We never knew why Xol’s body made into a weapon and a few taken were in some random ass vex area. Maybe “the great quiet thing, the *not* worm” is connected to Xol.
I wish that we had some portals that would move us to other sandbox areas, like after defeating the conductor failsafe finds a way to connect to those portals and use them to transport us to other places

I died before the lab area just before you telport over, and I revived in a cave with a red buff like the green, yellow, and blue you dunk in the mission. So there is definitely a lot more to this mission that we haven't reached yet

For what it's worth, if going through that portal takes you to the Whisper Caves, that means taking you to Io. Io, which no longer "exists". And it's not a simulation like the now Whisper mission is as stated by the quest Eris gives you.
Sure, but the portal that shows us this location is within that specific version that is "A Simulation" and all over this exotic mission we've been dealing with Simulations, so its more likely that portal leads into the simulation of the mission since vex are all about simulations, and not to the real io then, right?

My personal opinion is that there's a kind of meta narrative where everything that exists in the Destiny universe is just a simulation (a video game played by us). The Nine and Savathun have made references to this several times. In fact, Savathun wants to escape their reality, breaking through the fourth wall into our own reality.
You do need to do the first conflux to unlock the other two. The others just wont spawn that run if you skip it since it's what unlocks that room to transfer between the puzzles. It's legitimately a hub room it seems
Have you seen the blinking vex eyes in the area where you jump with those orbs that catapult you up? After the first jump turn back around and go to the ledge. Equip Wichender and you see red floating vex eyes. If you have Wishender active while jumping you see the backside, bright white dots floating there. And the exact same eyes are in the HELM, also only visible with Wishender (you can see that on a crappy phone recording on my channel, I switch through my weapons and you see the eyes dissappear.)

I feel loke like the first portal was the vex searching for a way to stretch their influence possibly aetheon looking to expand the vault of glass but the 2nd given the encore mission's ties to maya sundaresh i feel this one is the work of her n she was looking to recruit taken for her army
That would be cool if bungie added a secret EE like how COD BO2 did. Also maybe the oracle sounds from Last Wish will finally mean something. Because a cross activity EE would truly make this mission something bigger than what it already is.
I do believe when opening a secret chest a Maya copy gives hint to a solo friend accompanying all the copys of the Ishtar colective team. Fingers crossed praedyth gets some scene time or mentioned. His story has been building up since the beginning.
Great video. My only real complaint with the new exotic is the fact you have to run it again on expert mode. I dont play in a fire team as i just solo so that im not tied to going where ever the group goes. Im fine in giving it a try on expert as long as im not on a timer…..took long enough for me the first time, but then again i did kinda meander around checking things out, and dying lots cause of it too😂.
Went in blind for the first time on expert as a duo fireteam and was able to improvise. It's nice that there's no time limit like other missions. I think the main issue is in that choral mind boss fight, if you don't 2 phase him at first, it seems to be bugged where the 'weak point' you shoot to remove its shield doesn't spawn in and the only solution is to wipe. Might be tricky depending on how good your damage is solo, but once they fix that issue it should be plenty doable for solo players that like to go more slow and cautiously.

@@jeremymatthies726 yeah from what I've heard it's kinda random, just most common if not done in 2 phases for the first 'phase'. There's surprisingly not that many respawn restricted zones on expert like you'd expect there to be. Just a lot of void shields and barrier hobgoblins

I did solo expert first then ran the specimen quest because the conflux only spawns once you’ve done the specimen quest and then ran encore on normal for the catalyst

This is exactly why Sony is on Bungie’s tail. An exotic mission just to progress the story. I didn’t even bother to finish it.
At a lower FoV it becomes much easier to line up the same as the Whisper portal image.

There's another secret area I found with 3 triangle portals one white and sandy, one mossy and one red.
I was teleported to a room with 2 red mechanic nodes after dying in the 3rd puzzle room with a similar inactive portal… couldn’t get out
