This really make's you think about how much pain qiqi is in watching as the people she has come to love and care about grow old and die but she doesn't the pain and confusion must be all most unbearable to were she might close her heart to everything one day to escape the pain and sadness of everything she has lost it really is sad😢

"Fun" fact: Hu Tao (before knowing Qiqi) had traumatized Qiqi so much (trying to "kill" her) to the point of her actually remembering hiding spots to avoid Hu Tao.
On the other hand, Hu Tao didn’t see it that way. She saw Qiqi as a friend who was cursed with immortality. She shouldn’t have been alive, so she took it upon herself to “lay her to rest” thinking that it was what was best for Qiqi. After multiple attempts, she realised that it wasn’t what Qiqi wanted and tried to apologise, but at that point it was too late and she had a long lasting hatred for her.

"Thanks, I hate it." On a serious note, I freaking hate seeing children in pain, because It's almost unbearable to witness. And from the start I didn't understand this "Qiqi is cute" thing going on in the community. To me she was always a very tragic character the moment I got to know a bit of her backstory. But this is a masterpiece. Qiqi's VA - she should be working as a pro in the industry.
zhongli's voice line where he says his favorite wine still tastes the same as he once liked it "but where are those who remember the taste?" is a good summary of how melancholy zhongli's mentality is and the somber felling of walking around liyue and seeing all the ancient monuments and ruins to explore really gives me an indiscernible sadness and nostalgic feeling
Interestingly, his favorite wine is osmanthus and is considered the "reunion wine" or "birthday wine" as its given as a gift. That makes it all the more sadder.
I read somewhere that, because Qiqi is a zombie, once you give her a certain task to do, she won't stop until she manages to do said task. The only way to cancel the command and make her stop is to hug her from behind and say, "I love you the most". I strongly believe that her parents always hugged her and told her they love her the most, that is why she only responds to that sentence to stop and cancel a task 💔

It really could be either tbh. Qiqi might have a backstory that we don't know of yet that could be more painful than we could imagine, just like Xiao before he was released. That's how her forgetfulness could, just possibly be a blessing. It may be a curse because we don't know if Qiqi wants to know MORE of what's happened in her past, painful or happy, it all depends on how that character themselves is feeling, and all based on their own perspective. @@deyash4602 it's actually canon, it's in her story. When she was revived she went berserk because her lifeless body was filled with bits of both demon and adepti strength which she was not able to control that's why mountain shaper had to seal her in amber.

The adeptis felt bad so they put adepti energy in her to try and let her live again but she couldnt handle it and went berserk, thus, one of the adepti offered to seal her in amber. People then found her and tried to set her free, while resting, Qiqi woke on her own and freed herself from the amber, following her previous life she went to the same mountain to pick herbs and met Baizhu who offered to take her in.

@@cain_chamomille Zhongli isn't only the leader, he is also the one that decided who gets to become an Adeptus meaning that whatever an Adeptus do falls under his responsability (Adeptus are mortals who trained and achieved whatever requirements are needed before getting the approval of Zhongli and then become an Adeptus). From what i understand, Qiqi was also a citizen under the protection of Zhongli : remember the first Contract he ever created, the contract to protect Liyue and its citizen. Not only an Adeptus caused the death of an innocent bystander, but said bystander happens to be among the people he was to watch over and protect. He is completely responsible for that blunder as the Adepti that were present during the accident selfishly gave a portion of their power to the child in order to try to save her without even thinking that the harsh training they had to do before becoming an Adeptus was needed to wield such powers. So yeah, Zhongli has a huge responsability on that case, we know that he is a blockhead when it comes to "common sense" but damn i woulnd't want to be in his shoes.
I remember when I first watched this without knowing anything about Genshin. Heck, I didn't know Genshin existed then and when I watched this I was like: "....Am I supposed to feel sad or something? I don't get it. Whatever." After learning about Genshin: "NOOOOO!!!! QIQI!!! Don't feel sad, you have papa Zhongli with you 😭😭😭"

Talking bout new year and broken heart... I hate that archon be damned Resurgent Cryosvine....everytime I step foot into the battlefield, I get K.O'd. Can't do anything....worse since I accidentally bumped up to World Level 5...everything is too strong... It is doubly embarassing when doing co-op...because I feel like a moocher. I kept dying until the battle ends. So I tried solo because I did it solo once...only to get K.O'd once more... WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME???!!! *mental break down*

