I have to say, there aren't many people who can explain this kind of stuff as good as you. Well done! I too had a problem with not having the network option appear on Tools. But as I found somewhere in the comments below, that happens when you copy paste the code, instead of writing it yourself. Just added that in this comment for people who have the same issue, but might not find the same comment I had found... ;)
+Disc Golf Adventure thanks for watching the video. Glad you found it useful. Most issues with code tend to be copying and pasting and minor syntax errors. I always recommend writing out the code since it'll help you better understand what's happening with the code logic.
If I could rate you, it would be 5/5 bro! clear and easy instructions with a complete guide he took me to every nook and corner, no one would teach you that easy, if a question raise in your head that WHY this? the very next sentence is the answer to your WHY!!! Super :) Subscribed, I spent my entire day finding the right channel to learn wordpress, and got this ! Thank you! Definitely I'll be waiting for more videos on Wordpress sir!
You are awesome man | I was held out in this case from the last two days | I ignored your video first because of its length but finally saw it and executed it and the result was positive | Thank You | You are Awesome | I liked and Subscribed your video and channel | Please upload such videos on wordpress which could be helpful.
Yeah, some of the videos I create are extremely long. This one is actually short in comparison to some of my others. And I'm working on a new Theme Development Tutorial that's going to be crazy long. Seriously detailed. Such long videos can be intimidating but it's hard to ensure the information presented will be beneficial if it's not detailed. Nowadays I timestamp my long videos which make it easy for people to jump to wherever they left off. Thanks for watching and subscribing. I appreciate it.
Thank you for the video. What I need is learning exactly how to setup a syncronized multisite wordpress with different main domains. Could you give some tips about this? Thank you!
Thank you for the tutorial PixemWeb, very detail. For those who have problem not able to see site2 when hover my sites or error when visit the site . simply change site2 admin same with the super admin.
This is fantastic. Thanks for the detailed video and being to the point. I also have a question. I would like to want my users to have the same access to both the site, meaning have the same credentials on both sites. Which option do i need to select from the user registration option or do i need another plugin to do that?
Absolutely awesome video. I have followed completely until i got to adding a site. I think i have added the site but I am just getting an error message when I press "visit site" - so something isnt working properly?!
I like this video i want to know what is the best Sub-domain or Multi-site for ranking my site on google and for business like CPA & Affiliate marketing,
I have a WP website where people can register for. Is the registering option in the network settings of any influence to this setting? The multisite domains I want to add will be for sale and I basically want no other registrations other then on the main domain. Thanks!
Hey there! Can you suggest me my multisite have got 2 sites however second site did not appear in the dropdown menu 13:54, how to add second site in drop down menu?
Fantastic tutorial. I am just coming across one problem where when I create the new site and try to visit the dashboard it is stating that the "This site can’t be reached ... server IP address could not be found." Any suggestions?
Thank you very much for this video Sir, it's work, i followed this video step by step, and great, i have a WP multisite now :D, two thumbs up, one more time, thank you very much.
+Игорь Пиксайкин interesting, what type of web hosting/server do you have? If anything, start over by first following the steps in this video on uninstalling Multisite ruclips.net/video/mBgibIFF3e0/видео.html and then make sure to go step by step to install multisite.
Hello Sr., I have a question please. If I want to add a new page to my main site, for example "F&A", does the entire network sites could be synchronized with the same new page? Thank you very much.
Very good explanation, thx but in my case I use a theme not from WP, how can I copy the same theme, Plugins etc, ? I need a Multisite for languages and Intranet, is it possible to do it?
It’s just a precaution. All plugins are different and some run at different points. So disabling them will ensure a smoother transition. Sometimes it doesn’t matter and other times it does.
I've been doing web design for several years now and I'm coming from the code side of things and just now making friends with and learning WP. I do intend to start doing a lot more with WP and hopefully will have several clients I will be providing monthly services for. The idea of the WP Multisite sounds great but I've got one concern. My question is, ow difficult is it to move a site from a multisite setup if for some reason a client wanted to go to another host, another designer or whatever?
