I tried this on plastic bottle and it worked. Thank you for the wonderful idea
My pleasure!
Dude, for real though!!!
same
Brief, concise, no irritating music. Solid advice. This is how all RUclips videos should present information.
Thank you
Oof
I beg to support. Precise info & presentation!
Agreed!
😂
This is why I love the internet, put into search engine 'how to remove a label from a jar' ... and there you go!
Woohoo!
Hehe...hv lots of glass jars of honey...thinking to reuse them forever n replacing plastic jars wd it.
Very useful.
Genius! Can't believe how much time I have wasted scratching away at glue! This worked instantly -- I didn't even have to wait 10-15 minutes, I just put it on the jar, gentle rubbed it in and now my jar is perfectly clean! Thanks so much :D
I don’t comment too often, but I wanted to say this works! Letting it rest for at least the 10 min makes it work better. Also, using something abrasive is a must and not a washcloth. Thanks for the information!
After seeing it suggested in several videos, I tried cooking oil on the stickiest wine bottle label in history. Oil was Little to no help at all on this stubborn mess of a bottle. Then I tried your recipe with the sodium bicarb + the 10, 15, 20 minutes of patience and POOF! JUST LIKE MAGIC!! It just pretty much wiped right off. You rescued me on this in a major way. This color glass was uniquely suited to make just a present for my wife who was seriously bummed out after having ankle surgery early this morning. Thank you soooooo much!!
Hooray!! So pleased to hear it 😍😍😍😍
I've literally been trying to get labeling glue off of a tinted glass for a month, to no avail. This 100% worked the first time..thank youu! ^^
Thank you so much
Came back to confirm this 100% works! I tried everything on google but this was the first search result on RUclips! So I gave it a shot and it’s AMMMAAAZING
I simply can’t believe how easy this is. I did this on the spot! I wasn’t patient enough; so, I started to rub it off after 10 minutes. It came off so easily except some tiny parts. So, you do need to wait 15 minutes.
THANKS FOR THIS HACK!!! 😍😍😍
💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
NO FREAKING WAY!!!!
I have been struggling in removing the sticker residue in my lovely glass jar, and has been soaked in the water with soap for 3 days (and I am literally thinking that in my sleep) was just removed in less than half an hour without a single drop of sweat!!!
I'm serious you should start charging people for this pure genius idea!!!
Thank you very much!!! 😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️
Just tried it on my bottle, it works very well, thank you so much
My pleasure
The cooking oil reacts with the adhesive, the baking soda keeps the oil in place because any oil will "creep", great tip, thanks.
It worked ! Thank you, Maggy! I've been keeping a jar in the sink for 2 days . I was washing the dishes but left the jar asside. I boiled it, "sponged" it but no succes. And today I did it thanks to your video. 😊😊
YESSSSSS!!!!! Just what I like to hear!! Woohoo!!
Maria Dumitru ,
Absolutely works!! Let the mixture Stand on jar for 10 minutes. It all comes off clean!!! Easy peasy.THX!!!
Ive tried one million stuff and was about to give up but found your video. Works wonders! THANKS!
yay
Red Ted Art Please !!!!!! Quel est l,ingrédient que vous utilisez après l,huile ? Est ce du bicarbonate ou du sel ? Merci de votre réponse......
Thanks, it works and it’s much cheaper than WD 40. Jan
Or citric oil.
Thank you for such an useful method to remove a sticky label from a jar. I did it and it's so smooth and shine. God bless you❤❤🙏🙏👍👍
Your readers have already mentioned rubbing alcohol and Goo Gone, both work very well too. Also before the actual label is removed, fill the jar with boiling water, put lid on to prevent burns, leave it for about 30 seconds and peel the label off slowly, usually the glue comes along with the label. This works well for pill bottles as well if you want to reuse them. On occasion the glue does not come off totally and you can use the rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone to finish the job !