We need more comics like this. Not the "Its good because its sad" But the Emotional ties of it all. Where it goes into something minor but has another character interact and all. Sorta like with the Protag talking to another who has a sibling or the like. Like It'll be cool to see something about Albedo and Klee or just Klee, Diona, and QiQi hanging out together. Heck, I wanna see Diona's reaction about Diluc and all XD

Sooo..my girlfriend LOVES this game. She loves streaming it for me on Discord and showing me all her characters. I've slowly been getting more and more interested in the game, and I've got to say, based on their pasts (both canon and theorized), Qiqi, Zhongli, and Venti are perhaps my favorite characters. This video especially got to me because of the concept of what Qiqi has to go through, as well as Zhongli coming to terms that they are the same and yet the opposite nonetheless -both cursed with immortality, yet one to never forget, and one to never remember. The context of it, the reason the topic comes in question, is heart-wrenching, and just about brought me to tears.
Good on you, brother - you did it for your girl, truly admirable. I've got a similar story, and I'm all into it in every way. It's great to play with her all the time, and I think she really likes that I re-arranged my interests to include her more. Keep at it, brother!

Atleast Qiqi forgot the painful memories she had experienced.Zhongli had to live with those memories for thousands of years while suffering from Erosion and his Karma.
No, Qiqi has it worse At least Zhongli remembers everything and thus can understand his pain as it truly is. Qiqi *can't* . She's stuck there feeling empty yet still feeling pain that she can't even recall the cause of. Zhongli could one day learn to get over his past, but Qiqi will never be able to because she can't recall why she hurts and she can't remember things further to be able to progress and move on. Zhongli has it bad with erosion and karma, but that's the thing, that's merely an escape for his sane self. His worst case scenario is ending it all for his conscious self by going crazy, while for Qiqi. she's just left in a cruel, hurting stasis.
That's the power of voice acting. Being able to imitate voices is a bonus, but what really matters is if you can put emotion into sound. And the voice actress did a good job if it made you tear up.
I guess this shows being immortal isn’t everything especially when you start to forget things very important or miss those that were because they are long gone...

As someone who forgets a lot, I relate to Qiqi. Especially if it’s something important and I forget, I end up crying out of frustration. One time, I nearly forgot my dog’s face (because he died last march). I was so sad, but thankfully I have pictures of him so I was able to regain my memory back.

When I was extremely young, like when I was born to when I was 6, I was in a terrible situation. I got out of it but I can't remember it and what I do remember isn't real. My brain apparently made fake memories to help me cope. Just thought I'd share. Probably not a similar experience to this though.

And from the start I didn't understand this "Qiqi is cute" thing going on in the community. To me she was always a very tragic character the moment I got to know a bit of her backstory.

zhongli's voice line where he says his favorite wine still tastes the same as he once liked it "but where are those who remember the taste?" is a good summary of how melancholy zhongli's mentality is and the somber felling of walking around liyue and seeing all the ancient monuments and ruins to explore really gives me an indiscernible sadness and nostalgic feeling
Interestingly, his favorite wine is osmanthus and is considered the "reunion wine" or "birthday wine" as its given as a gift. That makes it all the more sadder.

I read somewhere that, because Qiqi is a zombie, once you give her a certain task to do, she won't stop until she manages to do said task. The only way to cancel the command and make her stop is to hug her from behind and say, "I love you the most". I strongly believe that her parents always hugged her and told her they love her the most, that is why she only responds to that sentence to stop and cancel a task 💔
This is my headcanon now.
At this point, I'm not even sure if Qiqi's forgetfulness is a curse or a blessing. :'\
could be both if you look at it from a certain perspective.............. its a blessing as she could likely have memories she would be better off not remembering but a curse for the exact opposite reason
It really could be either tbh. Qiqi might have a backstory that we don't know of yet that could be more painful than we could imagine, just like Xiao before he was released. That's how her forgetfulness could, just possibly be a blessing. It may be a curse because we don't know if Qiqi wants to know MORE of what's happened in her past, painful or happy, it all depends on how that character themselves is feeling, and all based on their own perspective. I hope this was easy to understand haha :'))

@@deyash4602 it's actually canon, it's in her story. When she was revived she went berserk because her lifeless body was filled with bits of both demon and adepti strength which she was not able to control that's why mountain shaper had to seal her in amber.
And the fact that Zhongli knows hes partially to blame, he's probably so guilty and hurt seeing her like that

Everyone felt bad, tried to give some of their powers to revive her, her mortal body couldn't take it, she went berserk, and they had to seal her in amber for like centuries to keep the peace.
@@nightraid7644 all i know is that the adeptis had a quarrel and Qiqi, a innocent passerby picking herbs, got involved, leading to her death. The adeptis felt bad so they put adepti energy in her to try and let her live again but she couldnt handle it and went berserk, thus, one of the adepti offered to seal her in amber. People then found her and tried to set her free, while resting, Qiqi woke on her own and freed herself from the amber, following her previous life she went to the same mountain to pick herbs and met Baizhu who offered to take her in.