Thanks for watching the video. I will do a video demonstrating the process of exporting a site out of multisite. Give me a couple of days to put together the video. Check out my new video on how to use the Domain Mapping Plugin which you will find helpful. It's a way to create your own version of a hosting company while your client's site will have a custom domain name and still be part of your multisite setup.
youre not showing us what to replace in the htaccess file, whne you click to that page. it just shows that your replaced something. you said that youre "just gonna go right here" but what does that mean?
created the multisite configured subdomain all up and running, now I like have a the subsite as same of the main site but i will translate and configure few different plugin so that can be focused on brazilian clients, the main site will be focused on usa clients so it will be same business, same products but each one having a different configurations to adapt to each country. can you help ? do you have a tutorial demonstrating that ?
thank you so much! this video tutorial is legit! thank you sir :) I can use this now. I'm tired of seeing those error again. God bless more power to you sir. This help me so much :)
Thank you PixemWeb looking forward testing it on the Synology NAS server, just wondering how many sites I could hold in 3 terabytes without slowing the server.
Good question, while the size of the server being 3 terabytes, you could definitely hold a lot of websites on it with little storage issues for a very long time unless you're also storing large 4k videos on the server which I wouldn't recommend. As for the speed, it depends on a few factors. What type of drives does your server use? SSD Drives are faster. How much RAM is available? RAM plays an important role in server performance. What type of CPU is being used? A true server CPU is recommended to ensure uptime. You also want to make sure it's a powerful CPU that can handle processing for the web server. How fast is your network? Throughput is important, both download and upload performance. Then you also have to consider how many concurrent connections you have. This is not really controllable, and more is better, but concurrent connections also strain the server, hence why fast, modern software is beneficial. Also, the theme you're using and the plugins installed will impact performance. There's a lot that goes into it but these are some things to consider.
PixemWeb thank you , this clears a lot of things. I will upgrade the ram in the future but for now I will run 2 sites for testing. All videos are hosted somewhere else. I use as little plugins as possible. Just one more question. I use professional templates that have an activation code or license. Just wondering if this could cause a conflict, Working with Wordpress multisite. Can wait to test this out.
Awesome, You won't run into any capacity issues with that much server space. Have fun learning and let me know if there's anything in particular you're curious about when it comes to WordPress.
sir you are awesome but i have a question i have two different word press websites on localhost and i want to upload them to multi site network without fresh install how i can do this please answer
Hello, sorry if my question sounds dumb i'm new to this. I was wondering if my clients have access to their websites so they can also manage their websites are they gonna be able to see and manage all my websites having them under the same username and password?
Hey. No, you wouldn’t give them the same user credentials as you. You would be the super admin and they would only be able to be an admin of their site. You can control the whole network, they can only manage theirs. I should probably do another video specifically on how to administer a network for performance and security.
I went to put the code in my htaccess file and it did not read the same as yours. It read: # Use PHP7 Single php.ini as default AddHandler application/x-httpd-php70s .php Do I add the "If module" like in your example and add the code from wordpress?
Thanks! Is it still define( 'WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE' , true ); if I have chosen another prefix than WP in the installation phase in the wp-config file (for security reasons)? Or should I replace WP with my custom prefix letters?
Yes, it's still WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE. Don't change the prefix for this constant. This is how WordPress will know it's a Multisite installation when the Core scans your wp-config file.
Thanks for watching. Here's a video where I explain *Domain Mapping* and how to do it. ruclips.net/video/MrALnlTd7Ps/видео.html Let me know if there's any other video you think I should make. Also, subscribe if you find the videos I make helpful. Thanks.
hi, i just followed all of this but very confused as when i click add new site, it's giving me only the option of my old domain name, it's a seperate business which I have a seperate domain for, so why can I not just use my new domain name? I don't want the old domain linked to the new site. thanks
please help me as i m doing the process i get this in network setup for subdomain and subdirectory i see this message "Because your installation is not new, the sites in your WordPress network must use sub-domains. The main site in a sub-directory installation will need to use a modified permalink structure, potentially breaking existing links."
