      NP here. Dr Martin you are one cool dude! From your outdoors interest to MMA to being a neurosurgeon. I thought of going to Med school before going to NP school, but I couldn't imagine dedicating that many years to become a MD. The number of years one dedicates to become a Neurosurgeon is inspirational. Thank you for all you do! You are an inspiration to everyone in the health care field.

    I’m a last year medical student from Norway, and I really enjoy your videos. You’re able to talk about one of the most abstract and complex organs in a way that both people with and without prior medical knowledge can enjoy. You must be great to do rounds with! Keep up the good work:)

    A true neurosurgeon indeed. You know why? Even a kindergartener would understand what he just said. That's how amazingly well he just simplified this case.

    You have a great way of explaining the complex (brain) into something even my two year old nephew would understand. Only an expert is able to do this. I hope to see more of these type of videos, where you incorporate neurosurgery into situations of an “everyday situation”. All the best.

      To all who read my comments1I truly believe Bob Saget s death is a homicide. I believe he had 0real friends was just an Island into himself possibly had ausbergers. I e. the random outbursts and immediate apologies afterwards. 4:walk that mile everyone how do you get a one inch by one inch "gash" as stated by coroner without blood? only after death and how does it get at the top of your skull? imagine you part your hair down the middle, at the end in back of skull is placement of gash. Impossible. Have you never seen even a sm cut or head wound? you bleed like mad.

I always try to connect my knowledges and to get a bigger picture. I always ask myself about anatomy and pathophysiology in my every day life. Thank you Dr. Rutkowski

    Joanna is my Polish sister also so when I seen her injury live on PPV and as a paramedic I knew what this injury was, a subdural hematoma that needed surgery as soon as possible, but thank you doctor for explaining the injury much more in-depth. Thank you for another awesome video.

    • @FSXXtreme
      @FSXXtreme 2 года назад

      Lol bro this is not a subdural hematoma you won’t see the swelling on the face or scalp if it’s subdural or even epidural. Read about the dependent area of face 😃.

    My little brother passed away after a head injury received during a car accident caused by a drunk driver. They said his brain stem was snapped in half basically and they could not save him. Could you please be honest with me and tell me if this is true or if the surgeon just screwed up?

    Would you say this is the same injury Rory McDonald had when he fought robbie the second time? I remember watching that fight and being worried. Or do you think the swelling came directly from a broken orbital bone?

    Subgaleal haematoma occurs occasionally in newborn babies, and it is associated with vacuum delivery. Blood loss into the haematoma can cause haemorrhagic shock in a baby. The baby’s head can swell quickly and the appearance is very alarming. It is treated with blood transfusion and occasionally requires surgery to evacuate the haematoma and cauterize the blood vessel responsible.

    Hi doctor great channel. Curious on your thoughts about Bob Saget's autopsy results. They're now saying Bob died of a subdural hematoma to the back of his head. What type of blow would cause a brain bleed like that ? Does age or medications like blood thinners weigh into this ?

    Hello Martin! I’m Andrew from Ukraine. I was doing boxing over 10 years ago. During one of the training sessions I got a bare knuckle punch in my temple. I applied cold and lots of other stuff but it helped a little. Now it affects my quality of life to the point that sometimes it’s difficult to walk. Is it possible to talk to you about it?