@@cain_chamomille Zhongli isn't only the leader, he is also the one that decided who gets to become an Adeptus meaning that whatever an Adeptus do falls under his responsability (Adeptus are mortals who trained and achieved whatever requirements are needed before getting the approval of Zhongli and then become an Adeptus). From what i understand, Qiqi was also a citizen under the protection of Zhongli : remember the first Contract he ever created, the contract to protect Liyue and its citizen. Not only an Adeptus caused the death of an innocent bystander, but said bystander happens to be among the people he was to watch over and protect. He is completely responsible for that blunder as the Adepti that were present during the accident selfishly gave a portion of their power to the child in order to try to save her without even thinking that the harsh training they had to do before becoming an Adeptus was needed to wield such powers. So yeah, Zhongli has a huge responsability on that case, we know that he is a blockhead when it comes to "common sense" but damn i woulnd't want to be in his shoes.
I remember when I first watched this without knowing anything about Genshin. Heck, I didn't know Genshin existed then and when I watched this I was like:
"....Am I supposed to feel sad or something? I don't get it. Whatever."
After learning about Genshin:
"NOOOOO!!!! QIQI!!! Don't feel sad, you have papa Zhongli with you 😭😭😭"
My heart hurts....now I must roll a Qiqi for my Zhongli so the pair can never be separated....

qiqi's voice actor is so good I can hear the pain in her voice i literally cried
Sooo..my girlfriend LOVES this game. She loves streaming it for me on Discord and showing me all her characters. I've slowly been getting more and more interested in the game, and I've got to say, based on their pasts (both canon and theorized), Qiqi, Zhongli, and Venti are perhaps my favorite characters. This video especially got to me because of the concept of what Qiqi has to go through, as well as Zhongli coming to terms that they are the same and yet the opposite nonetheless -both cursed with immortality, yet one to never forget, and one to never remember. The context of it, the reason the topic comes in question, is heart-wrenching, and just about brought me to tears.
Good on you, brother - you did it for your girl, truly admirable. I've got a similar story, and I'm all into it in every way. It's great to play with her all the time, and I think she really likes that I re-arranged my interests to include her more. Keep at it, brother!

At least Zhongli remembers everything and thus can understand his pain as it truly is. Qiqi *can't* . She's stuck there feeling empty yet still feeling pain that she can't even recall the cause of. Zhongli could one day learn to get over his past, but Qiqi will never be able to because she can't recall why she hurts and she can't remember things further to be able to progress and move on. Zhongli has it bad with erosion and karma, but that's the thing, that's merely an escape for his sane self. His worst case scenario is ending it all for his conscious self by going crazy, while for Qiqi. she's just left in a cruel, hurting stasis.

We all did, she deserved better
That's the power of voice acting. Being able to imitate voices is a bonus, but what really matters is if you can put emotion into sound. And the voice actress did a good job if it made you tear up.
I guess this shows being immortal isn’t everything especially when you start to forget things very important or miss those that were because they are long gone...

As someone who forgets a lot, I relate to Qiqi. Especially if it’s something important and I forget, I end up crying out of frustration. One time, I nearly forgot my dog’s face (because he died last march). I was so sad, but thankfully I have pictures of him so I was able to regain my memory back.
oh man i never even put together the parallels of these characters-maybe just bc i dont have qiqi but regardless-“the one who remembers and the one who forgets.” both are a burden. ugh its so GOOD, the indirect storytelling mihoyo has between these characters. i i love me a good dose of angst but it still hurts lmao. very well done though, great work to everyone!

I have severe short term memory loss and this is actually kind of what it feels like
When I was extremely young, like when I was born to when I was 6, I was in a terrible situation. I got out of it but I can't remember it and what I do remember isn't real. My brain apparently made fake memories to help me cope. Just thought I'd share. Probably not a similar experience to this though.

Hi learning mandarin or japanese, just learn to write them, dont need to learn to speak it, save it for later. it can help. u can learn to read it after u learn writing it.

The sad thing is she cant even taste the coconut milk anymore. She just remembers she used to love it from when she was alive.
I remember playing Zhongli's first story quest and laughing as he schooled assorted scholars about Rex Lapis, but then it ended on such a gut-punch that I had to pause the game and walk away for a bit.
