The show was over by then but I remember she'd rent the VHS tapes for me and we'd watch them together. I later went as her again for Spirit Week 80's day in High School. With all of the junk studios put out, a movie must be unfathomably bad to be pulled from theaters. Is it odd that if a movie is banned, I automatically want to see it more? I’m curious to know how bad the movie really is.
I'm a little sad the misunderstood gem "Last Action Hero" wasn't on here. I worked at a little run down one screen theatre when it came out and it was the closest we got to a new release the whole time I worked there because it was bumped out of first run theaters a week after it was released. For decades, I thought my appreciation for the film was based on my sentimentality of watching it in my beloved run down theatre, but I watched it recently to see if it was as bad as everyone else remembers, only to find out it was better than I remembered, and WAY ahead of it's time. I think it's rallied enough of a well deserved cult and critical following over the years that people have forgotten what a huge bomb it was.
I enjoyed Honky Tonk Freeway, but then didn't see it until 30 years after it's release. I think it works as a contemporary of the car crash cinema of the time, such as Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run and The Blues Brothers.
It was a staple of weekend afternoon TV in the UK in the 80s and 90s, I must have seen it half a dozen times. It’s not brilliant but it’s not terrible either, I had no idea it was a huge flop when it was released.
As much as “Kazaam” with Shaquille O’Neill was hated, I’m surprised that wasn’t on this list. But I guess it wasn’t pulled from theaters prematurely as all of these movies were
The backlash against Magoo was one of the most disturbing events in identity politics destroying art. No one assumed his other issues were related to his vision.
You forgot to mention Oogieloves and the big balloon adventure! That movie broke the record as the worst box office opening, and lot of theaters pulled the movie after the first week because no one went to see it in those theaters!
I worked a couple of seasons on a terrible, terrible tv series called "Equal Justice", which was unbelievably bad. I died of boredom just being part of it. The weirdness was heightened by the fact that several of the regulars on the show were actually on the edge of becoming successful and famous, but I've never heard any of them ever admit to being any part of it. Sarah Jessica Parker was about to jump into the stratosphere with Sex and the City, and Joe Morton was going to be in some smash hit movies... I think I saw a rerun once, and I couldn't even watch it, it was so awful. They had a bunch of "guest" directors who did not help the show, and spent all their time telling everyone about the last big thing they had done. Everyone was embarrassed by that turkey... It's always been amazing to me that no matter what, there has to be some magical alchemy to film making, since no matter how many success "boxes" you check off, there has to be that perfect mix of people and timing that just comes together.
(This has probably already been mentioned, but here goes...) Michael Cimino's follow up to his critically acclaimed movie, "The Deer Hunter" (1978) was the notorious "Heaven's Gate" (1980). Running 228 minutes, the movie was so wildly panned that it was pulled (if I remember correctly) after just one day. Not only did critics and audiences alike found it incredibly slow-paced and boring, the movie eventually came under fire for it's mistreat meant of animals, including 4 horses who died during the making of the film (legend has it that one of them was literally blown up; not sure if that's true, but that was what was reported at the time). The movie turned Cimino as a One Hit Wonder of a director, and his career never recovered.
VENOM had the writer from 50 SHADES OF GREY MORBIUS had the writers from GODS OF EGYPT And now KRAVEN THE HUNTER has the writers from TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT Sony's cinematic universe is doomed to fail And all because of AVI ARAD

I saw Morbius with my dad and we both liked it, so did my sister on Netflix last week. The storyline and cgi was all good to us. I'm no critic but I really don't c what's wrong with it. Besides folks, cut Jared a break cause this film was suppose to come out in 2020, but covid held it back for 2 year, he doesn't need your negativity after all the work he put in it. Jem and the Holograms, part of its bombness was of Synergy there, was nothing like in the animation.
Jared Leto is an awful person bruh, have you not heard about how he treated his co stars during suicide squad? He’s disliked for a reason. Also Jem flopped because none of it was like the animation, not just synergy.
I remember that “Kevin and Perry Go Large” lasted about a week in my local multiplex cinemas (Brisbane) in the early 2000s. I had to wait over six months before I could watch it on VHS. I still enjoyed it though.
That film did surprisingly well in the UK and, er... Germany (of all places). I guess most people outside the UK weren't aware of the characters and the joke.

