My only gripe is the cutscenes. The first game's pixel art cut scenes really set the tone and darkness of game, giving it this very ominous vibe. I know a few people that gave Blasphemous 1 a shot solely because of how intriguing they found the cutscenes to be. It was definitely one of the highlights of the first game for me. But other than that everything looks to be a major improvement.

I’m amazed at how smooth and beautiful the animation is. This is probably the most anticipated release of the year to me.

I am happy the Spanish developers are getting more recognition!

  • @wujekbandzior

Damn, I was really looking forward to pixel art cutscenes. Too bad that they’re no longer in the sequel. 😢

man i cannot wait... 1 week baby. this looks like a true sequel, improving on blasphemous in nearly every way. so excited to discover all the secrets in this game.

Maybe it's just me, but I like the vine execution a lot. Sure, there are fewer unique animations for executions now but there's something about having a consistently efficient killing blow that's satisfying in its own way. Bloodborne comes to mind, where the visceral attack never gets old despite being simple. Another thing is the speed. Knowing that the vine attack is fast makes me comfortable going for it even if there are other enemies around. It's a small thing, but it's something I noticed that contributed to the game feeling better than Blasphemous 1 for me.

Damn, I'm impressed! Not just by the game, but by your review.

    Nice review my friend

Looking forward to it, thanks. I like the other style in the cutscenes. Reminds me of how NES game manuals had characters or enemies drawn in that style, and I looked through them and imagined if the game could ever look as good as in those manuals lol.
