That’s also what I’ve heard, some of the damage seems to indicate that. Being that official batteries are usually well sealed it might be hard to get into.
@@beaker15tyler39they are really sealed well! I have taken apart many batteries to convert them to cigarette lighter power supplies, allowing one to use the cigarette lighter socket to power the radio in your car. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO POWER THE RADIO WITH STRAIGHT 12 VOLTS! YOU WILL LITERALLY FRY THE WHOLE RADIO!!!! There is a circuit board within the battery eliminator housing that safely reduces the voltage down to 7.8 volts which is the most common voltage used with most portables. As for the seals on the radio, once torqued down I would venture to say that the radio is NOT kept in a vacuum but in a pressurized condition with dry nitrogen. The pressure will vary by the IP rating and as to how long and at what depth the radio is considered to be water resistant. If one was to draw a vacuum within the sealed case it would probably draw in water when immersed in water. Now as for having room within a radio, older radios had space for adding accessories to the radio. Yaesu for on has a small space under the battery compartment where one could add an optional board to display air pressure and altitude. Enough room for a few grams of PETN or C4 with a micro detonator. These detonators have been developed by numerous government agencies and are too sophisticated for the average individual to produce. Fact is with our modern day reliance on electronic gadgets anything with spare room in it is capable of being a weapon in the wrong hands or even the right hands depending on which side of the table one is from. Many Thanks for the tear down info. As a FCC licensed tech it’s always nice to see how certain models of handhelds are constructed. I have worked with many of Motorolas legacy models in the past (from the 80’s through the early 2000’s) and all I can say is that the modularity of these radios makes the easy to repair in the field, just hope the parts are still available otherwise one has a brick in their hands and schematics and parts lists are no longer published for the subassemblies. One also needs specialized equipment to work on these parts which have reached microscopic size.
I'm pretty sure that unless you put ahmad jamal abu humachawala musseini shukarunaba balooch muhammad mamman balaat in the shipping address, you have nothing to worry about
Nice video. When I ordered my radio a few months ago the channel knob was NOT tested, so I sent it back. Nice to know these things.
They created shell companies that actually made those devices from scratch, made them looking exactly like the originals...
From what I understand the explosive and charge would be in the battery

The 8000 is an "AN" model, however it is the same generation as the 6000BN.
Yup, sorry I wasn’t more clear on that.
@AdventureCruiser Np, great video otherwise
Also the icom IC-V82 was used, not your Moto apx6000... You're just trying to profit from someone else's misfortune

Would you mind doing some more videos on the Harris XL-200? I regret selling mine and I need more convincing to buy it again 😁
@@christianperi I sold mine too… sorry!
@@AdventureCruiser Darn it! Okay thanks
its a CMOS battery basically. Just remembers the data when off power
Yes, so names of Israeli operatives won't get erased over time.
The explosives were in the battery, so this disassembly and inspection would not help
I’ve always thought icom is the bomb.
@@michaelt.9372 finally! Somebody with a sense of humor! Thanks, I agree … figuratively of course.

All right, all you radio heads really need to quit with this shit.
They already stated that it was multiple makes of devices planted with explosives.
is HDR necessary for a video like this?
What a nonsense video
