I actually really enjoyed the "Slow" first few episodes. I had never heard of Devilman until I saw it on Netflix. The only insight I had was the description. Needless to say, I'm still in tears 8 hours later.

I'd say this animation was on par with the animation from the worst of the CDI games. I could tell what they were going for somewhat, but there was no fluidity whatsoever. Every texture and surface was so flat it looked like a 10th grader could have pencil drawn it. It's like they didn't even reach the stage of drawing where you add details to things. So confused as to how this even passed any studio's QA standards?????

Knights of Sidonia has cg and visually its one of the best anime out there. I think it's just not for everyone but I love the art style, Ajin is pretty good too
Phantom There's also an anime that came out last year that's called Land of the Lustrous and it's completely cg and its one of the best looking anime to come out last year.

(never watched anime) Wth...... I watched 5 episodes in a row. I'm hooked. Couldn't believe my eyes when they went to the Sabbat party...
I almost pissed myself when i saw this in my recommended feed. HELL YEAH! And the animation looks really cool, not as detailed as the OVAs, but definitely sleek and stylish in its own right.
This show is a masterpiece. My friends all hated it and thought it was terrible & honestly that’s because if you don’t connect with the main character then it’s tough to care about any of it . But the show is deep man. Really really deep. A ton of truth on how humans are including our selves. The way we form mobs and shit. And that ending will just leave you depressed for weeks. I couldn’t stop thinking about it for a long time. It kinda messes with my head to be honest. Probably the most emotional I have been in a long time

Gabriel Morningstar the director usually uses this type of animation. Of you like it, i recommend you to watch "Tatami Galaxy" (a dark comedy with the best use of animation i've ever seen) and "Ping Pong" (also great)
Gabriel Morningstar kinda wished studio trigger (ppl that worked on gurran lagann before leaving gainax then later work on kill la kill and little witch academia.) worked in this. Their animation style is inspired by old go nagai affiliated animes like mazinger z so be cool if they did the new devilman series to resemble nagai style much closer. Plus scenes of bloodshed and such fits perfectly with triggers animations.

If you are septikal, because of the way he make his craziness just start with " Ping Pong the animation". It's one of his best work and it's not too strange. But keep in mind that you don't understand his work, you feel it.

I strongly recommend you watch Yuasa's other works. Kaiba and Tatami Galaxy are in my top 10 for anime, they really leave you thinking. Think Pewdiepie also mentioned liking Kaiba at one point.

I just read an audio book called Super Powereds and the English voices for Akira and Ryo sound like the same voice actor who did all the voices for the book. Just goes to show how talented voice actors can be, whether for a book or animation.
This was my first official anime, and let me tell you, what an intense trip. The story is heartbreaking but incredibly impactful. The symbolism, historical, and biblical context have left me deeply affected. If you understand or the themes of divinity, God, Lucifer, and everything in between is something you are attracted in learning and thinking, this is an anime that will leave you thinking for days and weeks. It will definitely change your perspective on life and divine orders. I am not the same after watching this anime; it's a masterpiece. At the end of the day, the great mission and lesson for us to learn as humanity, and from Lucifer himself, is: Love. Learn to love. As long as we don't truly learn to love, we will be condemned for eternity, trapped in an endless loop.

The animation is awesome the story is while slightly rushed completely exhilarating the writing is good, the characters are likable (although that could be counted as a flaw for this show) However if you dislike blood, guts, nudity, and depressing things this is not for you. Like seriously Neon Genesis Evangelion and Doki Doki literature club combined has a more happy ending and less emotional pain than this show does. If that dissuades you then this show probably isn't for you. If not I hope you have fun

I just realized Production I.G. Could've also reached out to Netflix and made the following seasons through Netflix as a Netflix Original so that it could be in it's purest and rawest form. Kind of like what they did with Devilman. Like after seeing Devilman Crybaby and seeing it became a Netflix Original, A door just opened to raw and uncut anime with complete creative freedom that could really change the industry and introduce new ideas as well as outstanding production for these series.

Masaaki Yuasa back at it again. This Guy is just a god of crazy emotional art. The Picasso of anime. If you are septikal, because of the way he make his craziness just start with " Ping Pong the animation". It's one of his best work and it's not too strange. But keep in mind that you don't understand his work, you feel it.

Pewdiepie brought me here. I watched this in one sit. Got to say, Netflix did indeed a very good job. I'm not a anime fan, but this series had so much depth, and a very important message. 10/10 .. Powerful. Loved it. Touched me in ways I never thought it would. Highly recommend this series.
I strongly recommend you watch Yuasa's other works. Kaiba and Tatami Galaxy are in my top 10 for anime, they really leave you thinking. Think Pewdiepie also mentioned liking Kaiba at one point.

I just read an audio book called Super Powereds and the English voices for Akira and Ryo sound like the same voice actor who did all the voices for the book. Just goes to show how talented voice actors can be, whether for a book or animation.

This was my first official anime, and let me tell you, what an intense trip. The story is heartbreaking but incredibly impactful. The symbolism, historical, and biblical context have left me deeply affected. If you understand or the themes of divinity, God, Lucifer, and everything in between is something you are attracted in learning and thinking, this is an anime that will leave you thinking for days and weeks. It will definitely change your perspective on life and divine orders. I am not the same after watching this anime; it's a masterpiece.
At the end of the day, the great mission and lesson for us to learn as humanity, and from Lucifer himself, is: Love. Learn to love. As long as we don't truly learn to love, we will be condemned for eternity, trapped in an endless loop.
*maybe spoilers* Binge watched entire show in a night. IT IS GREAT. The animation is awesome the story is while slightly rushed completely exhilarating the writing is good, the characters are likable (although that could be counted as a flaw for this show) However if you dislike blood, guts, nudity, and depressing things this is not for you. Like seriously Neon Genesis Evangelion and Doki Doki literature club combined has a more happy ending and less emotional pain than this show does. If that dissuades you then this show probably isn't for you. If not I hope you have fun

The only one worth watching is the Tv show from the 90s and that's just a prologue.

I swear to God, this was the best anime i ever seen. It was so traumatic, yet so beautiful... I loved every minute.
I just realized Production I.G. Could've also reached out to Netflix and made the following seasons through Netflix as a Netflix Original so that it could be in it's purest and rawest form. Kind of like what they did with Devilman. Like after seeing Devilman Crybaby and seeing it became a Netflix Original, A door just opened to raw and uncut anime with complete creative freedom that could really change the industry and introduce new ideas as well as outstanding production for these series.

But after a month or so went by and everything finally sank in, I saw the beauty in it and the point it was trying to make. Now it's in my top 10 animes 😂

saw promotions for this at an anime convention and while it definitely caught my attention, i only picked it up after everyone on my twitter timeline went crazy over it (miraculously avoided all sorts of spoilers) and it was the best decision i've made this month. definitely worth the watch!!

Finally got round to watching this years later. Benn stuck in a hole of not wanting to watch new content for a while. Put this on last night and ended up binging the whole thing which I haven't done with a show in a while. My heart hurts today.
I'm still so bittersweet about this one. It's so beautiful, definitely worth watching