Hello there, I do not see the in my htaccess file. it is something like this.. # BEGIN WordPress # The directives (lines) between `BEGIN WordPress` and `END WordPress` are # dynamically generated, and should only be modified via WordPress filters. # Any changes to the directives between these markers will be overwritten. # END WordPress so what to do now? thanks
Hi. Yes. You would need to either use a migration plugin like Duplicator. I have a video on how to use it. You would also need to change the references to the urls to make sure they reflect the directory change. If you’re looking to import the site into a Multisite then there are a few extra steps. Maybe I can do a video on that. Before doing anything, always backup your primary site. Also, what type of hosting are you using?
Glad you found it helpful. Checkout some of the other videos in the playlist that focus on Multisite and let me know if there's any other videos on this topic I should create.
fn ads! I'm still not clear on this structure... Is it to consolidate more than one website you own into one platform or is it a directory of sub-sites added under a main website?
It can be for multiple websites you own or you can create your own managed hosting service like WPEngine does or others. You charge people to host and manage their site. It’s also great for freelancers who manage their clients sites.
@@PixemWeb Understood, Thanks. So I have 6 WP sites all with different logins. Domains are registered with different providers, hosting is with one provider. If I activate multisite, it would eliminate me having to log out and log into each admin site when I need to make small changes, updates etc...
thanks so much for this video! I am however stuck on a particular part because I can't understand the word your saying in the video.. (im not a coder or anything savey so i'm literally using this video for step by step ) - when I get to the part of the video where you talking about the code we enter.. the action that you say to take before writing the word "true" ... i can't understand that word your saying. define( 'WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true ); is what I put but the new tool thats supposed to pop up in wordpress isn't poppin up.. In the video you say a word that sounds like ... "boonyeun value?" ... what is that and how do I do that action on my keyboard. Thanks!
ahh!! gotcha, thank you SO MUCH for the quick reply, i've been pulling my hair out over here! Yes sir I saved the filed and reload the browser. Are there certain buttons I press to "create the boolean value" before the word true?
No, just make sure your code looks like what's displayed on my website www.pixemweb.com/blog/how-to-setup-wordpress-multisite/ You can copy the code from my website if needed.
Not sure what I could be doing wrong but the tools "network setup" is just not popping up for me inside wordpress. I even started all over.. and just copied and pasted the code in the article you just sent. Could there be anything else I should check? I really do appreciate you replying back to me
Hi thanks for your video. I have some problem after setup it. when I over on My Sites menu I didn't see new sites that I created but in the list sites I saw it have already. one more thing when i click to view on homepapge or Dashboard new site it massage This site can’t be reached. so what is the problem?
Troubleshooting a Multisite Installation can be tricky. First, refresh your browser and delete your browser cache. Logout and log back into your site and see if everything is in order. If not, then make sure you have all the correct tables for a Multisite Setup. wp_site wp_sitemeta wp_blogs wp_blog_versions wp_signups wp_registration_log If you don't see those tables, then watch the video I created on how to uninstall WordPress Multisite and then start over with installing Multisite. Make sure to prep your site for the installation by disabling all plugins. As always make sure to take a full backup of your website. Note: Others have had issues with copying code because of formatting issues with their text editors. It's recommended to type out the code exactly as demonstrated. Hopefully this helps.
I have done all thing as you said. But, When i try to reach admin panel it's shows - File not found (404 error) and Future home of something quite cool - showing for vising site. Please help me
Glad it worked. I have it on my schedule to create a more advanced video to cover all the settings available for the network admin. Let me know if there's anything in particular I should include.
I have followed the steps, and discovered I have a different issue. I can "add a new site" but when I click onto the dashboard of the sub-sites it brings me to a default page "Cannot be found". I thought it was a hosting issue but my hosting company says it is not a hosting issue. Do you have some ideas what I did wrong? Please advise. Thanks!
