I like Seth Rogen, he's one of my favourite (in comedies), but this list about the top 10 Canadian actors. But Plummer is another level. He was a lead in The Sound of Music, received two academy award nominations in the past 7 years, and won his Oscar when he was 83 years old.
By the way, Leslie Nielsen should be heigher on the list than Rogen.

Very happy with the #1 pick but Martin Short deserves a higher spot on this list than just an honorable mention
as a Canadian I feel like Leslie Nielsen deserved a spot on the list as opposed to an honourable mention. He was one of the first Canadians to make it big in Hollywood. As far back as the 1950s he was in movies like The Forbidden Planet. I agree with the rest of the list though.
Hey Mojo interesting info fact for you: At 6.04 with Keifer Sutherland is also a Canadian actor Currie Graham. He hails from a small town in Ontario Prescott. He is has been in a bunch of shows as a character actor.

Love how both father and son are on this list: Donald and Kiefer Sutherland. Both of them are great actors.
Donald's other son Rossif is a very good actor as well. Plus, he speaks fluent French and acts in both English and French speaking productions. I have seen him in a few shows produced in Québec.
I think either Michael J. Fox or Donald Sutherland should be 1st. They have both contributed more to movies while remaining loyal to Canada.

Great list, although I think some of the mentions could easily beat out the lower ranked guys, like Christopher Plummer is a legend! Glad there were lots of awesome honourable mentions nonetheless. I was thinking Rachel McAdams was forgotten, but I derped and realized they were going by the singular male term for people who act. Perhaps Canadian actresses will be a different list. He was even in the Japanese movie Godzilla. Number 2 Lorne Greene, Pa Cartwright from Bonanza and as the detective Griff. And lastly the legendary Mary Pickford.

A "very important" Canadian actor? Oh, you do make me laugh...I live and breathe movies, and I've seen only ONE of his films (and that was by accident, and I can't remember what the hell he did in the film). It's not as if Ryan Reynolds is Al Fucking Pacino, a guy you can't help but run into all the time, because he's been in so many great fucking movies...let's face it, you take away "Deadpool", "The Green Lantern", "X-Men Origins", and what's left? "Two Guys, A Girl and A Pizza Place" (the TV show)? Cripes. Those are his best known movies, and it reads like the line-up of a movie retrospective at Comic-Con or some shit. And to be brutally honest, I don't think any of those films are going to be stored under the National Registry for "historically significant films". Ryan Reynolds can disappear, for all I care.

I figured Jim Carrey or Christopher Plummer would be number 1. I personally would've put Plummer at number 1, but I love Carrey too. Who doesn't? His movies are part of my childhood after all--The Mask, Batman Forever, Ace Ventura and Liar Liar.

Did they say John Candy's last film was Canadian Bacon??? It was Wagons East because he died on set just as the movie was wrapping. Canadian Bacon was slower in post so it came out a year later.
