I lived out of a backpack for three years. Not even a car for shelter. I will say that when you have acclimated to absolute rock bottom and and thrive with what you can carry on your back, You truly do feel invincible. Nothing can get to you. You can't be worried about living paycheck to paycheck. You can't be worried about car payments or gas. You can't be worried about suddenly losing everything. Everything that you earn, you keep. There are no other barriers or distractions in the way of you and your goals. It's just you maximizing your money, while minimizing your dependence on it.
Crazy bro, how u did it?
ONLY WAY IS UP
Well put maximizing use of money while minimizing dependence on it that's great and a great way to describe the lifestyle
Well said 😊
Hits mmmth pipe having great convos awesome ideas while never doing anything 😆
I feel like everyone feels so sad and worried for us because we're going to be living in our car, but we're excited to save money and be free from this rat race
Bro doesn't pay a barber, he cuts his own hair, he doesn't pay bills he lives in a car and has access to a gym and bathroom 24/7 for very cheap. Sounds pretty practical to me.
I want to do it so bad

Overnight parking, means leaving your car unoccupied. They can’t tow a vehicle with someone in it. They can’t trespass you without cause. Never say your sleeping or living. Say you are waiting on DoorDash orders or taking a break and going back to work
ill be living in my car in a few months and will be looking forward to it honestly. more money in the bank will always make me happier then a big apartment with air conditionig.

I am a 55 yr old swf. Just started car life a few months ago...tx for sharing😊
I agree that this life style is not ment for everyone. Staying positive everyday is the key!

Window covers are VERY easy to make, more effective if done right, and cost a fraction of store bought. You can make them at a park with a table. Look up reflectix window covers tutorials. One tip though, you do NOT need to try to make a template. Just mush the reflectix material up into the very edges and use a sharpie to trace, then cut about an inch or a little less extra around your tracing. Walmart sells black fleece in the craft department with their pre-cut fabric. Glue that to your reflectix so you have a shiny side and a stealth side. 3M spray adhesive. Leave a little excess around the edges. When you put those in on the stealth side, it just looks like a black void. No shine, no gaps, looks like pretty much nothing from even a short distance.

Indeed. Mental comes before all. I Respect your mindset Jordan
I want to live in a car for a certain amount of months one day. You really inspired me to get off my comfort zone. I think this a really great thing to experience. I also always wanted to travel around the world on my own terms. Way to stay courage’s Jordan.
Correction! It's houseless not homeless when you choose too
Currently saving to do this. I’ve still got a year till I feel I have enough. I can’t wait. I’m no longer playing the rent game. I want ALL of my money! Glad you’re putting this advice out. I’ll take it! 💪🏼
In 2024 I have to move from my residence they won't renew lease so I Definitely will have to do it for a few months .. im on disability due to am incident and living in NYC I'd just too much .. so I have a jeep patriot. So I'm Definitely going to probably have to fi it for a few months .. I know a few locations where I can sleep I peace Just for a few months..
This video is packed full of nomadic life wisdom. Thanks.
Jordan you should try more traveling while in your car. Like explore the mountains or nature. I feel like the most popular nomad RUclipsrs really focus on traveling
I am in my early 70s. I have a Hyundai hatch back. I am a very positive person and looking forward to hitting the road in a couple of months. I have been able to get an inflatable mattress in it. My car will be my bedroom. I will be staying overnight in caravan parks for security.
Bro didn’t even take his seat belt off the whole video, he serious about the life style
I just started this lifestyle in January. Inspired by you doing it as well
THAT MENTAL IS IMPORTANT 🤍🍓
Bro jordan... i get your tryna make a big statement with this kind of lifestlye your living, but I geniunely hope your ok out there and not tryna fake your happiness or smiles. Cause bro somewhere as restless as LA its hard to manage honestly epspecially if your not rich or finacially privliged. Im just saying i hope your safe and sound and please look to get a afforable place soon...enough said stay safe 💪💯
I'm so sorry your going through this bro but I feel you I would rather be homeless than to kiss somebody's a.. to stay with them. Good luck Jordan you are officially a real one

