Yo, I just started making beats this year and already have placements, and I'm working on a bunch more. And it's pretty much due to everything I've learned from this channel. Really appreciate yall boys at IMR. Yall really don't have to do this, and yall could definitely charge for it. Yall are doing a real good thing, man. Keep it up.
SideShowChu no nigga we broke
lmfaoooo nigga i know. thats why i'm saying they're doing sumn dope. i'm not saying they should charge people. i want them to keep doing what they're doing.
SideShowChu Bruh, how did you get placement. I have been producing for a year and have improved so much. I just pretty much need help working with the professionals.
Joseph Gedemer Same 😂
They get paid for uploading content on this channel. That's how youtube works. Get a huge following, upload good content, get a lot of views, a lot of thumbs up, a lot of comments, then you get sponsors. They're getting paid for posting this stuff. And that's what's dope about it.
I always felt like I wasn't doing enough with my mixes but you definitely demonstrated that less is more
First time hearing you on the tutorials and I automatically like you the most. Very knowledgeable, professional and giving tips that most other people wouldn't think of giving, very valuable information in this video.
You make the best tutorials on Internet Money, I know it's long since you posted this but thanks a lot, I'm just starting and this one really helped me
KC Supreme and Trav are really really good as well. Also check out Rio Leyva, he's got a lot of good stuff and advice. A bonus to check out would be Illangelo (The Weeknd's producer), he doesn't do tutorials, but he streams his sessions and just talks through the whole thing and what goes through his head and why he does things.
I’m only 15 and I’ve been making beats for bout a year now, and this video helped a lot with my mixing and other things, my other beats are not mixed well at all, and now winced I watched this video, I wanna try sum different, appreciate the tutorial bruh, keep it up🔥
Take note of how good the track sounds BEFORE any processing is applied. Pick good samples/sounds
because garbage in = garbage out
I was definitely taking note of that
They say sound selection is crucial
Bro the beat sound perfect befor the mixing haha
I appreciate you explaining the why part of mixing as well because sometimes without understanding the reasoning behind something, its meaning becomes lost in translation, so to say. Glad you're back doing tutorials and looking forward to much more, LeauxFi.
Pushing a kick (or any sound for that matter) that's already clipping into a limiter on the master is going to completely change the tonality and punch of your kick right off the bat. Experiment with how it sounds with/without the limiter on there to be sure it sounds how you want it to, you can always push the overall volume up later in the mix process if you need to. Just a heads up for people who might not know that.
This is a gem! I work with the mpc live only can put up to 4 inserts per channel. Best tutorial so far thanks aLOT!!!
The leveling part of this video is amazing. Is a great quick start to mixing. Thanks so much.

Best mixing tutorial on RUclips!
Audio engineer Seth Firkins (Aka the person who mixed DS2 aka the best sounding album in Hip Hop) says he doesn't use side chaining unless if something is seriously wrong with the kick and 808.
rip seth
808 District RIP SETH
is it the best sounding album in Hip Hop ever? or this decade?
The truth of the matter is you don’t need to sidechainna compressor to create movement. The right attack and release will do the job
Eynoux Adjoumani
I thought i discovered this too til i realized the compressor i was using internally sidechained the lows. So it comes down to finding the right compressor I was using one of the Antress Modern ones.
Man this beats heattt
Been waiting on dis ever since the first one lol. yall came thru !!!
8 mins in and I've already learned so much!
dope tutorial (i was in the periscope)! One suggestion tho, for a video this long it may be helpful to have like timestamp links to each part of the video

you either have 808 for the lows or the synth bass. both clash and phase
Incredible tips; thank you.
'Since the lote is so now'😂😂
And then again after that "since the lote is so low" and thats when i almost died laughing...
Its fine tho, great tips, great tutorial, great everything.

Good vid my man. I like your taste, speaking, and professionalism.
This vid is dope af, been learning a lot thanks to internet money.
U killing me with that reverb on the hi hat.. don't understand why
so many gems but the beat is hard, im missing them tryna vibe
Aye yo this tutorial was A1. Definietly learned alot! yall keep up the good work.
Video suggestion:
-could yall do a vid explaining how to start selling beats? I get we should go upload to youtube or beatstars or something but im confused as to how it works after that. Do u just upload and hope that someone finds it and buys it?
Learned a hell of a lot from this! 👍
You should make a tutorial on using multiple snares, multiple hi hats or hats in general, multiple kicks, etc. because I lose my focus sometimes working with both hi and low hats
Can you guys make a tutorial on how to make a reese bass? y'all usually explain better than other channels..
Does anybody know what sounds he using in this beat for melody it sounds so dope i would be so happy if anybody knows
Yessss been waiting!
What exactly is side chaining, I don't fully understand
Always NICE AND TIGHT! lol Good vid bro
I've always mixed my shit while I'm making a beat. Eq reverb adjust volume fuck with the 808. Might stall me up creative wise but I guess time wise its the same shit
my question is do you set the drums to mono after everything is leveled. or keep them as is? and do houoan the instruments go the left for seperation?
LeauxFi The best 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you, very helpful
I'm going through the usb to car and back phase right now. Do what you gotta do to get it right. I'm taking that one with me.
Nice tutorial, very helpful. Thx!
youve more than earned my subscrpition with this video!!
Ty Leauxfi, ty so much!
Yoooo a tutorial for this beat itself would be so clutch, there are so many elements I'm curious about and I haven't been able to find any tutorial on them
LeauxFi I've definitely been looking for it, do you have a link to it?
fuck me the beat in the first one was pretty good, this one just blew my fucking mind, and great tips again my man
You can keep your cursor on the effect and just scroll with the mousewheel if you want to move it up or down .. just in case you didn´t knew that
Trippin Moonjuice been using fl since 2-3 years and i didnt know that 😂😂 thanks man ✌️
How well should I mix my beat for sales beatstars?
man s/o the IM team yall dope !
16:20 understable, have a good day.
This is nice fam!
And may you give in detail how loud each drum and melody (should be) in a commercial track?
So is ok to not put your drums and bass in mono and melody in stereo ?
next tutorial can it be like spacey melodys like this? im in love with these type of melodys but have no idea how to create them, thanks
i understand what your saying, i checked out the ambient melody tut by nick, but what im looking for more is how to create the actual sound from scratch
Yo can you do a tutorial on how to get rid of the pops when you're trying to use Gross Beat? Mainly half speed setting. And I'm not talking about pops from bad sampling.
Josh Kelly use the bottom portion/volume section of gross beat to cut off pops where your markers are placed. Just turn the attack and release all the way down.
