Awwweee thanks Downtown, Financial Peace University (FPU) helped our marriage a lot. I tell people that prior to FPU we had His goals and My goals, Now we have OUR goals. Taking the class and Praying and fasting together definitely brought us one one accord financially and in other areas in our marriage as well.

Derr We had PLENTY of dream dates where we would envision where we want to be in 5 even 10 years from now. We have even done a mock budget for the next couple of years to see how fast we can buy a house cash....lol....

I told a couple of my co workers and my manager that I was doing the Dave Ramsey program of getting out of debt and then my manager started to put me off of work. Well now she's been put out and I'm keeping my plan to myself...I'll be able to say I'm debt free in a few years

When I discussed it with my supervisor she then began to mention I worked too much overtime which had never been an issue before. My new mantra is,"Move in silence."

Thanks Shannon, It is not about the amount of money you make but, how well you budget it! Yes our shovel was a descent size (praise God) but, in the end that made us think that we could afford more debt...
More money = more problems UNLESS you have a plan. And, thank God and Dave Ramsey now we do!!!

We stayed focused by 1) Staying connected to people on the same journey through Dave Ramsey Facebook Groups 2) Having LOTS of visual aids and 3) listened to debt free screams constantly....lol... Those three things helped us stay motivated and keep our eyes on the prize of being debt free...

Yipppeee!!! That’s freedom! Since day 1 of my 7 year marriage m, my husband and I agreed that we will never spend the money that we never have. Everything we owned is paid in cash. We have credit cards but everything is paid at the end of each month.
Wow Happy Camper, That is a good thing to agree upon. We have now agreed to pay CASH for everything, We will never be voluntary slaves again! Cash is King/Debt is Dumb :-)