Do not get a UPS mailbox without a USPS mailbox. You can use storage unit address that you store items etc… you can’t do a change of address or forward mail with a UPS mailbox. When you get both, do so in a small rural town. Much cheaper
Those window covers, very essential for when you're doing things 👀🤣😂
If I was single without children, I would perhaps try this. You sound very smart. And you have a great smile with lovely teeth!
Im 40 seconds in and I love you already. Working on the mindset thing as I prepare for this journey. Homeless/houseless is such a negative way to view it but by societal standards that’s exactly what’s happening. Thank you for sharing your experience
I was forced into it. But I flipped it around and now I can't see myself going back to paint run again. I turn my 2003 Toyota Corolla into a camper and it's kind of cool. Thanks again
My top 3 are gym membership, cell plan with plenty of data and dark window tinting
I agree, an RV will not work in a city, but a box truck could work in a city. It will look like any other delivery vehicle. It will be harder to find a parking space though.
Im so glad you are in the same boat as me. Im dojng the same until February (not by choice) but i been watching your videos since 2020! Its nice to see someone whose actually like me who is doing this.
Spot on re. the positive mentality for sure.
Not homeless but a free will choice to not be a part of the real "system" and be FREE.
MOST people are Steeple and not the intelligence to live, they exist.

I am just about to do the same thing so it is very helpful to see this.👌

Where would u recommend parking at night to sleep
@@casillasangel I slept mostly in Walmart parking lots. I preferred a particular Walmart because so many people lived there. We were in the back of the lot. I do Walmart Spark and see some of those same cars still. I felt safe. The cop came every night at 11. Stayed about 5 minutes and left.

9:20 you don't reallt need it if its just for phones and laptop, what i do is hang out at cafes, do work charge everything too 100% and when im in my car, and my phone is halfway dead, i hook it up to my laptop to charge. The laptop is useless outside of buildings due to no wifi so i use it has a power source for my iphone. I only say get a power source if your cooking stuff
If your happy and not hurting anyone then thrive with your living arrangements. If your healthy and can live as a minamilist successfully then you have less to worry about. You seem to have figured out how to make it work.

I cut out those silver ones and spray painted them black. Black is key! Unless you're right up in it you can't even tell theres something covering the windows.
How do you prevent the windows from fogging when you sleep?
Open the window a little
Good stuff. I agree with all this. Keep up the good info.
Also if you want to shower you can use a truck stop gas station like Loves to buy a shower.

Thank you for doing this video! This information was very helpful.
Great advice, especially with the first part about positive mentality. I used psilocybin mushrooms to complete obliterate my depression. Highly recommended trying them if anyone is having trouble with pharmaceuticals, but definitely do some research first.
I'm fortune enough to have access to a restaurant, fitness center, washrooms and showers at work, but I'm on day 211 of sleeping in my car to avoid paying rent. All the $$ I save goes into high yield investments with the goal of one day being capable of buying a house and other things in cash.

Hey guys i recently lost my job and am currently struggling about to lose my apt. I'm going to have to live in my car for a few months and taking this opportunity to move out of my current little town into a bigger city for more/better job opportunities all im concerned about is the heat, how do you sleep when its hot outside? I can deal with the cold with a -0 sleeping bag but the heat i ordered a USB fan and a portable power bank from amazon but not sure if thats going to be enough im moving to Oregon and I have a little hatchback car thank you!
Bro if you say lotion or some type of lubricant
For those that missed the most important points of the video. Here they are. You're welcome.
"You can even get hot water. If that's your thing."
"Just get a job at Target, work two hours and quit. Do that every month."
"You wont be bothered at all. Except by security."
"Get a jackery. It doesn't even need to be a Jackery. Unless they sponsor my videos."
Manager “How long did you work at Target?”
I worked for 2 hours….
Manager “I’m sorry to say the job is already taken. Bye 👋🏻 🤣

