If you have to rely on a .32ACP for defense, I highly recommend using Lehigh Underwood Extreme Defense ammunition. With the solid fluted bullet, you effectively get expanded hollow point performance without fail. I have weak hands myself (multiple carpal tunnel surgeries) and rely on .380ACP with this ammunition. There are plenty of videos out there showing how truly effective these rounds are.
This is what I carry too
what do you think is the best 38 special ammo for self def?
@@J0HnNySands1federal hst
I agree with this comment, however to piggyback on it: make sure you *thoroughly* test Underwood/Lehigh Xtreme Defense in your Tomcat/30x. My personal Tomcat model will *not* cycle (FtF) a single magazine (tested with 4 magazines) of the Underwood Xtreme Defender .32ACP standard pressure. The +P offering's added pressure may help in cycling of this ammunition in your Tomcat, but beware that if it is the original model you may experience the infamous frame cracking.
@@gutpopper1637 Very good point. The Underwoods seem to work best in the Kel Tec P32. I would just run hot Euro FMJ ammo in the Tomcat for reliablity, or, load one Underwood in the tip up barrel for the first shot and then FMJs in the mag behind it.
I saw this at the local gun store a week ago and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. It’s beautiful. I might go get it just to have one.
Yes! I love the grips on this.
@@sammyday3341 The grips are great, but they make the unit thicker by 1/4 of an inch. If you are carrying it in a pocket those snag hazards and thickness could be a deal breaker. The barrel tip up release and the mag release being relocated are an improvement.
Instead of a 45 suppressor, check out the GSL Alleycat. It's a 32ACP suppressor made for the Beretta. Only 4oz.
Thanks 🙏
Do you know how quiet the alley cat is? I heard a huge difference between this one with and without the extension
I love Beretta as a manufacturer. The 30x Tomcat is undoubtedly cool, but for practical purposes it’s hard to beat the Ruger LCP max. The Max is smaller in every dimension and it’s lighter. It’s also chambered in the more potent 380 ACP and has a 10+1 capacity. I wish Ruger would release a threaded barrel model.
That's exactly where I'm at now. I want a very concealable gun for church/social functions where I don't want most people to know. This 30X is likely a little smaller, but with Ruger you get a bigger round. To me the jump in size (of pistol) from 32 to 380 is negligible, where there is enough difference between 380 and 9mm to keep me with LCP Max as my top pick so far.
It’s just god awful to look at compared to this beretta option.
Recoil and ease of loading for those with hand problems is one place this shines. a 90 year old woman with arthurites can load and shoot this, where she may not be able to work the slide or handle the recoil of the ruger. I took a header about six months ago and landed on my hands, for about a month I had problems working a slide, opened up a new understanding of disabilities and firearms.
The problem with the Ruger is the massive recoil of the 380 acp in that light of a gun. With 32 no recoil to speak of. Most people don’t practice with the Ruger lcp 380 because of the recoil.
Id rather own a beretta than a ruger. There's a certain pride that goes with it which results in more desire to practice with it and keep it cleaned.
Perfect for concealing when cycling on desolate and wooded trails!
Yes, ideal for hiking continental trails, through Appalachia.
Be aware that this gun is so fat that it will print a lot more than all other 32 or 380 mouse guns, especially the Kel-Tec P32 which is similar in size and width to all the Ruger LCP versions. It is also significantly heavier. Therefore while this is a good looking gun, typical Beretta, it may not be the best for concealing or carrying all day. Still, I'm really glad Beretta came out with an upgrade to a semi-auto pistol in 32 ACP. The 35% improved DA/SA trigger is also great! I wish they had put a small rail under the barrel because it's kind of a modern feature. It's also too bad Crimson Trace discontinued their lasergrips for the Tomcat and Cheetah.
@@geoffreyarnold7292the Langston tactical tomcat is slightly thinner than the standard, while the 30x is a quarter inch thicker than the standard… imo this one is drop dead gorgeous but for 100 dollars more you can get a more stealthy model with that Ltt trigger job and you can get it with rdo for a few bucks more
Small, comfortable, and fun as hell. What's not to love about it?!
