    UPDATE ON MY SECOND PREGNANCY HASHIMOTOS CHAT:
    • 2nd Trimester w/ HASHI...
    PLEASE READ: This is just my experience, I am not a medical professional in any way so make sure you get yourself a great GP or specialist to work with you.
    I also want to say there are so many women who have hashimotos and are incredibly successful and have had great pregnancies- Laurel from Sweet Laurel Bakery and Susan Yara are two that spring to mind :) I also have to say that MTHR is REALLY COMMON in women with hashimotos and thyroid issues and worth exploring.

    Thank you! In my case I was not planning on getting pregnant, but I am, but knowing that you had a healthy baby is a breath of fresh air....google keeps putting articles of deformities and autism due to hypothyroidism and drinking thyroid pills, uhh it just breaks you down and makes you feel awful...but thank you for your positiveness

    Thank you so much! I have Hashimoto's hypothyroidism as well and can relate to everything you mentioned. So helpful and reassuring since I am preparing for conception this coming fall. I am already practicing self care by consuming whole foods, exercise, and improved sleep and stress levels. Having Hashimoto's is a challenge, but can be done with pregnancy.

    This is not meant to disrespect your life and video. I apologize in advance if it makes you uncomfortable... I have Hashimoto's disease and I haven't had ANY of the symptoms that you have. Nor was I checked every month to make sure everything was ok. I just called the doctor when I felt that my Thyroid was starting to swell, and they would get me in for an appointment as soon as possible. That only happened once out of my pregnancy so far. I am 25 weeks currently. Nor did I see a doctor before I got pregnant. Mainly because I wasn't planning on having a baby, but life happens. I also didn't get the medication I needed until I was 3.5 months pregnant, And everything is fine with baby. I wanted to emphasize that every woman, pregnancy, baby, illness/disease is different. Yesssss what your saying is helpful. But also scary. I didn't bleed one time. I just don't want other woman to watch this and think DISASTER is going to strike them because of Hashimoto's disease. But Someone will benefit from your story, and for that thank you for sharing.

    • @beckyocole

      Oh gosh that is not my intention at all! Oh the NHS it's recommended that you get your TSH levels at a certain level before conceiving and you have to get bloods done for your consultant every 4-6 weeks so that what I did. I didn't bleed in my second pregnancy apart from spotting in 1st trimester. Everyone is so different and thanks for sharing your story too.

    Have been super anxious with thinking of becoming pregnant with my newly diagnosis of unspecified hypothyroidism of only 2 years. I also have on my fathers side women who haven’t been able to conceive and on my mother’s side women who have been super fertile.
    This video has really helped me so much to feel less anxious about becoming pregnant. Gut issues, fatigue and just overall imbalance of weight gain/loss has been the hardest part of this thyroid complication.
    Thank you for making this video really was very information and encouraging. ❤️

    I've had 6 losses 19-20 years old, my last loss was in April. I've known i had a thyroid problem since I was 14. I did research day and night and talking to my aunts and cousins who have a thyroid problem as well. But my drs felt my neck for many years and said I was fine. Then at 20 years old I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism by my husband Dr, she did blood work. I told her my obgyn just felt my neck and she's like no were doing blood work. And boom i was right all along..

    Hi Becky.. your video is really giving me hope as I was also trying to conceive for number 2.while my daughter is 5 and half years .. I visited to docotr first and was diagnosed with hashimotos it’s been almost 3 months while I am taking levothyroxin 50mg .. and my TSH level is very normal and safe for pregnancy .. I really wanted to get pregnant soon as my daughter wants her partner very anxiously .. I saw many videos and I was scared that with hashimotos one cannot get pregnant but ur video give me hope .. if possible I would like to write you personally so u can better explain me how u track ur fertility and so on.. it would really helpful for me .. and I would be very very thankful to you ..🥰

    Which gp do u go to?! Mine gave no such thorough treatment and said I was fine to try for a baby even though I was at 5+ on my levels. My levels recently went to 41.18 and they still told me to try!! 😡🤦🏽‍♀️

    Was your baby ok after birth? Is it healthy and strong like any other ?
    My husband is worried if we bring babies they will be weak because of my thyroid condition and prone to sickness... Well he is a worried some husband. And I got diagnosed when i was around 15 y old and by now 27 y old I am kind of getting it balanced,,,, took almost 10 y to balance me XD
    I want to have many babies and I am so worried about having natural birth and also having this condition of the body (same like you)

      You can always get genetic screening if you're really worried on that front. Or both of you could talk to a thyroid specialist and they will put your mind at rest with stats and what not! Best thing you can do is to get a really great health team around you, that's what I did and it's the best thing I did. They will make sure you're strong before you attempt conceiving and thats the most important thing. Lots of women have thyroid issues and go onto having healthy multiple births x

    How can you get pregnant with hypothyroidism? I was diagnosed after having my son.... he’s now 8 months and I really want another baby.

    • @beckyocole
      @beckyocole  4 года назад +1

      You would need to go to your GP and get a consultant to work with you to make sure your levels are ok for pregnancy and then during pregnancy they check you very regularly and adjust the medication so that stay within range. You can also support your thyroid in a natural way at the same time too, which I recommend. I have a list of resources linked in this post :)

      Becky O Cole I actually went to an obgyn the one who was supposed to deliver my son , he came later so he wasn’t able but he kept telling me that it was possible to still get pregnant to keep trying every day 3 times a day I’m trying to go to another one because I don’t like his comments lol and thank you I’ll have to read up on it

      Becky O Cole I also forgot to mention that I am on medication. My doctor had me off of it for 6 weeks to get my levels re checked and when I got re checked they still weren’t good so she’s having me on a lower dosage and wants me to retest with my new doctor

      It's definitely really common to get hypothyroidism after a pregnancy-there's a book by Jolene Brighten all about the thyroid for women postpartum, you should read it, I think you'd like it!

    • @beckyocole

      Hi Denise, I think it was three months in total. Not too long. The two biggest helps were getting my TSH levels really low with the help of a consultant and going off gluten! x

    Hello, I was just diagnosed by Hashimotos. What was your TSH before taking any pills before pregnancy? How much was your starting dose and highest dose during pregnancy? Thanks a lot for sharing.

    • @beckyocole
      @beckyocole  6 лет назад +1

      I had hashimotos for about 9 years before I got pregnant so before pregnancy I believe I was sitting at about TSH 3 then I changed my dose gradually and ended up taking 100mg x5 days a week and 75mg x2 days a week I believe! Now Im back to 100mg at weekends and then 75mg mon-fri xx