How about do an intro for your channel? I think it would do a lot for your growth.
This is the 5th or 6th video of him making this same video bro lost all passion for RUclips he don’t even put any effort into this anymore
Literally in the middle of California go outside meet new people so many videos ideas but broski too busy doing nothing in his whip all day likes what’s the point of this whole lifestyle
@@sdmdark1811 Agreed, Jordan needs to adapt, he keeps remaking the same videos, there's so many cool things to do in California, yet he chooses to focus on the car life stuff. There was no point in going to California specifically if he was going to make those videos, he could have stayed in Texas. Jordan will never take off again unless he evolves and adapts.
He would if he could, you guys have to know he’s saving up
He's busting nuts in his car all day
You have a CX5? Me too!! I’m so glad I found you!
I tried to give this the benefit of the doubt. But Jordan, I think you need to move back in with your parents. It's one thing to have no choice but to live in your car. It's another to do it voluntarily and advocate for others to do so.
Having to constantly watch out for the police, eating peanut butter sandwiches and canned food, and sleeping in the elements (cars have terrible insulation) when you don't have to is foolish. Before you give advice to others make sure your house is in order.
He clearly said in the beginning of the video, which is understood in every video you may watch on RUclips, that this alternative lifestyle is NOT for everybody. So he must have been talking about you. He is clearly doing well, so if that bothers you, then the problem doesn't lie with with him pumpkin 🤔😉🫡
@@oljerseysoul8724 I’m not mad. I’m just calling out bad advice. Living in a car isn’t something that’s not for everyone. Generally speaking it’s not a good idea for the vast majority of people. Cars have bad insulation. People don’t take kindly to camping so you have to constantly look over your shoulder. You don’t have a bathroom or a shower on hand. It’s just not a good idea “pumpkin”.
Ultimately Jordan is not doing this wholly voluntarily. If he hadn’t made some bad financial decisions, he’d be sitting nice and tidy in an apt. I like Jordan but I generally believe that one should have their stuff together before they start giving advice to others. That’s clearly not the case for him
Bruh obviously him and nobody else here has that mindset… it’s only bad advice to you because you have been conditioned to think that having less is bad. Like he said bro, he escaped the matrix. What that means for him, you cannot know. And that’s ok. Plus you do realize that living in your car is still luxury compared to the rest of the world in complete poverty. See, it is a mindset.
@@alexmora8841 Lmao. He moved back home. Clearly he himself recognizes that this isn’t a great lifestyle.
@@alexmora8841 Also most of the world isn’t in complete poverty. You make it seem like anyone living outside of the US is living like starving Marvin. Completely ignorant statement lol. Most people at least have a roof over their head. They’re not camping in a car alternately freezing or boiling and watching for cops.
On a serious note, if someone is in a situation where that’s the only choice they have, then best wishes to them. However if someone who does not have to do that does it and then advocates for it, he’s making an actual mockery of people in that situation. Which is what Jordan did. He milked views by living in a car for less than a month and then went back to his parents house.
Wtf wants to live in a car tho?
Must have big bucks. A mortgage is far cheaper than car payments, car repairs, gas and auto insurance.
For me its more convenient to do this life style doing seasonal work out of state night shift. Instead of doing that driving back and forth between shifts not to mention cost of gas. Spending that same money on Airbnb or hotels just to sleep between shifts is also kind of impractical.
If you need cash to pay for your PF membership..do uber or doordash or shipt where you can work anywhere at anytime or not work for a while and pick back up. Dont go through the whole process for Target and work 2 days and quit and burn your bridges if one day you really need a parttime consistent job.
Exactly what i am doing. Doing what i have too do. Planet fitness is a great thing.
I’m in a Mazda 3 too a sedan though lol

I wanna do this someday...whenn i can get myself a car
It's a given that you have to be creative to live in a car and save on rent. On the other side of the coin, a car is a luxury! Living without a car and using other means of transportation lowers expenses. If you can makeshift a bed in a car, be creative in an apartment. Live frugally. Don't' shop to impress. Be a minimalist under a roof with a door and a key and a bathroom with a sink. Think necessities before luxuries so that you can live in society. You can still keep everything you own in a backpack if that makes you happy.
I don't care what nobody say bro is a genius
