- My arrangement of Nighttime from Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. Molly Mahoney (Natalie Portman) plays this piece several times throughout the movie. I put most of it together by myself, but got some help from the music I bought from musicnotes.com. Excuse the quality, it's all I had to work with today. Enjoy! :)
When King Lear dies in Act V, do you know what Shakespeare has written? He's written "He dies." That's all, nothing more. No fanfare, no metaphor, no brilliant final words. The culmination of the most influential work of dramatic literature is "He dies." It takes Shakespeare, a genius, to come up with "He dies." And yet every time I read those two words, I find myself overwhelmed with dysphoria. And I know it's only natural to be sad, but not because of the words "He dies." but because of the life we saw prior to the words.
~Mr. Edward Magorium
I’ve lived all five of my acts, Mahoney, and I am not asking you to be happy that I must go. I’m only asking that you turn the page, continue reading… and let the next story begin. And if anyone asks what became of me, you relate my life in all its wonder, and end it with a simple and modest, "He died."
~Mr. Edward Magorium
I really love those quotes.
I think you've all just killed me with feelings
First of all, how dare you.
+Rammus The Armordillo First of all, how dare you. Second of all, how *DARE* you.
+Cosmic Wolfehz (Nikhila Courage) You broke me into a puddle a feels.
the feeling is of childhood and hope, I can't explain
After watching the movie many times and listening to this song many times and learning to play it on a piano I still get goosebumps listening to this song :)
And it's been like that for years and years and years
Probably the most underrated family film on this planet. For year and years I’ve kept this film in my heart. There is something about it that is so unforgettable. I really think this movie is the perfect way you can explain death to a child without frightening them at all. Still to this day the scene where Mr Magorium says his final words to Molly Mahoney gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. It has an absolutely beautiful somber, and well put together message that we all become adults but you shouldn’t leave you’re childhood all behind, you take some of it with you. In other words,
“You’re Life Is An Occasion, Rise To It.”

I've become obsessed with listening to the soundtrack, The beautiful, wonderful score with that iconic tune. It was one of the first biggest themes I learned to play it on the piano now I’ve come so far with my piano skills, the main melody in this movie was one of my father and grandfathers favorite songs that I could play on the piano. You have Dustin Hoffman, Natalie Portman, Jason Bateman, three iconic actors who I was introduced to from this film. This movie is SO underrated, it's beautiful, meaningful, and unique, the whole film truly is MAGICAL!
In my opinion, this is the most beautiful song I have ever heard
This is so beautiful. I've been searching forever for a video of Molly Mahoney's first and this is the closest one to the song from the movie. Thank u for making this,.this is one of my most favorite piano songs. Can u please make a tutorial or give us the sheet music?

I love the tone of your piano. It's so broad and warm. My piano doesn't sound quite like that but it has it's own character :)

👏👏👏👏
I also liked the short piano segment of "Jennifer Juniper" that Molly/Natalie played...Does anyone know if that is recorded anywhere in full (like a record, CD or DVD)?
Do you find you have a connection with your piano? I mean, in a way where you know it's character and you know how to get the best out of it?
I've been doing a Major Work for my HSC and it's a suite of poems on music. One of them was about the connection I have with my piano (9 years playing) and I found it has a personality and I give it a heart to live. I was wondering if you experience something similar because your piano has a unique and beautiful voice.
How did you learn this I really want to be able to play this on piano
