The Fiamengo File, weekly on Studio Brulé.
In Episode 43 Professor Fiamengo analyzes the Mandi Gray Rape Case in which a graduate student Mandi Gray invited Mustafa Ururyar for drinks followed by "hot sex" and later charged him with rape. Ururyar was convicted in a controversial case in which he claims Gray was angry because he wanted to terminate the relationship. It appears to be a he-said, she-said case in which Judge Marvin Zuker appeared to be biased against the defendant.

It's not even actually "affirmative" consent either. For a feminist, even if it's affirmative, signed on a contract, lawyers present, they will still try to claim it was abusive...

I recently got excused from a SA trial by stating that any statement by the alleged victim that could not be corroborated by other evidence was, on my view, not evidence at all. I stated baldly to the prosecutor that I would not vote ‘Guilty’ unless the state could produce such evidence. Bye!

Thanks for breaking this down. Excellent analysis, but it’s so depressing for men

Equality is impossible until both sexes are held equally responsible for their adult activities. We need a new law that allows men to accuse women of grape if they leave not completely satisfied with the slippery session.

"I didn't consent, but I didn't not consent" Not rejecting advances and going along with them is enough for it to not be assault even if you didn't Really want to, any trauma from such a situation while unfortunate is NOT due to criminal conduct, but telling someone you are gonna have sex later is in fact consent to having sex later, you can withdraw that consent, but if you don't it stays on the table.

"I didn't not consent..." Aside from being a nonsensical double negative, it is meaningless, unless you bend reason to see the point of view of a person who cannot even articulate an event.

So basically, a woman who changes her mind about sex has no duty to actually comminicate that fact? Men are supposed to- what? - develop ESP and read her mind. Fuck sakes, literally nothing is a woman's responsibility anymore.

How can you put a rape charge on someone when you’re the one who invited them and suggested to get drunk?
