  • The Reason Why you are NOT getting pregnant - Thyroid and fertility
You might not know about this. It’s one of the most commonly missed (or dismissed) pieces to the puzzle of infertility…
😣 We all know hormonal imbalances = problems with your fertility.
Your thyroid has an important role to play in your hormonal health.
If you have unchecked thyroid issues, then this is going to impact your hormones and your ability to get and stay pregnant.
HOWEVER, your thyroid often won’t be taken into consideration unless your lab results come back very abnormal.
But you shouldn’t wait that long before you start addressing your thyroid health. It doesn’t make sense to wait until there’s already a bigger problem right?
On this week’s episode of Fertility TV, I’m going to walk you through the importance of understanding your thyroid function, essential lab work to have done, and my key pieces of advice for ensuring you’re supporting your thyroid throughout your fertility journey.

I have been trying with my husband for 5 years. Did femara, gonadatropins, IUI etc. No one ever said anythint about my thyroid at my fertility clinic. Finally, I gave up. Then, found myself at a Naturopath office to get my hormones back in order, and they found my hypothyroidism.

My doctor just prescribed levothyroxine to lower my TSH to 2.5 or lower. I don’t think I have any of those diseases mentioned. I hope this is the key anyway. I’m almost 34. No luck after years of trying so we’re finally working with a fertility clinic.

Do you have a video on Adenomyosis? I have been TTC for 2 years I’m 29 with low AMH and possible Adenomyosis. In October I started seeking fertility treatment, I’ve had bloodwork, HSG, and ultrasounds and my dr said I have low ovarian reserve my AMH is .81
I am on cycle 2 of clomid and every time I go in for a scan or ultrasound I see Adenomyosis written on the papers that are sent to the drs. Was wondering if this affects fertility and what I can do to get pregnant with these issues. Are there certain vitamins I could be taking for this? Thank you so much for your videos. ❤

But you have to ask for a full thyroid panel. Cause my tsh always comes back normal but my idione and other thyroid levels were low and I wouldn’t have picked it up without a full panel.

Hi Marc. I will be 40 this Feb. I am married 7 years, we are trying from last year on and off. I m vegetarian, pre diabetic, iron deficient, high cholesterol. I don’t have thyroid issues. Last year in March I went to a fertility clinic, they did some blood test but they could not scan my reproductive organs because I had so much difficulty when they tried to insert tools , it was very o painful, after that I was so scared, I have not done tests yet. They recommended pelvic floor exercise. I m not sure why I m not pregnant and never been pregnant, I am so sad and scared and I have no idea what to do at this stage, please help and guide .

Your comment has sat with me - and I feel like I need to share my experience as if you want to have a baby, it might help you get there quicker!!! Fertility is a physical thing BUT there is also an emotional, mental and spiritual side as well. I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility, for years I struggled, and then after I worked on fear and the emotional/mental side of what that fear meant to me, I fell pregnant having never seen a + ever! Just felt called to share that with you x Good luck and may your baby come soon!

I was vegetarian for 20 yrs, had infertility and IBS. Started a meat-heavy, grain free diet. Supplemented with Vit D3, Iodine, cod-liver oil, Ubiquinol, amangst others. Fell pregnant naturally no problems, gave birth easily at 42. May I suggest Dr. Robert Kiltz and Dr Jason Fung RUclips channels?

I had no issues with my first baby, was not vegetarian, trying to conceive again & I am vegetarian. I’m iron deficient, thyroid not working properly and I can’t get pregnant. I’m ovulating properly and now have a LPD. I didn’t have any of these before when I was eating meat & dairy 😢

Doctor what if our tsh is normal but you have thyroid antibodies and that might be causing the previous miscarriages. Fertility doctor put me on levothyroxine 25mg for that reason. Currently trying to conceive for 3 months now. What to do about thyroid antibodies, should keep thanking the meds?