Fantastic review, many thanks. I need another handgun like I need measles but I'm really inclined to add this to my collection.
I love tip ups. They’re beautiful, unique weapons. Such an awesome gun!
I'm surprised you didn't mention that this style of auto pistol can't be pressed out of battery!
I had been traveling and didn't manage to work a range session in in the last 8 months. Went to the range yesterday, started out with my 80X and shot fast and accurate. Transitioned to my 92X and embarassed myself. Yeah, I'll reacquire my skills but that was strong evidence or me - a big, strong guy-that there is a definite benefit of smaller calibers for the majority of people who carry a gun for self-defense
Love it when you shoot suppressed. I bought my 105ccx concealment suppressor 9mm specifically for this and micro carries. 😎 Great video as always.
.32ACP was the gun of choice for many mobsters so I wouldn’t doubt it’s capabilities.
Many gangsters choose the hi-point, because it is cheap and they are ignorant
Umm yeah and let's not forget it was a legit WWI cartridge used in actual war lol... guntuber shills pushing the 9mm stereotypes. "If you cant handle recoil" lol... go look up Ellifritz's data on 22lr.
Worked in ww1
Sure did
A .22 Short is deadly if used effectively. Anyone who tells me a caliber is useless always stutters when I hand them a gun in that caliber and order them to ignore gun safety on that weapon. Is it as easy or reliable to kill/incapacitate your target as a larger calaber? Maybe not, but if you train to make it count, it can work.
“Golden age for firearms” so true !
Mag compatibility for old 3032 is a great idea!
They've upgraded every single gripe with the original to perfection! I really hope they expand this line to other calibers and colors soon! Not sure how much time we have left...😅
Already put in an order at my LGS. They said expect about a year's wait. 😢 but...😊
Another commenter said that the tilt-up barrel can act in place of a decocker making it safe to lower the hammer.
that extension was amazing...I wouldn't have thought is would be that good. Great comparison
Sootch thanks , I've been waiting to see this.
I'm waiting for the Beretta tip-up in .380... the Wildcat!
Would love it if that came back
Dripping with "second cool"
Indeed. You need one : )
Second cool only unfortunately
Nice Nutntancy reference! But it's definitely the truth, a very "second cool" kind of gun.
what’s the first cool over this one? i just bought one of these yesterday. just curious
Those are super quiet with the can. You would think that tip up design would have leaked a lot of noise but the results speak for themself
Very little gas back to the face which is also a big plus. It's definitely a great suppressor host. Thanks
I like that you can put a red dot on here even though he doesn't show it. the covert model is pretty damn sexy but then I like darker shades rather than chrome and steel. Baretta also doesn't call it the bug out they call it the "Get Home Bag" model
Glad you mentioned the slide fractures. I had one it broke at the range. Love my 92fs Centurion and my 25 acp Bobcat but never replaced the 32. The gun shop did give me a full refund. Like you I favor the mouse guns.
I have the Tomcat but I prefer my Kel-tec P32 it is very light in comparison. I have several 7 and 9 round mags. No supressor, maybe a pillow?
Looks like a nice pocket pistol for concealed carry or in an ankle holster (although I’m not a fan of ankle holsters). Good for those who want a small pistol, low recoil and accurate. I would consider it.
Always remember that on the Bobcat, racking the slide will not eject the round in the chamber.....this is due to the Bobcat not having an ejector.....cases are ejected by the blowback gasses.....this also comes into play with a misfire....racking the slide will not eject it.....you must remove the failed cartridge with your fingers from the chamber.
Love when I see and old man collecting all my supplies for me 😂😊
Don't diss 32acm. After all, Big Bad Leroy Brown had one in his pocket for fun. Along with that razor in his shoe!
I carried a 25 tip up as a backup jn the early part of my LE career. But sadly its long gone, so im lusting over this one,😎
I have a Sig P365XL and I love it, but as usual Beretta makes a beautiful weapon!
