I agree with this. I’ve seen tons of ex police car equipment and radios where cables are cut right up to the device. Pretty much impossible to reuse them.
This specific radio is 800mhz, but I also have a couple in VHF. They do make a UHF version, but I don’t own it. All three versions all have a type N antenna connector.
@@AdventureCruiser thanks, I see now that the band is reflected by the model number. Great looking radios; when new, the list price is incredible. Also, thanks for the videos, it’s great to see new P25 equipment that we don’t have over here.
Who ever removed those radios and cut the wires were actually fairly smart and left you with enough wire to easily put connectors on
@@Jsuttar okay, I’ll accept that they’re not totally dumb, they did leave enough for me to reconnect.

Those connectors look way better than Anderson power poles. Which I think are pretty dang terrible.
Really like the layout etc of these BK radio's so are they DMR or P25 as I don't think you mentioned that in your other video? 73 Steve
@@G7EXZ ah, great question. These are P25/analog
Which band are those radios on, is it UHF and will they cover 440? The N type sockets make me think it might be higher… maybe 800 MHz?
