i also have the DVD installer came with the laptop but the macbook cannot recognize the DVD

Can you boot into your MAC? When was it purchased and what model?
It should definately come up unless you have some problem with your hard drive?

Backup your data, go into disc utility and run a repair on your drive.

my disc dosent pop up and if i boot from it it takes me to the login screen? any idea
yes but when i hold the alt button the cd dosent appear
My display only shows a folder with a question mark
how long did it take to get to the options to run disk utility from the apple boot?
Depends on the speed of the Mac.

I only get the apple logo on my macbook mid 2010, it seems that its loading but its not, 8hrs have to be anough to boot up right???

I have an earIy Imac 2009 and i downloaded Sierra is not compatible with it,now sierra is preventing me from restoring my mac.I did a new install and sierra show up in OS X utilities..how can i delete sierra or how can i get my mac to work again.....:(
Hi Zouklv Franciase, Do a back up via time Machine and I would suggest you install OS X mavericks as the latest OS X for you Mac.
Can we install latest os from dvd on an unsupported macbook like this pls ans.....

How do I do this if I can't find my hard drive? I boot it up with the option key, and the only thing that shows up is my dvd, not my hard drive.
My dvd keeps spitting out when trying to recover
scratched maybe?
If I replace my hard drive is this how I reinstall the operating system to the hard drive.

Finally got an install cd to install i had to run first aid on drive then format it them restart the pc to boot from cd. First time messing with thr mac

i hate apple i use windows i fix computers a lot of rich dumb people live in my city so they asking for apple fixes now im learn this stuff its very simple but annoying i have to learn all the commands and so on for a piece of expensive junk
