    ABOUT NUCLEAR FOR AUSTRALIA:
    Nuclear for Australia is Australia's largest campaign for nuclear energy. Our aim is to disseminate information about nuclear energy to help advance and inform the debate.
    Nuclear for Australia is a registered charity. The organisation is proudly non partisan and is currently chaired by the former CEO of ANSTO and nuclear science advocate, Dr Adi Paterson.

    The reason why we're sharing this is because today Dan Repacholi MP claimed that Dr Adi Paterson is not a nuclear expert.

    A pistol shooter turned mine truck driver versus an expert in nuclear plant operations, who has a Bachelor in Science and Chemistry and a PhD in Engineering. Listen to the experts Labor always says, except when it goes against their narrative.

    In a political environment such as today with the possible threat of China. Labor seeks to make us more reliant upon Chinese solar panels and wind turbines and the raw materials to make them. Not only are unreliables unreliable but they are also not secure, more expensive and worse for the environment when compared with proven, reliable, secure, cheap, abundant, emissions free nuclear.

    Australia is very rich in resources and we subsidise?
    What royalties do we receive from the foreign corporations?
    What taxes do we collect?
    Norway 🇳🇴 and Qatar 🇶🇦 earn billions of dollars for the people. Why does Australia allow its resources to be exploited and not receive the highest benefits?
    Australia has imposed sanctions on Russian oils? India buys the diesel and sells it to Singapore and then it sells to Australia for a very high price. Why are we allowing this to happen? Why are private companies charging each and every one of us high prices for our resources? Australia is going to be left behind, because BRICS has just established new currency markets and represents a great majority of the population on earth. We are losing 📉

    Australia is in the Sahara Desert latitudes of the southern hemisphere.
    European countries want to use Sahara Desert solar potential, but putting their army into the Sahara nations to protect the infrastructure from political violence and damage is not viable.
    Australia is politically stable and could be the world's best location for renewable energy, for energy intensive manufacturing.

      Australia has coal....
      Lots and lots of it !

    • @stephenbrickwood1602
      @stephenbrickwood1602 14 дней назад

      @turnyourbacktoit exactly.
      If climate change is not a problem Australia is wasting time and money and effort.
      If populations collapse then carbon emissions will collapse and Australia can cause little impact on the planet is we keep using coal.

    • @stephenbrickwood1602

      @AquaMarine1000 just an example is the aluminium smelters.
      Aluminium is called "solid electricity" as a joke.
      Aluminium smelting is at the coal mine because the coal fired generators are located on the coal fields.

    One nuclear plant could see 45,000 rooftop solar systems shut off each day
    Sophie Vorrath
    22 July 2024 2:11 PM
    “This means the equivalent of an average of 45,000 Queensland household solar systems would need to be shut off every day. We would be shutting off cheap energy, like people’s rooftop solar, to allow expensive nuclear power to run.

    • @rudugger_5188
      @rudugger_5188 14 дней назад

      Wow ... because the solar power in Australia has made people's bills so cheap and brought back manufacturing to Australia in unprecedented growth levels ... ridiculous fear mongering and horribly disingenuous.

      Sending our coal to China and receiving solar panels cheap ?
      You have got it bad.
      Solar costing in Australia is approaching $1T....
      now how cheap is that ?

    • @polarbear7255
      @polarbear7255 14 дней назад +4

      Yet nuclear energy delivers electricity at half the price per kWh as grid scale solar. So it will be far cheaper than what a home hobby solar installation will deliver.
      Solar pv is not cheap… rooftop solar and batteries are paying for your electricity up front and being responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of the system. It is not efficient or economical.
      A nuclear reactor is an energy factory that means you can just not need rooftop solar at all and be far more efficient.

      Nuclear works 24/7...
      Like coal...
      Solar works on sunny days, no power at night, provided ALL panels are sound, inverter is functioning correctly AND connected to coal fired power.
      How ironic !

      What's the cost of replacing solar panels, wind turbines and batteries every 15-20 years and their disposal? I'll wager far more of a nuke pant is recyclable compared with panels, turbines and batteries.

    • @ynocoolnamesleft

      @paythepiper6283 well at worst they'll go to landfill, but same can't be done with a nuclear plant, I think that was the main argument against it

    A friend's upgrade to 3phase electricity supply is costing $5,000.
    Say 20million x $5,000 is $100BILLION.
    And he still has gas hotwater.
    He has 2 ICE vehicles.
    So grid electricity upgrade construction cost is in the $millions per km and $TRILLIONS for each additional capacity increase.
    Nuclear central generation is a dead duck.

      @rudugger_5188 fossil fuels are 7 times more than electricity usage in Australia.
      So 100% nuclear electric future is 7 times more grid electricity capacity.
