I realize it's an unavoidable reality for a lot of people, but man oh man I am utterly disgusted by the mere thought of having roommates, especially if they're strangers that I know nothing about. It's one thing if it is a long-time friend you know and trust, someone you know to be clean and respectful before you even move in together, but random strangers? Heck no. I'd rather live in my car than to put up with strangers in shared communal spaces.
This was the one thing I could never get used to being in college. I went from an abusive household that woke me up at 5 am because there was a couple crumbs on the counter tops to there being dirty dishes on the dirty counter tops (yes, the roommates did clean it up eventually)
When I first met my bf his roommates did that, and every time I came over they were soaking in the same water and my bf would clean everything even tho it smelled like a turtle creek in there. Then I told him hey they make the mess, and are leaving it because you’re cleaning it, just clean your stuff so he did every time we wanted to cook, but it only got worse. By the time we finally got him out of there into our own place they had ruined a bit of his kitchen ware and it smelled so bad you couldn’t go into the kitchen let alone near the sink without gaging. Still had to throw some pots and utensils away when we were unpacking in our apartment. There is way more that happened, but definitely can relate to shitty roommates who don’t do dishes 🤦🏻♀️
I was raised in a house that was pretty clean all the time. Of course in a house with three kids it couldn't be spotless, but we cleaned up after ourselves. Now that I've moved out I'm even cleaner since I don't have any kids. I can't stand mess. She made it further than I would have. Even thinking about bugs in my kitchen makes me itchy 😓😖

Sorry you grew up with that. Hope you are ok now
@elizabethfranzone3046 Yes, I’m fine! It’s been 3 years since I last spoke to them and I couldn’t feel more freer and happier! 👍🏾

I remember hearing this story a while ago and I’m quite satisfied with the ending. Like… it’s normal but nobody was too mean spirited

Tik tok is not working anymore so i had tk come here to watch this. Im glad you created a RUclips channel. ❤
My house works on a ‘if you don’t cook and you ate it you do dishes’ basis.
No bc that’s actually my fear, guys specifically have a record of not washing dishes so imagining my friends or partner like that, scares me

This makes me not miss my early 20’s and navigating cleaning with roommates.
