle references that help connect the two but something I want to say is the fact that both arcs started with the water level increasing and reveal the fact that something is sinking (the worlds water level increasing compared to Water Seven being under threat of flooding then us being told the world will flood in this arc as the strawhats headed back to Water Seven after Enies Lobby which then had Iceberg saying how he was going to combat the island being flooded). This popped out to me a bit more as we can see more reflections in both scenarios. Then we can look at the island which no longer exists and Enies Lobby which are now just both holes in the ocean. More connections but none of these connections explains why I believe that IMU has three devil fruits. Now to get to that it is a weird reference but remember Baskerville. This massive figure that was of a high caliber to the marines in this arc that was then revealed to be three men in a costume. I find it humorous to say this but he might play an important part in showing that IMU is three people. First thing is the status and appearance in this arc. That plays a role but the name Baskerville was actually multiple names combined from the men. IMU is three letters, what if each letter is taken as meaning three hearts or that he’s a combination of three individuals (in a more serious way than Baskerville), I M U. Now people can point out that only the right was Kerville and the left was Bas but who was the middle?? Well of course his name is Princess and not just any Princess but specifically “The Princess” which was a funny little gag joke, but also it had me think about how IMU is obsessed with staring at PRINCESS Vivi. Random little connection but also wanted to state it as an idea to foreshadow and knowing Oda I wouldn’t put it past him to put a massive foreshadowing moment inside such a joke character. There’s more to the idea such as IMU has to be a villain that one ups the previous villains and one of the final villains Blackbeard was confirmed to have two devil fruits and it would be a fun nod to have IMU have three instead. Then there’s the notion of his crown having three points in every aspect that we see him. I also believe IMU has some devil reference to him such as the fact of his demonic tail piercing Cobra and demons usually have more than one heart although higher ranking demons tend to have around seven hearts. Also just a little something I know you GrandLineReview man will like is the fact that Blackbeard cannot sleep and he has multiple devil fruits and being tired usually means your eyes can get irritated and can make your eyes look bloodshot and what color is IMU’s very open eyes who don’t seem to have ever gotten a wink of sleep in the past hundreds of years?? I rest my case! Seriously though I like this idea and there could be more foreshadowing that can come out about IMU having multiple devil fruits and multiple hearts, but once I connected the dots here it became humorous and knowing Oda who just wants to have a good time with his story then I can very well see it being the case (also there can be references made to the Gods referenced and how it’s reflected that each is related to the government such as rain powder being controlled and banned by the Government, to an admiral being able to become plants and make a forest, and as well as the WORLD Government itself ruling the World. Each plays into the Rain God, Forest God, and World God).
yeah if it was something we readers already know, oda would've shown us the rest of that sentence. the fact that even we dont know how it ends means we dont know the information.
The broadcast got cut because Vegapunk cut earlier either by accident or else. Oda just wants to troll all OP fans thinking Den Den mushi in the Giant Robot.

The officiating translation has Mars saying "is it signal jamming?" Before cutting to York. Hitting the Iron Giant didn't so the broadcast, York jammed the broadcast
Remember when Oda said that there would be a battle with an unexpected defeat I think we’re about to see that soon as we’re approaching the end of this year and also the arc. I’m no oda but I feel like having a plot changing battle at the end of an arc is better than having it at the start of an arc
Right now we don’t know what black beard is up too and we know that shanks has just left too. It could possibly be a clash between them two. There’s also that iconic pannel of dragon staring off into the sky again lol

Either way the older Marines such as Sengoku will want to rescue or lay Garp's body to rest, Pudding needs to be rescued, Heart Pirates and Moria (Koby promise) there could be an oddball team-up operation to get all captured people back from BB
Garp and Moria are probably prison mates.

I think it just incentive to reread the story.

Smoker has retrieved Garp. That was the mission 🧠
And what if he wanted to say: "Among you is also the blood of gods / celestial dragons etc"
Aka Vivi
Interesting perspective, got me thinking!
"Among you there's also...someone who'll destroy the world as we know it."

