AMARANTHE - 'Do Or Die' Feat. Angela Gossow (ex Arch Enemy singer )
Amaranthe and Amaranthine refer to the flower of that name, which is thought to never wither. It comes from ancient greek (of course it does) amarantos that means immortal or undying.
The lead signer, Elize Ryd, is Swedish and was considered by Nightwish as a replacement for Tarja but ultimately, they thought she was too young at the time and went for Anette instead.
During Nightwish's Imaginaerum world tour, Elize was touring with Kamelot who was Nightwish's support band. When Anette fell ill and couldn't perform, Elize and her co-singer from Kamelot covered for her for Nightwish's Denver show, a move that ultimately led to Anette's firing after she publicly criticized the band for not cancelling the show (and Floor joining the band).
Elize's co-singer was Alissa White-Gluz, now lead singer for Arch Enemy.

They are dance pop death metal (I think lol). I like their cover of Sabaton's 82nd All the Way better than the original. Their song The Nexus is so catchy you will be singing it fr four days
Genres: Power metal, metalcore, dance-rock, melodic death metal. Not quite Symphonic Metal. They are from Sweden, and the lead vocalist is Elize Ryd (Really nice voice on her imho).

Amaranthe did a song with just Elize called Endlessly.
They are Heavy Metal but standards with Pop infused with Electronics. Olaf Morok is from Dragonland, and on one of their albums they had a teen Elize singing on a few songs. So Olaf made a whole band around Elize and 2 other male singers.
Elize would sing the Poppy parts, while the other Male singer with Clean vocals sings the Rock parts. And the Male singer that growls does the Heavy parts.
Its a great combination and first of its kind, its not like Therion where they use Operatic themes.
She has performed with Floors husband and she also has a new song with the former singer from another Swedish band called Arch Enemy and that song is Do or Die. But if you haven't checked out Arch Enemy then it's a group that also has a female singer, then you have Floors husband's band Sabaton that you can check out
Arch Enemy is still going, fronted currently by the versatile Alissa White-Gluz. AE's former front Angela Gossow is the gold standard for female growling, her live sound is legendary.
'The Day You Died' from the Tyrants of the Rising Sun dvd is a heartfelt piece where Angela flexes in her delivery.
Music video for 'Do or Die' by Amaranthe is Angela's first work in 6 years, she stepped down as vocalist but continued as manager for AE (also manages Amaranthe)
I like Alissa and besides that she looks very good, I like some of the newer songs like "arch enemy reason to believe" and she should have written some songs on the latest records

Amaranthe is from Gothenburg, Sweden. They are known for having three vocalists; one clean female, one harsh male, and one clean male. Their style and sound is a fusion of electronic pop and heavy metal, which works really well in my opinion. This song is from their first self-titled album, released in 2011. During this time, the clean male vocalist was Jake E. Lundberg and the harsh male vocalist was Andreas Solvestrom. They have since left the band and have been replaced by Nils Molin and Henrik Englund Wilhelmsson, respectively. They have a lot of great songs, some lean towards the pop side, while others are more heavy, but many are a great mix of the two genres. The female singer's name is Elize Ryd. There is at least one song where it is only her singing and it is a ballad. For the most part, each song will feature all three vocalists in some capacity. Amaranthe can be both heavy and poppy. Amaranthe are Swedish if you see 82nd All The Way which is a Sabaton cover, Henrik is waving the Swedish flag behind Nils. Amaranthe are getting heavier with each album. I think signing with Nuclear Blast that is where they're heading. If you go to their IG and Facebook there's pics and vids recording their new album. Henrik and Nils arrived there yesterday and had a BBQ lol. Big fan of Amaranthe.

