  • Trying something different with this video which is about old tools (what else??). There are some interesting ones that I've had both recently and in the past few months.

Folks have asked where I sell tools.
I sell a lot on Facebook and all of my tools get listed to this group and others as well. Look for Tony Seo in the group.

Thanks, Tony, for the education and also the link back to the chair maker’s tools. I got a nice scorp from a dealer in New Hampshire. Byeeeeee…😁😉

Thanks for watching. Good scorps are few and far between and rarely last here at the shop for more than a couple of days.

LOVED that intro! That’s the kind of music that gets me motivated to buy! Haha Great video, very informative. Always love the history. Thanks, Tony!

The new intro music sounds nice. Bits for the Yankee drill are still available from some suppliers. I have my dad's drill & I got new bits from, I think, Garret-Wade in Ohio. I've seen experienced craftsmen use those Japanese planes with precision. I have a small, block plane size one I have to sharpen & set up. I don't know how to identify them, but some of the Japanese plane blades are worth several hundred dollars.

Thanks. I have some bits kicking around here from damaged drills, I just haven;t gotten around to looking for them. I know that some of those Japanese planes are worth some serious money, but trying to figure all that out, well it's just too much for this old brain. I did sell it before the video came out.

Wheelwrights and coopers were two of the most common rural trades found in the 19th Century English trade directories and I'm sure it was that way all over Europe. Thanks.
