Thank you! I'm glad to see a video about add-ins, but sad that you have to do your reviews without them. 😃 Have you tried Chinese black vinegar? I make a dipping sauce with black vinegar, home made chili oil, and soy sauce. It is good on dumplings of all sorts, but I also love it on ramen! Oh, also smoked beef (brisket, tri-tip, etc) - SO GOOD!
Such is the nature of reviewing, unfortunately, although I do have a potential few add-in videos I would want to do if there were enough demand. I have used black vinegar on dumplings but never tried it with ramen. Sounds like it would add a really nice zip to it!
Thank you for not doing the voiceovers to match your hands or the reverse... It is so much better and more natural. Really nice videos! Straight to the point and not over thinking it. Keep them up!
Ha, well... I actually did re-record my voice for the first 15 episodes because I wasn't happy with the live sound quality, but you're right, it gives off an unnatural vibe even when you try to match your own vocal cadence. Plus it's a huge pain in the ass to edit! I've since switched to a wireless lapel microphone and haven't looked back. Learning the ropes about recording and editing is still a work in progress, but I'm glad to see people are enjoying the end product.
Really enjoyed this one. Love all of those in instant ramen but i've never fried scallions before! I also like a squirt of Hoisin or Oyster sauce most of the time 😅
I've found over the last year that scallion oil is the unsung hero of the culinary world. It's fast and easy to make, and it is absolutely packed with flavor. You could make an incredible sauce using literally nothing but oil and a dozen scallions if you have the inclination. So I figured it was a perfect pairing for these noodles.
I would like to recommend a condiment from a small company that I believe comes from California that I purchased small batch soy sauce from, as well as soy sauce salt, and miso but their chilly crisp has a wonderful flavor. I wouldn't really say it spicy but it does have a really good flavor. I'm not sure what spices they add to it but it really kicks up ramen in a whole different direction. It also has sesame seeds in it. It's about 10 bucks I believe and the company's name is CinSoy Foods.
hmm im definitely gonna look into that as i acrtually live in california :] at first i thought you were talking about fly by jing chili crisp. i am a chili cirpst fanatic so im always looking for new brands to try :]
You have no idea how much I appreciate you! By the way, after my binging your videos all afternoon, my kids are now referring to you as “Creepy Noodle Hands”. 😂 I asked them why it is creepy, and they told me the music… which, in their opinion, is “clearly trying to hypnotize people”. 😂 (They are 10 and 12, so please don’t take offense!)
🤣🤣🤣 I guess in a way I am trying to hypnotize people into buying tasty noodles! It's funny, up until now most folks have said that they find the music (which was just a random ambient track I liked from RUclips's free library) to be kind of chill and soothing, but kids always have the funniest perspectives.
Thank you for the guide, I really appreciate how you detailed the process on seemingly simple stuff. As somebody not very good at cooking, it helped a lot.
Happy to help! I purposefully filmed it that way because you never know what level of cooking experience your viewers might have. I'm really glad you found it useful.
Thank you!

I had not thought to use furikake on noodles. That hot miso sauce definitely does give a kick though! 🥵
Yep, furikake works very well, and that particular variety from Mishima is specifically recommended for noodles.
