I just this kit in my toy box, not build. I’m trying to make it but I lost my instructor. Happy and excited to make this car after 7+ year abandon, I’m just so happy you make this vids, so I don’t feel lost makeing it❤❤ Edit” I just realized I lost the sticker😢
Great to have this kit back as it was rather impossible to find for anything resembling a reasonable price. Now Tamiya needs to reissue the Mitsubishi Pajero & Pajero Sport Options kits to round out the 1990 full detail SUV kits they did.
+James Duff Couldn't agree more, I'd love to do a Pajero but I'm paying the asking price if one ever comes up. My dad had one and he loved it, would make a great Christmas present!
I may reconsider getting this kit. There's one at my local hobby shop but I'm not really a truck guy, so I passed. I like the separate frame detail. Too bad you may not be able to save that red, it's gorgeous!
+WikdSeafood Aston Martin Toro Red is very similar! My partner is painting it this colour, its the same as the Hakosuka I'm building at the minute! I'd say go for it, its something different and out of your comfort zone :D
+flyingchicken33 Thanks man, my friend sent me a screen shot asking if it was the tire gate and I agree'd it was. Frustratingly I figure out what some parts are after I've filmed it lol!
I'd like to see a tutorial on how to paint the molded emblems on bodies. I've done it using number 0 paint brushes, extra fine tipped markers, toothpicks cut extra thin with an xacto and even using an xacto with a bit of paint on the blade's tip but none of these things make the emblem look half decent after painted. perhaps it's my shaky hands?
+ThisNamesNowTaken There's a few different options really. I think the problem you are having is that your using silver paint and emblems on the real cars are generally chrome. It's nothing against you at all I just think that may be why your not satisfied with the finish? I've seen people use bare metal foil over emblems, then painting as normal, then removing the paint to reveal the foil behind. Personally I tend to remove emblems because I debadge most of my 1:1 cars anyway or use detail up sets from A+ Club of the various makers. Hope this helps my friend

I am not a big fan of landcruisers, but this is a good looking kit indeed. Pity that the body is not perfect though because by the look of it, you could almost build it as is, what is not possible anymore after sanding this moldline and other dents and bits.
+FraGNet0 Yeah I see what you mean. My partner is planning on painting this in Aston Martin Toro Red, the same colour I painted the LB Works Hakosuka on Instagram, its a fairly good match and it does suit the car over the box art blue
ELP Modelling Yes paint is a personal taste, but indeed a lot of cars you see repainted in a completely different color than you expect can look way better then originals anyway.
Why would Tamiya use such a great color if its going to be painted? Or did they think we would just build it the way it is with scratches and mold lines?

+zainplaysdirt3 Great stuff! You'll have to get it featured!
That weird bar looking piece on the first black set is the rear tire gate.

That red, that it is molded in is stunning. I wonder how it will polish out?
+AMERICAN LEGEND The problem is the mold lines that will need removing and those marks on the front doors :(

Absolutely yeah! You know, looking at the box again, the colours reminds me of that blue pearl colour Tamiya does, very nice (Y)
can we drive it around likea toy

I'd guess they just wanted to make it newbie-friendly but also well made enough for expert builders too.
great kit!
