Could not beat this boss even once, tried for three days until I did what this video said. I had to do all of the available camp repairs so i could upgrade my woodcutters and archers each to their second-to-last upgrades and clear upgrades from my ascetics, but it worked beautifully. Thank you!

I second this! I read several other people say to go with all archers or 3-4 archers + 1-2 ascetics, and that never worked. I also saw people saying not to light all the lanterns and just fight him by yourself on the other side of the arena. No matter what I did, the worms would end up killing the maiden. BUT once I included 3 woodcutters, I won on my first try. Thanks for the vid!
extra little tip, you can position villagers before the fight right next to the lanterns so they can start lighting them immediatley after you order them to (they can even walk past the "barrier" that triggers the boss fight) since they stay where you placed them
This worked for me to progress further, though not with the archers, but 2 Ascetics and 3 Woodcutters. I'll be back when I fully upgrade them to try this strategy for the quick kill.
Needs less health or RNG. Even if you follow a strategy that works it can just run away (prevent attacks) or reset the lights (lighting them 3 times is a loss).
If you are a little ahead on the game and already unlocked Soh's upgrades, you can equip the ability to hit stunned enemies and hit on the tongue/face, cause a lot of damage, just followed the tips of this video and got it in 01:52
The truth is that if you unlock more classes and more Soh's abilities, you can try many different setups and still get to kill it under the 3 minutes time limit.
@@SpiLiBoGG yeah, I confess tried with a little different setup and was too slow, the combination of 3 wood and 2 archers got It, i think i was a little dumb not trying that lol
In order to upgrade villager classes or Soh's abilities, later on, you need Musubies. You can find those at stages, in hidden crates for example which you can get by using a thief, or by making repairs at the bases you unlock.

You can't heal Yoshiro, unfortunately. Re-doing boss fights or other battles isn't going to help you, because there is no xp levelling up system in this game. You can instead complete repairs at your bases to get musubi, which you can then use to upgrade your villager classes and you can also complete challenges to get Mazo talismans, which will buff either your damage or your heal ratio, etc . Doing that will make this boss and the next bosses fights easier.
I tried to figure out how to do this too then it hit me, I had to have two Rank 5 sorcerers and have anger and happiness talisman equipped while I had Sumo and Shaman out with the last villager having any other attacker role and laughably… it worked one hit kill from Sorcerer attack😂 I hope this helps

I tried this method like, 6 times, but we dont have the damage for it and the leeches it summons keep killing yoshiro :/ my guys while defending her just can't kill them fast enough and there's way too many in the swarm.

The good thing about that, is that you can undo the upgrades you made to your mages and use your musubi to upgrades better classes, such as the archers or spearmen later on.
Easy for you to say? How do you have so many other areas unlocked and completed when you get to this boss? You have a lot more upgrades to your dudes. I just don't see how you have opened up those other areas before beating this boss. Are you playing in new game+ already?
Uuhhh he came back to the boss after clearing more areas? You can literally do what he shows in this video with the gear you've unlocked by the time you reach this boss. If you're having trouble beating him in general, just set all your villagers to Guard, have the gear on that increases the light around you, then just keep slowly chipping away at his face. Run and use dodge when he's charging, don't get too far as he slows down a lot when tired. Took me 10 minutes doing that the first time I beat him.
@@GeekExtremist Problem is I was unable to open up any more areas until I beat this boss. So, I'm not sure how that is possible. I did finally beat this boss. Lighting all the lights and attacking the tongue helps a LOT! And just hope that the snake doesn't ram the girl you're protecting. Which he did for me many times . . . quick game over. Also - I don't have any gear that increases light around me. So, that was not an option.
I've already beaten this boss once, that's why i have other parts of the map unlocked. In this video i was showing how to complete the challenge of killing it under 3 minutes. I don't know if the game has a new game+ mode, because i haven't finished it yet.
You have to kill this boss, in order to move to the next area. The first time i've beaten this boss, it took around 7 minutes with normal woodcutters and archers. You need the upgraded ones to deal more damage faster, in order to beat the 3 minute challenge.
@@jglaziers i literally completed the challenge before i moved to the next area. you can fully upgrade your woodcutter if you didn't upgrade the mage guy. You can also upgrade your archers to 2nd highest level if you complete previous area challenges (except boss challenge) and i killed this boss by 2:53 min. All you need is patience and a bit of thinking.
i only fully upgraded the woodcutter and i i only upgrade my archers till 2nd highest level. I still beat it but barely with 2:53 on the clock so its not impossible but need to be kinda patient and some thinking

Nice one. I was only able to do it once I unlocked Soh's ability to do a high damage hit to stunned targets.

You can always come back to the boss when you get stronger. That's what I did

what talismans do you use?
I used the Diviner's Gourd and the Soultaker Talismans.
i only have 4 villagers no wonder this wasn't panning out for me