That's why I love being here, always something good and new (at least new for me). I thought too I knew a lot of bands but I was wrong, there are a lot of bands I don't know at all :D Here's always some nice surprise for me. This song is good! That's the majority of their sound yeah. They tend to incorporate a lot of electronic sound in their songs as well
Sound quality isn't the best but just FYI here is Elize Ryd in 2012 with Nightwish. She and Alyssa White-Gluz took the stage with NIghtwish on an hours notice when Anette Olzon was taken to hospital in Denver, USA just before the show was to begin. Also only 15 fckin minutes to preparare, man, dat's scarry. Elize, no doubt, has adamantium (not amaranthium) balls to agree on this crazy stuff. And nightwish are great musicians as well, chek out how they reconstruct Nemo on the fly after Elize messed up with lyrics.
She was one of the singers that replace Anette Olsen in Nightwish before Floor Jansen in live concerts
It was in Nightwish "The Denver Debacles" documentary for the show. And Nightwish "Please Learn the Setlist in 48 Hours" for the whole story how Floor Jansen replaced Anette Olzon temporarily for US Tour in 2012.
Not exactly, she was one of the contenders when they replaced Tarja, not the second time. They picked Anette because Elize was about 20-21 back then and they went with the more experienced Anette. Instead Elize went on creating Amaranthe. She did sing with Nightwish om stage when she (and Alissa from Arch Enemy) was guest artists in Kamelot and Anette got seriously ill during the concert. This was two shows before Floor was called in and later replaced Anette permanently. EDIT: rereading your comment you probably just meant that she was on stage one night. But she actually was close to becoming the lead in Nightwish.
They are experimenting with different styles. Some songs is more pop, others more heavy. And its sounds good!

This song (AMARANTHINE) is one of the reasons we listen to rock & metal music! This group has 3 singers! One always for growlings. The woman singer ELIZE RYD sang as the lead singer (together with Alyssa White-Gluz ) of Nightwish back in 2012 at Ogden Theater in Denver when Anette left for hospital just few hours before the starting of the concert.

I am never sure in what kind of slot to put Amaranthe... are they pop, are they rock, are they metal... All i know is that i like them as a palate cleanser from time to time. Just nice music.
Amaranthe is very commercial. I think all their songs has this same style. This is particularly a power ballad, but they have pretty heavy songs like "Drop Dead Cynical". Normally they sound like power metal with a little bit of death melodic metal, and they are full of electronic elements. They are from Sweden (one of the members is from Denmark, but I don't remember which one). My favorite Amaranthe songs are "The Nexus" and "Digital World" (the videoclip is not so good).
The nexus is my favorite song by them. BTW they are from Sweden.

If you want more female singing/growling with Swedish metal bands i recomend you reacts to Arch Enemy. They are an famous Melodic Death metal band.
Songs like Nemesis, The Eagle Flies Alone and Bloodstained Cross are very good.
For even more swedish metal with female vocals try Crucified Barbara (all female classic heavy metal band), Sister sin (more classic heavy metal), Liv Sin (same singer as the previous band, slightly heavier), Frantic Amber (Melodic death metal).

Now that you have an idea of what some of my favorite singers in metal sound like, you should check out Feliz Navidad by Tarja for Hurricane Relief, it has a cameo by so many people and will give you full body shivers. Plus not a single reactor has done that song so you would be a trailblazer 🤩

Amaranthe is really great, the two male singers changed since that video came out, but they are even better now.
They were touring with Sabaton a few month ago, another band you will probably like (Floor's husband is the drummer Sabaton).

Well this group is much more pop than other groups...
I was lucky to see them live (first part of the Group Powerwolf, you should listen to the music Stossgebet by the way) , but was a bit disappointed by the attitude of the members of the group...
It's a very good group, good music and all, but in my opinion (and friends opinion too), very bad on stage...
Wow, now I am honestly disappointed. Her voice was beautiful, he sang quite well, the song was quite beautiful, and then freaking Satan came in and completely ruined the whole thing. But that is just my opinion. I hope this band also has songs in witch they don’t do the screaming/growling stuff.
