    If you make a closed kan does that count as a concealed tripled for San Ankou? I'd assume it does but can't be too sure.

    @8:00 you say you automatically get 2 ura dora because everything in your hand is a pair. Why? Is that just a rule?

    • @LightGrunty
      @LightGrunty  4 года назад +3

      I said that if you get ura dora, it would be 2 because of the nature of the hand, not that you always automatically get 2 ura dora.

      think about it. if you get an ura dora it's automatically two of them, since you have pairs. So if the ura dora is a 4-pin, you get two since you have two 5-pin.

    Winning a chiitoitsu hand awards you 25 fu, but if you declared Riichi and Ron, do you get another 10 fu added to the 25 fu awarded for chiitoitsu?

    • @LightGrunty
      @LightGrunty  Год назад +1

      No, chiitoitsu is always scored as 25 fu and does not gain fu from any other source.

    • @Kamoleplace
      @Kamoleplace Год назад

      @@LightGrunty So, if perhaps five pairs are red, white and green dragon and pairs of prevailing and seat wind, the fu is still 25?

    • @LightGrunty
      @LightGrunty  Год назад

      @@Kamoleplace That's correct. Chiitoitsu is always scored as 25 fu.

    So, can you win with a chiitoitsu?

    • @LightGrunty
      @LightGrunty  6 лет назад +1

      Of course. If you're tenpai for chiitoitsu, then the wait will necessarily be a tanki wait, so you would just be waiting to complete your seventh pair. Naturally, this type of wait isn't as strong as other types of waits, but you could always choose a tile that you think the opponents will discard easily.

      Light Grunty So about how many winning hands are irregular like this one? Like not the normal shaped hand.

    • @LightGrunty
      @LightGrunty  6 лет назад +1

      Just two. The second one is kokushi musou, which is a yakuman. It's covered later in the series.