Another thing it always consider when thinking about shot placement in self-defence is Adrenaline. When your in a situation that is giving ya the scare needed to draw and shoot, your body will flood your system with adrenaline as a defence response. Problem is that can mess up your aim as Adrenaline can make your hands quite shaky even with training. So to solve that two things are best done. Train shooting with gun after doing a max out rep or several on your arms, getting them all weak and tired is a great way to sim out the feeling. Second is to get a handgun round that even when your body is flooded full of adrenaline it doesn't affect your aim in a significant way. Thus something like a .380 or .32 might be a good pick if you have a harder time shooting accurately in this scenario with a 9mm
Did Beretta move their headquarters? It used to Accokeek, Md. and I see it’s now in Tennessee
Their international HQ is in Bressica Italy
I've tried 4 p365s and they all jammed. The 365XL worked flawlessly though.
05:30 it's just a pity you can't lock the slide when firing then it would be very covert. Afterall with the threading, high sights and tip up barrel in .32 it's basically an assassins pistol.
Goldfinger is a dead man walking now.
Mothers Day is coming 🤗
I want one of these for my purse. 😊
Omega9k sounds great on Tomcat as well
This would go real well with my Odessa 9.
My VZ-61 is real good with it.
Been wanting a full size 9 can. The 105ccx concealment suppressor is perfect for this. Its only like 2-3in with one baffle. Oh the cost of fun.
@@lancedooley7558
I remember when JK Suppressors were do it yourself kits at home.
The Odessa-9 was the 1st modular 9mm can on the market & I bought it the month it was released. I like how you can just run with the blast chamber
The Erector Set by Q is a good comparable. The JK Armament 105ccx is similar but with less baffles options.
@@Crangaso yep. I've been looking at getting another 9mm.
Awesome. Now where is it for sale because I’ve looked at most of the big online stores & they don’t even have the 30x searchable yet.
Nice! 👍🏽
Very neat addition to the gear… definitely wouldn’t hurt all preppers to have a .22 or like you got the .32 version
But I’ve always been a fan of the beretta tomcat. 👌🏽
I wonder why Beretta did not make the new 32x with a polymer frame
I miss the classic trigger guard profile. I'd like to see an updated version of their .22LR version as a suppressor host in a lightweight alloy frame (like the airweight revolvers). Of course, if Ruger made a suppressor height sight model of their LCP II .22LR suppressor host... it would be the winner.
Tomcat is 32 ACP only. The Alleycat is the Tomcat with night sites. The Bobcat is .22LR, The Pussycat is the 950 BS .25 ACP. Wildcat Model 84 is .380.
@@lynnkramer1211 Yep! would like to see the Bobcat get this treatment
Mr. Sootch, please tell my wife how much we need one of these new baby Berettas. I did just get the covert Bobcat, but we need this to add to the family. Thank you, Sir!
DO NOT leave on the o-ring when mounting a suppressor. You'll ultimately end up mounting the suppressor non-concentric to the bore
Beretta the best ❤
Definitely my favorite pocket pistol of them all, though i wish you used a rugged oculus22 suppressor on this one.
Hair Thank you for the teacher and his unique weapons training
It seemed to be very handy with beautiful design.
I’ve always liked & wanted that .32 pistol 😎🤙🏼🤙🏼
Great marketing! Get home bag model makes me want one!
Glad you tested this one. Very cool pistol
I love Beretta
Ruger should wake up! If they would offer the LCP MAX in 32 cal. They could never meet or keep up with the demand. Thanks for the very good review.
I've been reading the early James Bond Books where he was using a Beretta .25 (Model 418) before he switched to the Walther PPK. This gun seems like the modern equivalent.
Mmmmm a modern hushpuppy
I have the original from my brother, Eternal Memory to him, but this thing is wicked cool! Thanks for the video! I didn't know this existed. ☦️
i actually kinda wish it came with 1 flush mag and one extended mag. That way up front its more pocketable but if things are bad enough you actually need to reload then the next has a bonus round in it. Maybe modify the 7rounder to fit the 30x
8:30 I’ve never understood the comparisons between hammer fired DA/SA’s to striker fired polymer pistols. Totally different tools and DA/SA’s prevent “Glock leg”.
Sweet piece. Whisper quiet
I like that a lot!