And this is something you have to install and do for every single subdomain you create, correct? Is there a copy and paste or duplication option/plug in available to streamline or even automate this process?
It’s been on my to do list to create a video showing how to use Letsencrypt with WordPress and Multisite. I’ll try to expedite the video. What hosting do you use?
Thank you for this great video. I have got a problem ...after doing all steps and log in at the end, my dashboard and admin bar disappears and don't know how to go back to my dashboard. By uninstalling, it comes back as before. 'Show Toolbar when viewing site 'is ticked all the time
Hmmm, I've never had the admin bar disappear before. What type of server are you using? Have you ensured you completely removed all the code from the wp-config file, htaccess file and removed the tables from your database? Also, always try and delete browser cache.
I've just started to work with WordPress. I've downloaded the latest version of WordPress 4.9.2 , XAMP pack from Bitnami. the server is Apache. I did exactly you explained in this video. Thank you for your time
Ahh, Ok. Getting Multisite to work properly on a local installation is a more involved process. The tutorial is for a live website and wouldn't work on a local installation. I do plan on creating a video on setting it up locally but there might be a different process based on the various local web servers and the Operating System used. Let me look more into it.
Joseph Norori good question, are they parked? It shouldn't impact it but always err on the side of caution and take a backup of everything. If something goes wrong you can restore from a backup. I also created a video on how to properly remove Multisite. So check that video out too. Let me know how it goes.
Yes they are parked domains, i have 4 parked domains. I did a full site backup with inmotion wizard backup just in case. The support team told me several minutes ago, that it shouldn't affect the add-on domains or parked domains. Lets see
Just wanted to reply! For anyone having doubts, it works! I have no issues with my parked domain, installed as a sub-domain in my root folder. Thanks for the help. thumbs up for you! Btw. The only concern was that, if you activate multi-site with an existing website, you can't choose sub-directory option, you will only be able yo use, sub-domain sites. Just in case.
Ok, make sure you're in the Super Admin section. Refresh your browser and remove the cache. Log out of your website and log back in. If that still doesn't work, then log into your control panel from your web host, then head over to your file manager and make sure your htaccess file is correct and your wp-config file is correct. If it is and things still aren't working then uninstall multisite using the video tutorial I made and start over. ruclips.net/video/mBgibIFF3e0/видео.html
Hi there. Thank you very much for this video. I am still experiencing a problem. After I edited the wp-config.php and the .htaccess files, I can not login to my Dashboard again. I use the correct username and password but it takes me to the default WordPress page as a blog and not into my Dashboard. How do I fix this? Thank you
Hi Lara, have you tried clearing your browser cache or trying a different browser? Sometimes cache can cause an issue. If that's not the case, then follow the steps in my other video on how to uninstall Multisite and then start over. Sometimes there might be an issue with the htaccess file that you might not have caught. Let me know.
Hi. Thank you for your reply. I however still seem to have the same problem. I have cleared my browser cache. I have also tried opening it on another browser. Can I contact you via email? I have another WordPress account that may be causing the problem and need assistance with some issues. Thank you
I keep getting the message under Network Setup 'Warning: Please deactivate your plugins before enabling the Network feature.' I deactivated and deleted all my plugins. Is there something I am doing wrong?
After I followed the steps, I successfully set up the WordPress Multise but I have lost the Plugin "Add New" button. How do I get it back? Please advise. Thank you.
Are you in the main site for the multisite setup? Go to the top toolbar and on the left hand side you will see a link saying My Sites. From there go to Network Admin link and then navigate to the plugins section. Then network activate the plugins you want available on all sites.
This Is the simplest and well detailed procedure of creating multisite wordpress. This is awesome

Hello! I have created a wordpress site with xampp. Is it possible to transfer this site from my computer to a wordpress site as subdirectory?
Hi.
@@PixemWeb thank you for replying! I fixed it!
6:00 of the video please tell me the difference between sub-domain and sub-directories.
Hello my dear, how if I need to use with multi-domain, how we can do that? Great video
Thanks really helpful..