Cool

I use a heat gun to warm the labels of the pill bottles so that I can reuse them for storing LEDs and other small electronic components. It's pretty quick, but you need to be careful since it can get warm enough to melt the plastic. It's going to depend upon what sort of glue was used on the label for jar though. Some will come off with heat, but others might require mechanical action. Often on glass jars, I just put the label under running water and shave / scrape off the paper with a knife. If there is anything left afterwards, I might use a dash of paint thinner or turpentine on a paper towel to clean it up.
@@raygarcia5759 -- You have to be careful using a heat gun on a car though since if you are not careful, you can burn the paint. You shouldn't need much heat to remove most of the dealership stickers / emblems though. I bought a new car a few months ago and I didn't even need to use a heat gun to remove the dealership emblem since it had not been on the car for very long.
@@raygarcia5759 -- Sometimes you need to point these things out because there are people out there that who will come by later and figure that if 30 seconds of heat with heat gun is good, then 15 minutes with it is even better.
I was skeptical that this would work, I’ve tried many. This worked perfect!
I just tried this method and it worked. During that 10-min wait, I decided to try using just Crisco on one bottle, and Crisco with baking soda on another bottle. Crisco by itself worked as well but better with the baking soda. It looks to me the combination of baking soda and some kind of fat will do. Thank you for sharing this video.
Oh I love that you experimented!! So cool!!
I think another reply mentioned why the baking soda is useful. It keeps the oil on the container instead of having it run off the sides.
I actually doubted that this would work. I was wrong it worked brilliantly, thanks for the tip,😁
I love to drink water from wine bottles that I could maintain cold in the refrigerator and also to avoid plastic containers. Your trick is the only that works for me and my bottles. Thank you very much.
Oh cool
Thanks for the wonderful idea without any background music. I appreciate cooking and tutorials videos without music and focusing on the real thing. Keep it up ! I was searching for this craft.
I used olive oil as this what I had and it also worked a treat and I've done several favourite bottles and jars. I also like the fact is good for the environment, no harsh nasty chemicals. Keep up the good work.
Perfect!!

Wow! Tried it on a glass bottle, and it worked like magic! Thank you so much for sharing the tip.
LOVE your cheery attitude and your clever visuals (finger-counting etc.). Besides which, this worked great.
Aww thanks!!
After peeling off the labels I use Dawn Power Wash to remove the sticky residue. Just spray it on the bottle, wait a minute and use a sponge to rub it off. Works like a charm for me.
Thanks so much. It really worked on a jar I’d put through the dishwasher about 4 times, lol. Removed all the glue beautifully! 👍🏻👍🏻
Oh. my. God. This video absolutely changed my life. Thank you so SO much for the tip! I just used it and it worked!!! I told all my family and they will also use your trick. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! ❤
It works wonder , as soon as I saw your vdo I rushed into the kitchen n did as u told , only thing I dint wait for 10 min I immediately brushed the tin as I was being impatient n it worked like a miracle.
Thanks it helped me alot.

Baking soda: saving lives since I was born
LOL yes! It is amazing
I did it and IT WORKED!!! Thank you very much, a HAPPY viewer from Bronx, NY
THANK YOU! I tried this and it worked! I'm so glad I was able to use what I already had and not have to buy a specialty product that I will rarely use anyway.
So pleased!

Just spray it with Goo Gone-takes a sec!
I've been searching for tips on the web today because I've accumulated a collection of about a dozen Sainsbury's spice jars and now want to strip the labels off. I've just had a go at one of them. Took the best part of 15 mins to get the label and all its fragments off by scraping with a sharp knife. The sticky residue left behind I got off in less than 2 mins, simply by wetting the surface, sprinkling ordinary flour on it, then scrubbing with wire wool. Finally scrub again while running hot water over it. Easy. But with a dozen jars to get through it's gonna take me all day. The difficult part for me is not the sticky stuff left behind after the label has gone, it's getting the label off in the first place. That's what I'm looking for tips on.
Thanks for helping me remove the sticky stuff off of a jar, wanted this done months ago. Brilliant!
My pleasuure
I tried it today ..worked perfectly...Thank you for this simple trick🤗
Most welcome 😊
Thank you for this! i was trying to find a way to do this chemical free. 😊
YES!!
