Thanks for your thoughts. I've been selling on eBay for a long time. While sourcing at Goodwill, etc. I have never purchased art until this week. I found an interesting original oil painting. My question is: have you found any good resources to help ID, and otherwise research the pieces that you find? Other than Google Lens, and using social media, I am running out of ideas. Other than the antiques road show

purchased a pair of natiive american watercolors from online auction a few weeks ago. paid 3 dollars plus shipping i think was 12 i sold the pair for 200 in 2 days. priced to move i cant afford to sit on it.

so i just spotted the lalique dove trinket dish on your etsy. i love lalique last year i had to watch a 5k dollar lalique vase go for 85.00 becasue i didnt have the money. im still sick over it.
Oh wow! Sorry to hear that. I love Lalique too, although in 5 years of thrifting I only found 2 pieces :)
How do you go about finding out the artists of the pieces and also how do you package the art to make sure it won't get damaged in transit? I have a pretty big collection of pieces I've collected over the years but didn't know enough about the subject to feel confident in listing them.

One good thing about selling on eBay and Etsy is that both companies have partnerships with all the major shipping companies. You get some really nice discounts.

i cant sell art on ebay. and i have great deals for great art ebay cheats me out of traffic ill have 1 or 2 views in a week. and i pay them money thats bs
Yeah eBay can be really hard to get traffic until people start following your store. I have a lot of listings that only have a couple views too.
