  • Well good news for him cause he thought it was much worse, turns out it's just an oil pressure sensor and he wanted me to do all the seals belts and water pump. So maybe we will still do belt job while we are here. But his big concern was the oil leak, and well has nothing to do with his timing cover, cam or crank seals. but yep where I show you is the oil pressure switch/sensor that works the light on the dash when the oil is low, had nasty leak, not hard to get at, you don't have to pull timing cover to get to it! it's there below your alternator basically before the cover, all you need is an il pressure socket to get on it and a ratchet to break it loose

    EVERYONE ELSE on RUclips only show oil leaks related to the seals or gaskets in or around the camry's oil pump but YOU are the ONLY one to highlight a DIFFERENT possible source of all these oil leaks---THANK YOU!!! did u use genuine toyota part or go for the AutoZone limited LIFETIME WARRANTY switch? I went w/ genuine TYTA part b/c I find sensors can be off when made by non-manufacturer companies

      Thank you for awesome comment, I ended up getting one from the zone but yeah your better off with oem part I never did share the part info, kinda forgot but I bet this is common vs other leaks and lot easier repair then what he thought it was

    Hey! My highlander was loosing 1 quart every other day and the repair shop quoted me thousands of dollars to ( replace lower oil pan, reseal upper oil pan, replace valve cover gasket, timing belt and accessories replacement). I watched your video and found that the only cause of the fast leak was the faulty oil pressure sensor that they never found. I replaced it myself and cost $14 instead of $xxxx THANKS YOU MADE MY DAY

      Actually I didn't notice till cover was off, but you can access it without removing cover, it's kinda in a hard to see location but lot less stress then doing crank seal

    i have the same problem on an old avalon. how do you get the old sensor out???? theres no grooves for a socket?? but the new sensor is premade as a socket. No room for vise grip either unless i buy a 90 degree tool, but then it might just crack the connector off.

  • @hunterharison

      3.0l?, same spot as in this vid should be, you don't have take timing cover off he wanted me to do cam and crank seals but I checked and found that sensor leaking bad as seen in vid here, I did this to show him

    • @bongkolan
      @bongkolan 6 лет назад +1

      RANS87IROCZ thank you bro!! Yes, its 3.0L. I will only use floor jack and jack stand. I think its hard to take it from the top. I will probably take out the tire and the plastic cover to access from the side. Good job bro!! You're an honest mechanic.. and helpful...
