@@FuriousMaximum That’s what I meant. Like, the Kirby games I played have some abstract level design one minute, and then sometimes you’re thrown in a spot with a horde of enemies (and sometimes a mid-boss) but then afterwards more often than not, there’s treats around (healing items) to reward you for your hard work. They’ve been around since…Kirby Super Star, I’d say. Especially in The Great Cave Offensive mode.
Man, I'm pumped that this work is still being looked at now, and compared to Kirby. In some ways I wanted plenty of mid-bosses, with different music, but still have be overall like a Metroidvania 😊@@supreme-ss777
@@FuriousMaximum I’m proud to bring attention to Mega Man Maker levels that are actually really good. Why should all the low effort ones stay in the spotlight? Everyone loves a good Mega Man remake (be it of the NES/SNES/PlayStation games, or even the Game Boy ones) but it’s also good to see something actually original! *PlayStation, meaning Mega Man 8.
@@FuriousMaximum im also making a metroidvania and testing is the longest part bcs you need to see if the enemies are balanced, if there any bugs/glitches and if it is overall fun
Yea, the maker program starts to lag hard after 150 screens and this is 250. It can play ok, as the video shows but, ouch building it requires patience for loading. Still, Worth It!
That might have taken a long time to make, and it was worth it. Good for you lad.
It took change under 2 months to test out all the different route combinations to check for stuck points and hard locks.

So…like the Kirby games, there are some ambush rooms.
Most of them are either right before and / or after a save point.

This a really cool level nice
Ou, thank you thank you :D
@@FuriousMaximum how long did it take to make the level?
It took about 2 months. A lot of it was testing to make sure I could go in different route order and it would still be passable.

I started to create the metroidvania
Awesome. That's good news. Keep at it, 1.8 enhanced the performance so bigger stages should load faster and lag less.
crazy how this doesnt even take half the screens

@@FuriousMaximum do you think in 1.8 we could make 1000 screen levels that are playable
@@m4rcyonstation93 Not certain yet, but I'm working on a Metroidvania now that has to be over 252 screens.
Nice gj
Thank you thank you 😊!
I once made one but I deleted it. A shame...
I hope you get back to it someday. Mega Man Maker needs more Metroidvanias.
Hello. I'm also working on a metroidvania lvl. mind if I borrow some ideas from this?
If this gave you some new technique ideas (like boxes on conveyors, or switch puzzles) sure. Glad to inspire.