Thank you so much for this! I hate sticky jars. This tip took the sticky stuff right off! I will forever use this tip and will recommend it to everyone.
OMG 😮 😮😮😮😮😮
I tried this .. and it works veryyyyyyyyyy well !!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing 💙💙
Thanx
My pleasure!
Perfect!! I'm so happy I didn't dispose of the jars because they are really nice but tried as I may I couldn't get the sticky film off until now. Thank you so much.
God damn it. It really worked. I was 90% sure this won't work, but.. it did. BRAVO INTERNET. BRAVOOOOO
Yay
I did this on my glass part on my smoker and IT WORKED! My husband is impressed. Thank you thank you...
I use old jars for crafts and the sticker always was hard but I tried this and it works well
YAY!!!!

So happy! Yay
what a wonderful idea!!! I just tried it and it worked.....its perfect!!
Hooray!
Thank you for this. Really needed it tonight.
Bicarbonate of Soda if you are watching in the UK.
thank you
Yes, the lady warns not to use Baking Powder.
Catseyes QQ - sodium Bicarbonate in the REAL WORLD-USA. or NaHCO3
Arm and Hammer powder lol
We are filling jars with salt and chalk - 30 needed, this is a life saver! Thank you.
your personality made me smile..... and sub! thank you for the great tip!
Awww welcome to the channel!
@@redtedart thank you! :)
Thanks for bring up this topic.
Some labels have a plastic film coat, so this will have to be peeled off first.
Using cooking oil is a safe good choice.
Stickers on frying pans and utensils must be done this way before use to avoid permanent damage.
I use commercial turpentine to finish off the job only on glass!
The nice jar attracted my attention and I wish they'd make longer lasting lid designs!
So pleased you like it!
Try using heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the sticker and then just peel it off. It will work so much easier.
Heat gun didn't work for me :(
sounds useful, I will try later. thx..
I've tried heat gun and dryer and didn't work for me. I'm going to try this I have my dollar store acrylics that took forever and baby jars for crafts
@@desertcat3 try wd-40. It works great just smelly but easier to clean up than this baking soda mess. This didn't even work for me.
Blow dryer works quite well for me sometimes and other times it doesnt. I have a heat gun but don't think it requires that much heat and don't want to damage the item either. Or make glass too hot.
I didn't have baking soda but tried baking powder instead and it still worked. Thank you for a simple short video.
Thankyou so much... it even worked on tin container.
So pleased
Wonderful...thanks for sharing .
😍😍😍
You have literally saved Christmas!🎄🌟✨
Ok ok maybe a slight exaggeration but seriously my Christmas deco this year is recycled jars and bottles - all glass and all COVERED in stupid sticky gluey labels.
Thank you so much for this brilliant video 🎉😊❤🏴
I've been using Goo-Gone, but I plan on trying this. Thanks for your info.
So pleased you like the video!
Thank you for this video💕😇. It's worth watching because I tried this earlier and it's really effective and less hassle.
Great! Been trying to scrape it off with a blunt knife for about an hour and gave up.
Shame RUclips reccomends 'Johnny Johnny Yes Papa' and other brain degrading rubbish instead of this light hearted channel, but oh well. Also wanted to say thanks for replying to lots of comments despite the video being 2 years old now because there aren't many content creators that seem to care any more
Oh my pleasure! And so pleased you found the channel! I do try my best!!! 😍💕
You have the loveliest voice. Like a cup of warm cocoa by the fire.
Good idea! Thanks as it's so hard to remove.
Glad to be of help
Thank you!!! This video was perfect! I will try it now and see if it works for me.
I love this simple hack. On a side note I am the 444 viewers... This is the First time that I viewed something at a point where ALL the numbers are the same.
:-)
Thanks for the tip! And your apparent British accent is beautiful!👏🏻
very nice and interesting! Thank you for your great job =)
Really I love it. Thanks for Sharing this valuable vedio.. Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Worked brilliantly. Great idea if you want to use your jars for food storage.
So pleased to hear it!
Your baking soda and oil mixture works very well! I made the process much faster by using a single edge razor blade to get things off. Please be careful and keep your fingers, hands, etc. out of the way in case the razor blade slips off the glass.