Glock 26 with a threaded barrel seems to make so much more sense as a a bug out bag pistol…much more ballistically effective round, more capacity, and option to use super extended mags. For those who 9mm is “too strong a round” (geez) or if they have neuropathy or arthritis I guess these make sense…better than a 22 lr/mag derringer. Just seems with all of the micro-9s with the 10+ capacity there’s better choices.
Frame looks funny where it's beefier from frame cracks. Do they still look like that?
A chambered round indicator would be useful .
Very cool BUT... miss. We need a LCP II in 32acp w threaded barrel or redesigned p32 w threaded barrel for this option to be viable. This is too heavy and fat to fill the role. Stop calling this a pocket pistol - unless you are 250lbs+ No it isnt. As you point out p32 gets it right for 32acp (size/ weight) and IS a pocket pistol. As for bugout? No again, 22lr wins that role; cp33 suppressed or tx22c or p17 all day over this...
If Ruger came out with a LCP II with a treaded-barrel in .32, I'd be SO happy. I have an INOX Tomcat, and it's great, but even it's a beefy little pocket-bulger. But what I'd REALLY like is if Beretta started making the Cheetah or 80's series-style gun in .32 or if Walther had rereleased the PPK in .32. Cheetah and PPK weren't meant for .380, and they're miserable to shoot.
That last round of shots with the extension add-on was damn near ald school spy movie silencer sound. Very cool. Lond as F but still cool
I wish I could get one, great review
I’m loving all of Beretta’s new stuff but I’m a little concerned about the APX A1 Carry. Magazines haven’t been available for it ANYWHERE for over six months! I even emailed Beretta customer service about this & their reply was that they didn’t know what was taking so long on magazine shipments. I’ve put about 700 rounds through my APX A1 Carry, never had any malfunctions of any kind & I love the little gun, it’s fantastic. You just can’t find magazines for it! I hope Beretta isn’t phasing it out…
Keltec P32 is cheaper and thinner. The tall sites make it less pocketable, same with the extended mag. None of that stopped me from buying the 3032 Covert and saving the $50.
It works well. I don't even need sights
What is the threaded pattern on the barrel?
1/2 × 28
would be cool if they added a way to lock the slide to do like a micro hush puppy build
What is the maximum amount of muzzle energy they recommend for the ammo? I know the old ones suggested less than 130. Can this one run +p?
curious what watch you're wearing?
Excellent review, as always.
I really would like to have one of these my biggest issue is it’s a 32 and 32 ammo is just hard to find
Cool little gun, I have one. But it’s not really any smaller than a LCP Max. It does shoot better though. The SW Bodyguard 2.0 makes this gun kind of pointless though. I have all 3.
You should try the JK 105 ccx 9mm silencer on that pistol.
Can the old 7rd mag be modified to work with the new 30x? For flush fit, better for concealed carry.
Does anyone make .32 ACP suppressor ammo?
Nevermind! Ya covered that bullet speed.
Is the black slide sold separately so you could use it on the standard 30X?
Very fun.
How can they not make that a double stack magazine? The mag well/ grip look massive
If Beretta is sending you Norma with 157 ft-lb of energy, I guess the 30X isn't hampered with the 129 ft-lb "limit". Does the 30X still have a limit? I scanned the manual and didn't see one.
Oops! Nevermind. Too expensive for me at this time. Dang! 😢
The optics cut one thats decked out is $1,000. 😬
Will they release a .22 version of this?
They do, it’s called a Bobcat
Forget about "it has less recoil" and "is better for shot placement". Of course a micro 9mm - like the Glock 43 - is better. But the Tomcat in .32 is just cool. And fun.
How much with silencer
I like it!
Awesome
👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍 buena arma soy fanatico de ella con el supresor
how much does this Tomcat cost with its silencer , Is it possible to have the address of a supplier please 👌
Any idea when these will be available?
Question : what happens to spent cartridges and the broken trash ? How do you clean the environment ?
Sweet bobcat
That silencer takes up space in your bag that could have been used for more ammunition.
I priced one earlier today: $419 + tax, I think I'll pass, they're neat looking but looks don't matter...
So James Bond.
Where can I purchase this Beretta? I have small hands, and this would be ideal.
They should be available in stores now. They may be a little hard to get at first, but they'll be out there. Thanks
Is this available in a 38 special caliber?