What about literally anything else. Everything he said we already know except for the sea rising but even that's implied. Oda is teasing but this message could change the world even cut off like this.
Oooor it is referring to Vivi! Because she is the only D that Imu did not cut down (picture/poster)
I’m so excited to see how this goes…
Blackbeard wouldn't know of the benefits of milk, it would be with a bowl of cereal in the morning or warm milk before bed. He doesn't have the context of those two points in time because he doesn't sleep.
Oda has been edging us for decades. Who can honestly claim surprise now? 😂
I hope he edges us longer 😩
Assuming it means also.... I think he was going to say something about a Xebec/Teech type character from the void century

The government is the corrupt organization that need the pirates as bas guys so they can beat them abd the public think the government is a good entity.
People think this anime ia about pirates being good lol. Even Whitebeard wasn't good.
Good point
Plus, Shaka said that even if people are trying to stop the broadcast, quote : « it’s a place they cannot reach »

4:36 I love the face Robin makes in the animation 😭
It doesn't make sense that Vegapunk would call out black beard as a fraud, black beard isn't very famous in the one piece world as opposed to the monkey family or the neferititi family. It's likely got to do with vivi's ancestor.
Blackbeard is an emperor, he's significantly *more* known to the general public than say, Vivi's ancestor.
I agree I do not see why that would be the great secret the 5 elders do not want the world to know about.

Question: what could've possibly woke up the giant 200 years ago if it was luffy's drumbeat that woke it up recently...?
I think you've missed a beat with the traitor angle for the speech. Throughout the rest of the speech Vegapunk was clearly thinking about Luffy, both in his discussion on the ethics of who killed him, in talking about Nika's/Joy Boy's fighting style, small but specific details were dropped which indicate Luffy was on his mind. I think the rest of the speech will be about Luffy in some way.
What were the “small specific details”?

White beard called luffy a "cheeky devil" and i think it would be thematically appropriate, also the DEVIL fruit may have a connection to the will of d too
I'm still surprised how many youtubers can still afford to live in Sydney, well done, I always wondered where in fact you were located
What If Garp is about to become the Ace of a new Paramount War w Luffy n the Grand Fleet vs Blackbeard n the Navy
yeah if it was something we readers already know, oda would've shown us the rest of that sentence. the fact that even we dont know how it ends means we dont know the information.
"...mo' money, mo' problems" - Vegapunk 2024
The broadcast got cut because Vegapunk cut earlier either by accident or else. Oda just wants to troll all OP fans thinking Den Den mushi in the Giant Robot.
Speaking of inconsistency of Blackbeard, his nose also drawn differently among other chapters. This got me on the three person in one body theory.
I really hope Gin's cameo wasn't just a cameo. I would love it if he reappeared as a major ally should the Straw Hats go to Hachinosu, and we know they will.
My family used to sell fruits and veggies from our farm there in the parking lot.
I mean the Blackbeard vs Shanks matchup is definitly going to happen. It has been teased since marineford and Shanks is actively looking for him too.
Isnt the Proadcast of Vegapunk somewhat a battle of Wits with the Elder Planets that hat a world Changing reveal in it? For me its totaly Possible that he just meant that.
I like how when discussing the ‘no’ particle he opts for two completely unrelated anime as opposed to "Gomu Gomu no…" for one of Luffy’s attacks or *any* akuma no mi 😂
I think the message will be shown to continue at the end of the next chapter with there being another transponder snail elsewhere as a contingency because I think vegapunk is too smart as to not have a backup for a message this important.
Part of me thinks Ethan isn't Kitetsu but an old friend of his. Kitetsu created the strongest sword and gave it to Ethan but after Ethan started to serve Imu, Kitetsu tried creating a sword that could help defeat his old friend but it only got weaker with each subsequent sword
The Blackbeard pirates could hold a reverse Marineford with Garp, I can only imagine Luffy and the World Government pulling up for that fight.
it seems no one has thought of this but my big theory is that they all have the immortality surgery and they were given the surgery at different times. like maybe 200 years apart and such, they all dress differently as if from different times in history. all given the surgery meaning losing 5 Ope-Ope nomi users.
