The larger Archimedean solids are a lot of repetition. I'm redoing some of the basic solids with a bit more math (and less geometry) this is to see if I can find better workflows for the later Archimedean solids etc.
@@KristianLaholm The sketch is indeed simple but I haven’t yet understood the maths/geometry behind the fact that:- length of the side of the rectangle (separation distance of the dodeca faces) = (2 x centre of pentagon to edge) + (centre of pentagon to point) More head scratching required.
this works great, but when i try to scale it, it will get distorted. The reason for this is the polygon which is the base for the loft (14:33). If I chance the size in the first sketch, the loft Polygon gets out of the pentagram shape which will screw up the dodecahedron. Is there a trick to lock the Polygonshape of the pentagon at 14:33? & Thanks for the brilliant method!
Kristian. Wow. Brilliant solutions! Thank you for sharing.
WOAH! You've have blown my mind. That is some top drawer mathematics going on there.
Thank you.
I miss these mathematical solids videos. I've been waiting for you to finish off the Archimedean solids.

Good work. I can't think of a workflow with fewer steps.
Thank you. The first sketch can be removed and replaced with equations, but the sketch is simple and solves the dimension part nicely.

SHOCK!!! I spent a lot of time but created some kind of cuttlefish!!!! But here everything is so simple and beautiful!!!😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲
Welcome to my strange and beautiful world. Do NOT feed the Unicorns ;)

Yes I found out again that you are better than me in Fusion. Always same result.
I could not calculate the ∠116,565° correctly .... It was about, but I did not come to this... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
The Extrude Taper angle is 26,565deg ( asin(1/sqrt(5)) ) the extrude angle is 90 deg, this giving the total angle of 116,565deg between faces.