Glad you found it helpful. Checkout some of the other videos in the playlist that focus on Multisite and let me know if there's any other videos on this topic I should create.
Very nice. Thanks.
No problem. Glad you found it helpful.
thanks sir.. it is awesome..
Thanks for watching. Glad the video helped.
Thank you so much
Thanks!
Hi, sorry, the word is Boolean Value meaning True. I'm just explaining what True is in code speak. Did you save the file and reload the browser?
ahh!! gotcha, thank you SO MUCH for the quick reply, i've been pulling my hair out over here!
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! Your awesome.
Not sure what I could be doing wrong but the tools "network setup" is just not popping up for me inside wordpress. I even started all over.. and just copied and pasted the code in the article you just sent. Could there be anything else I should check? I really do appreciate you replying back to me
How can I set up a 2nd WP site on my hosting account? :)
If not, then make sure you have all the correct tables for a Multisite Setup.
wp_site
wp_sitemeta
wp_blogs
wp_blog_versions
wp_signups
wp_registration_log
If you don't see those tables, then watch the video I created on how to uninstall WordPress Multisite and then start over with installing Multisite.
Please help me
Why i can't access my subdomain wp-admin in my wp multisite, can someone help me what's the problem?
DNS not found problem...Have you solved this issue. if yes, how?
I have managed to fix the troubleshooting and now I can see the "Add New" button in the Plugin menu. Thank you.
Glad it worked. I have it on my schedule to create a more advanced video to cover all the settings available for the network admin. Let me know if there's anything in particular I should include.
I added the code on the wp-config.php and refreshed my website but there was no network setup option on my tools tab :’(
I have followed the steps, and discovered I have a different issue. I can "add a new site" but when I click onto the dashboard of the sub-sites it brings me to a default page "Cannot be found". I thought it was a hosting issue but my hosting company says it is not a hosting issue. Do you have some ideas what I did wrong? Please advise. Thanks!
I got the same issue. Did you manage to fix this?
Because you didn't install wordpress on the subdomains, you must install it first
And this is something you have to install and do for every single subdomain you create, correct? Is there a copy and paste or duplication option/plug in available to streamline or even automate this process?
i got same issue ! do we need to install wp on each sub sites?
Anyone know of an easy way to add SSL certs to all domains at one multisite install? Whether a wildcard , SAN, or separate?
It’s been on my to do list to create a video showing how to use Letsencrypt with WordPress and Multisite. I’ll try to expedite the video. What hosting do you use?
AWS
Thank you very much. Yes, I didn't publish it yet. my client wants two websites and I have to work on two websites same time.
Are you going to put them both on the Multisite and then Domain Map them?
Hi, question, if i have existing addon domains in my root folder, will enabling multisite on my main domain damage those existing addon websites?
Joseph Norori good question, are they parked? It shouldn't impact it but always err on the side of caution and take a backup of everything. If something goes wrong you can restore from a backup. I also created a video on how to properly remove Multisite. So check that video out too. Let me know how it goes.
Yes they are parked domains, i have 4 parked domains. I did a full site backup with inmotion wizard backup just in case. The support team told me several minutes ago, that it shouldn't affect the add-on domains or parked domains. Lets see
That's what I figured. Keep me posted on your results. Also check out the video on Domain Mapping for Multisite that i made about a week ago.
Problem; When I updated my site dashboard said, "Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page." what am I doing wrong here?
Hi, I cannot get on the network setup page 5:12, in the video. I have done all of the steps, but this is still not working.

Easy to follow instructions but I keep getting missing or invalid site address after trying to add a new site.
Sorry where can I find settings???
is this also work for multilanguage web?
Yes, you could setup sub sites dedicated to specific languages.
I am create new subdomain but I found issue in files css,js .
After doing all what you said. I get this error ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS
Keeps saying server IP address cannot be found when adding new site. Suggestions?
I get the same... did you manage to find a solution?
thank you
Your welcome.
It is working! Thank you!!
How to add, edit, remove navigation menu items in Wordpress Multisite?
