Essential Mix 95 - Pete Tong
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 1 май 2012
- A mix of Progressive, House and Hard House. Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Carl Cox and Sasha each put in a studio mix for BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix series. This four installment series was from May 1995 and ranks with me as one of my all time favourite Essential Mix sessions. Each has a unique style but for my money Sasha and Carl Cox's mixes are the best. Enjoy and let me know what you think?

Quite often pop back every few months - like tonight! Never, ever disappoints and always a smile
Still have this on CD, got it when it came out and it was just before starting a new life in a different city - clubs, drugs, booze and women - best time of my life. Unlike now, 9-5, kids, shit loads of bills and crap music!
hahaha
You've changed man 😂
Move to Spain mate thats wheres it happening... you only live once if you live well once is enough .. good luck been there divorced now having the best time
HAHAHA
Time is a cruel mistress, for sure... But life is only ever what YOU make of it
@@danielhughes3472 you’d recommend?
93- 97 The best years in House. Raves were well organised by then and the emergence of really good clubs, decent clean speed and pill that were on point, from Disco funky house to Acid Tech and hard core and Gabba, drum and bass. What an era. Time of our lives back then.
“What’s ya name? Where ya from?
Reach for the lasers! Safe as fuck!!” 😆
Those years were epic for dance music! Wish i had a time machine to go back
DJ Misjah & DJ Tim - Access \0/

Ive still got mine in a plastic container full of house and trance CDs. Still listen to it.
Neurodancer was always played full blast at home. Still not beaten by a drop.
Used to have this on a blank tape a mate gave me with with Essential Mix 95 on it. I'm genuinely only finding out now that it was Pete Tong after some google snooping.
I always remember that last trio of tracks been absolutely banging. Wippenberg - Neuro Dancer still gives me rushes.
Access, whippenburg, crescendo a few others!! I went on to purchase myself copies on vinyl a few years later and still them with a few hundred others lol 👌🙌
Never take this down please!!!
Decent line up
OMG I still remember like it was yesterday, 20 years ago, first year of Uni, buying this from HMV for £15.99 and playing to nonstop. Then off to the House or Beatroot nightclubs in Nottingham. Still have the full set of CDs in the loft! Memories...memories.. Good times.
Remeber seeing Outrage at the House
Same for me, different city/uni
Track 7. Pendulum..... had forgotten how brilliant that track was.
One of the first CDs I ever bought. Awesome.
Wow, that’s a drum roll & killer piano on nakasaki!
Sold this compilation for beer tokens back in 90s. What a young fool I was.
Play.... And the wave of memories wash over. All 4 mixes are special.
discovered this again in a box, stuck it on in the car, what the funk- brilliant times!
The mix between I need you and Access. My god
That is down to the talent of Charlie Brook who produced the mix for Pete Tong
Holy shit,I was 15 when I heard this album, almost brings a tear to my eye when the memories come flooding back, awesome post :)
Lol, yeah same here.....think I was 19....good memories!

Whoo, who who whoo! Hide-away!
Instant transportation to better times and feels.. just eternally classic.. xxx
This is the CD that kept blowing my speakers.
Eventually, I took my system into the music shop and played this through different speakers.
I settled on a pair of Cerwin Vega DC10s.
They gave this mix the justice it deserves...and could handle Are You Ready To Fly? (That fecker always got wound up to 11!)
Still got all 4 CDs and I'm teaching the grandkids what proper music was and still is!
Yeah Yeah Access.are you ready to fly.and gotta have house.Best 3 tunes.
Soundtrack for my clubbing days
Playing it now
This just puts a big smile on your face from the very start....good times.😁
Playing this now 27/03/20
WHAT A TIME WHAT N ERA 😳 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤ LOVE THIS 😊😊😊😊
It was a great time to be a DJ.
I remember having it when it first came out only for all four cd’s to get destroyed in my mates car cos he used to leave them out of their cases and rolling around in his door storage. Thought it was gone, forever!
They rereleased it about six years later, I walked into HMV in Trafford Centre and it was there. Saved!
Oh my goodness. I had this on CD and for some reason it got thrown out many many years ago. Brings back some memories listening to it again. Happy chappie.
Bought it for my sister for Christmas as she wanted and bought Purely so I could copy it!! 😂😂👌
I have still have this CD. £15.00 from Our price May 1995 :) i was 19
NO GENRES,PURE HOUSE,HOUSE MUSIC OH YEAH !!! CANT GET THESE DAYS BACK,UNLESS IT GOES FULL CIRCLE,IT WOULD BE FOR THE BEST,I THINK.IVE HAD MY DAY MIND YOU,I,M 46 NOW WITH QUITE SEVEREMENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS.REGRETS !!! IVE HAD A FEW !!!!
you can never get too old to close your eyes and get lost in the music in your imagination man :) it is quite a shame however that ill never get to experience this era of humanity by other means
Haven’t listened to this in years... played this to death back in the day the mix of the last 4 tracks is engraved in my brain. Access nearly drove me mad with psychosis back in the Club UK days... wouldn’t change a single moment /memory though.
Too many good nights out started with this album. The Tong Cox mix would build you up into a really big night out. Sasha sees the dawn in, and then a cracking Oakenfold mix to see things through.
PARTY TIME! 👋🏻🎉🥳
i loved, bring me back some good memories when we are young
best cd of '95 ,,,, loved this album , and still do!
Jesus what a find x

Good year for house. Albums such as 'In the mix' and Renaissance. Cream anthems and Ibiza resort hitting the lime light. Bring us DJ gods such as Tong, Cox, Oakenfold, Sasha, Faversham ,Paul Tall, Lisa 'Pin Up' Lashes, and many more including the New york connection with Dave Clarke and Leeds Back to Basics. Great era for Deep dish House and Trance.
Duane Hurn New York connection with back to basics? Which back to basics did you go to?
Essential Selection...by Pete Tong. Used to be played weekly on our alt./club music radio channel Radiostacja in Poland. I was recording my tapes as well, yup.

When I was young
If you click on the "Show more" button it will expand and show you all the tracks! What is playing at 28.00 is your guess as good as mine. Generally, rule of thumb is three tracks every 15 mins though so probably 6.) Crescendo - Are You Out There or 7.) Pendulum - I Need You