Oh cool
this is so amazing, i just tried it. thank you!
thank you!
Tried this today, and it worked! Thank you!
It's work like magic....❤
YAY!
Thank you so much , I was trying to remove stickiness from the back of my phone because I had a sticker for 3 months ,I thought I will never get it back to how it was when I removed the sticker. I don’t even have a nail polish remover like how the other videos are recommending but I loved your idea, now the back of my phone is clean thank you so much!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much for this!
Such a life saver and works wonders😊
Bless you!
Thank you 😍
THIS WORKS SO WELL!! I did have to scrub a very very tiny bit but after that it was PERFECT! Thanks a lot!
Thank you!!!
Thanks for sharing. Needed this info today.
I'm totally amazed😮 that it would work so well😇 I never thought thank you❤️
You’re welcome 😊
Any solvent, like terpentine or lacquer thinner does it immediately.
@A Girl Has No Name Common sense don't breath it in.
Yes!
it works !!! been looking this for so long . thank you so much... warm regards from 🇲🇨🇲🇨
I spray it with WD-40 and leave it on for 1 hour and use paper towels to scrub
the sticker off and wash it with dish deterrent.
ooh good idea
I find it WD-40 stinks, as in the smell.
Hillary for President
Does it leave a greasy residue on wood or plastic?
I use WD40. It seems to work faster than that for me. I don't mind the smell since it works so well.
WD is oily, smelly, and difficult to wash off anything, especially your hands. The smell will remain on your hands for a long time. Use acetone instead. Pour acetone on a rag and wipe off the sticky glue from the labels. A stone evaporates quickly so pour a lot on the rag before using. Acetone is easier to wash off your hands.
Great tip!
What I do for an easier and faster technique is use isopropyl alcohol and baking soda. Mix them both with applying an equal amount. Along using a rag it works like magic. ✨✨
Thank you so much. I have 6 containers soaking in warm water as I write. I came across this post by happenstance.
Hope it helps!
Yes. It worked perfectly! 👍
I tried it and it worked. I made the paste thick empugh so that it would cling and not run and left it for 20 minutes. But a sponge did not clean it alone, i had to break out some steel wool, then it came right off. Very easy method!
This works so well! Great tip.
my pleasure!
This was the best hack ever.... Whoever is trying to remove this sticker glue..... I recommend this hack.... Just tried it......worked absolutely brilliant..... I tried so many ways to take the sticker out.... But this is a life saver... Great video❤️
Great timing as I am thinking Christmas gifts!
+Joy Jackson yesssss!
Oh, that's wonderful, Can I have an empty jar for Christmas too. cheap ass old hag...
are you Santa?
WOW!!!!!! ITS WORK . THANKS FOR THE TIPS ✅👌
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍
Great thanks
So happy! YAY!
It worked superbly 😊
Thank you for the useful tip...
Nail polish remover also works
I tried alcohol, nail polish remover, hot water...nothing worked. Tried this and it was like magic!!! Great advise, thanks so much!!!! Now I can enjoy my beautiful glass jar!
Rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol. Only takes a minute. Kerosene or charcoal fluid also work well
I use 91 percent rubbing alcohol
I never hear about this before I tried it and it works, thanks very much, be safe everybody, sure I will check out your craft
thanks for this tp i have a few jars that i need to clean
my pleasure
You're a life saver! I reused a bottle I have at home today and refill it with new stuff! Thanks kindly!
You can also use nail polish remover it works for me :)
ooh great tip
Tear: Absolutely! :)
Nail polish is mostly acetone. You should not let it soak into your skin. Wear protective gloves that do not react with acetone.
I might try that too, some jars are too nice to throw out
I just tried it using the nail polish remover and it worked immediately.
LIFESAVER! Woah this really works, it literally takes 10-15 minutes :) thanks for sharing!!
Spray it with WD40 and it will come right off too.
Thank you!!
But then we will need to watch another video about how to get rid of bad smells on the jars.
That works for me sometimes, not always for some reason.