Morbius was so boring that I will never watch it again. With Morbius suffered the most delays, I was glad that I did not get to see it in the theatres. After watching it on Netflix, never again, it was a waste of effort.
I was horrified to see Matt Smith in Morbius. It always sucks to see your favorite actors in crappy movies. I'll just make a Doctor Who headcanon that The Doctor got lost in Hollywood or something, lmao

Update on Uwe Boll, he had previously retired to pursue running a restaurant that went belly up, and now he's returned to do movies with first shift as his first movie and 3 more coming out to be determined release dates (bandidos, run and 12 hours)
Cage is such a character offscreen, that he might make for an interesting biopic subject. And no, "Unbearable Weight" does not count. It's a meta comedy. I have to respect someone who gives his all to whatever he's in. You can question his selectivity all day, but don't you dare question his work ethic. And if he loves what he does for a living, works hard at it, and gets well paid to do it, more power to him: not everyone gets to say that. I'm not exactly a Nicolas Cage fan, but I do admire him for that much.
If you want a good train wreck productions story.....1963 Cleopatra. Soooooo much drama going on behind the scenes. Much more than just the Taylor- Burton "scandalous" affair.
There’s so many people on RUclips that say things like that… do you know how many people use the word “underrated??” People mindlessly throw that word around so much that it’s completely lost its meaning. Everytime I turn around there’s somebody saying that a movie or an actor is “underrated” even when they’re really not. They could be 1 of the biggest movie stars ever or 1 of the most beloved movies ever and there’s at least 1 person saying it’s underrated… it’s unbelievable 😵💫😵💫😵💫
Nobody was going to the movies right after 9/11 so Carey is partially right because the movie is really not that bad nor the worst I've ever seen. Movies like Honey and such did pretty well even though they're in a similar vein as Glitter.

I watched Morbius recently, and I was thoroughly entertained. I don't get why it flopped, to me it was a decent movie. It's only so far you can go with a movie about Vampires.
I think the quality of the filming and the narration was really bad but the actors tried. The script was rubbish so I guess no actor can make miracles with such dialogues.😅
FINALLY someone doesn't hate it ! I'm tired of these negativity , sure the scenes were cutted alot cause of Sony ( we need a director cut 😭) and those god awful post credits scenes, but it wasn't bad
Jem and the holograms was a shattered gem stone before it hit the theaters. Just the reaction the trailer should have been more than enough to go straight to DVD or cable rather than the theaters.
The Morbius movie is good. These doinks talking about how bad it is couldn't have done better. They probably don't even understand the movie, that's why they don't like it.

I loved Jem too, so was totally disappointed in the movie that basically had nothing of the actual show but the name.
I call it Jem and the holocaust now after I saw the trailer to this shit show
My mom made me a Jem (auto correct kept trying to put Gem) costume for Halloween when I was 4 (1992). The show was over by then but I remember she'd rent the VHS tapes for me and we'd watch them together. I later went as her again for Spirit Week 80's day in High School. A couple teachers recognized the look but no students. Lame.
Garbage Pail Kids was awesome. It only gets hate bc of the hype. You know damn well a lot of people love it but bc it's cool to hate on it they say they do. Again Lame.
Oh well. At least we know we can be happy actually being proud of ourselves.

With all of the junk studios put out, a movie must be unfathomably bad to be pulled from theaters. Is it odd that if a movie is banned, I automatically want to see it more? I’m curious to know how bad the movie really is.
My wife and i actually loved live by night. It's definitely an underrated gem.
I agree, it was and is an excellent film.
One film that I thought would be on the list was "Holmes and Watson."
Love that movie. It didn't help that it released so close to Jurassic Park.
Audiences had no capacity to understand satire in the 80s and 90s. This is why verhoven movies were taken at face value at the time.
That's one of my favorite Arnold Braunschweiger movies! A lot of people obviously didn't pick up on them satirizing the action movie genre.
@Oren Black: If you've watched Last Action Hero you'd know what it's referencing
@Oren Black: Jack Slater says "Arnold Braunschweiger" instead of "Arnold Schwarzenegger"
I think I saw this when it came out with my best friend at the cheapo cinema. Lord, I'm old. And what happened to cheapo movie theaters?
As much as “Kazaam” with Shaquille O’Neill was hated, I’m surprised that wasn’t on this list. But I guess it wasn’t pulled from theaters prematurely as all of these movies were

Don't let paid democratic politicians ruin your chance to see a movie you might enjoy
I remember that!! I tried watching it. It was like everything was coated in dust .
I'm sorry but Mortdecai was awesome! I loved it!
Honestly mordechai would have been one of the best movies if it were directed by wes Andersen

This is why there should one Marvel Cinematic Universe (not two, unless they use Multiverse show or film like What If...? or Deadpool 3).
Not only Avi Arad, Sony studio execs as well!! They might as well sell the Spider-Man rights to Disney!! Or even themselves!!😂
Even though Venom had the writer of 50 Shades of Grey, Venom was a much hotter film
