The amount of stress I've been enduring past few days is overwhelming, but could finally take a deep breath and calm down for a good hour because of this beautiful piece if art. Hope whoever reads this find peace and calm, even if for a short hour
I was led to a transcendent state of being with the last song just now, and by the voice of this talented singer. As I read your comment, what came to mind is that you allowed it. Many people are going through immense stress but don't allow themselves to leave everything aside, truly forget about it all, and merge with their listening experience. You know the path, you allow this repose to your soul, and probably deep down you know what really matters.
I know you've been struggling with thoughts of suicide. Listen if you will There is a way to be free from the bondage of your past, It does not define you whatsoever. Be reborn in CHRIST, who gave up his own life in love, that you may live your life in mercy You are entitled nothing. But the mercy of God gives you a fountain of life no gold on this earth can match Cry out to God for mercy, even though you are merciless Cry out to God for hope. There is hope for the hopeless
How wonderful is it that we can finally somewhat hear and experience women's intimate experiences from more than 500 years ago. I was introduced to the concept of Chansons de toile 20 years ago by a french singer (Émilie Simon) I really adore. Back then, a 12 years from a poor family with no education and no knowledge of musical theory, it was impossible to grasp what the term meant musically, only it's historical background (and information was really limited). And now I am blessed with this amazingly middle of the night discovery. I am a Hildegard Von Bingen fan, so this complements it well. Thank you so much, it touched my soul.

After reading the description, it’s both comforting and disturbing to know that people never change...and people’s inner lives in the medieval period are not much different then our own. We’ve always had our unrealistic fantasies of love and romance 🧚🏼♂️
Yes, I agree with you, there are not many differences from medieval people to us, except that they invented the idea of romanticism and they didn’t judge any other era by thinking that they were better...
Yes, people remain the same in core responses. La toile is French for cloth. So perhaps a translation of the title would be "weaving songs" or "spinning songs", with the idea that the songs were sung by women while weaving?
Embroidery was very much an activity for upper class women. Not so much weaving as anything related to embellishing cloth. Weaving and spinning really was more for the peasants.
