Paint the dining room the same color as the kitchen. Making the space cohesive and feel more expansive. Put the hanging light over the dining room table and put ceiling lights in the kitchen. It would make it light and bright for cooking and a little more moody for mealtime 😊
Agree one hundred 💯 percent with what you say!
Please put that beautiful **hanging light fixture** over the dining room table and use reset lighting everywhere else! 😊 Everything is looking great! You guys are fabulous!
I think the hanging light fixtures will look better over the dining table as well 😊
I agree. That beautiful light fixture should be over the dining table. You want the kitchen lighting brighter so you can see what your doing (don't want to burn anything or cut yourself with a knife). Put on a dimmer switch so you can adjust the brightness
Perhaps over the table make a matching ‘chandelier’ to the one in the kitchen, even in white wood, but black lights, if you like. You need some consistency since it is all open. What about some hidden up-lighting on the ‘ledge’ in the dining room?
@@MamaLuceroCreations Yes! Exactly! Brighter light over the sink and stove so you can see what you are doing. When you have a hanging light in the middle of the kitchen it causes your shadow to cover what you are trying to see.
My vote is to use the same paint color you used in the kitchen. It will make the space feel bigger and trick the eye into thinking you have a bigger kitchen than you do. later you can add art work /decor that suits your style and that you can change over the years.
The back wall could either be the wood or the kitchen color with the accent wall painted either the fridge color or… if you can find a fabric print like IKEA or Merimiko, but in Panamanian style, wrap it! Use spray or roll on adhesive, and perhaps a coat of matte or satin clear polyurethane over it (just for that one wall). Rod, do you know a local mural artist? That would be a nice alternative if you can’t find the material or it’s too expensive.
Agreed! They even have the skills to weld some cool art like some swirls or flying birds or something!
I think the dining wall should be the same color as the kitchen. It’ll make the space look larger, brighter and more cohesive.
I keep wanting to express how much I love what Freddie added to this whole adventure and channel, but without saying that Rodrigo was not “enough.” I loved the channel before, and now I love it even more 😁❤️.
Right? Same with me. Rodrigo is great. Freddie just really compliments him and adds extra great energy. 😊
My vote is the color of the kitchen with some artwork the color of the refrigerator. Your home is looking so beautiful!
Thats how you wake up your Queen Rodrigo, great job dude. Freddie very happy and appreciated the breakfast. Loved this. Good job guys.
Almsot 3k people viewed this video and only 709 likes. Something is wrong. These videos are great.
Light colors are always best for making a smaller area look larger. Glad Roger is being so helpful. Love him .
Thanks for letting us be a part of your unfolding cozy home! I tend to agree with one or more of the comments here... consider turning your refrigerator toward the kitchen. Create a partial wall/partition behind it. Your dining room area and accent walls can then have a separate room feel... rather than feeling compelled to 'match' the color of your fridge. That would open up a whole palate of colors to choose from. Consider making those two walls pop! Someone suggested burnt orange...which sounded wonderful. Walls covered with interesting art work from Panamanian artists would fold in the wonderful culture there. Just a few thoughts! Your home is unfolding beautifully....
I would build cabinets/storage along the wall next to the fridge (if there’s room). Lighting .. I’ve always been a fan of a hanging pendant light over a dining table. And I love the idea of brightening that wall with a colour ❤️
Accent wall the color of the fridge? I would turn the fridge to face the kitchen and extend the wall behind it, so you don't have to look at the back of the fridge.
My thoughts exactly!
Yes 🎉🎉🎉
Even a short partial wall/partition. Allowing the dining area to be a separate space but still open to the kitchen area.
I like the idea of turning fridge to face kitchen but do not add a wall. I also like the idea of an accent wall same color as fridge but rest of walls same as kitchen color.
I love the ceiling! It makes your house feel cleaner and brighter and less busy. 💗 it looks more finished. Personally, I would make that wall white that divides your two areas. Your place is already very angular and chopped up and I think the simpler you can tie it all together the less confusing or busy it will be. more feng shui. I would paint it white and put a beautiful painting on it. Have the painting have a little bit of your refrigerator color to blend it together. You could also build a bench and have that same color cushion made, and chairs put on the other side of the table. It’s a real space saver and it would be cozy like a booth on one side .That corner is very dark.
You can eat baby leaf spinach, so that size is good! ❤️🇬🇧
It looks great! I wish you would finish the tile floor completely before moving onto something else. I think it will make a huge difference in the look of the first floor. Love your videos. Love your personalities too. I think the lights are called recessed lighting. Both of you are doing a fantastic job and your home is beginning to look beautiful.
A stone or brick accent wall would be beautiful. If you cannot get those supplies, then keep the colour light, or maybe a continuation of the kitchen colour. Because it's an open concept living space you don't want to add yet another colour. Those ceiling lights are recessed pot lights.
For the love of God, Build an outdoor work shop. This way you can build in the rain.add on to your little storage shed. Bro you got this !!!!!!!!
Or just add a roof in gazebo
I would make that accent wall match your fridge. Or close to. Blue/green on one wall and white on the back wall or grey to blend in with your kitchen. The lights in the ceiling are called cam lights. The garden veggies are growing lovely! Spinish can be in a salad too like lettuce. The beans are perfect! You can harvest the oregano dry it in the oven and store it in a jar for topping on Italian dishes. Well done both of you!!! 🥰
Take the wall down and have the suport beam in the middle of a big dining table so its all open plan
It is all looking so beautiful. Rodrigo you have learned so much. Having Freddie to share your home and her ideas is just wonderful. She is a beautiful person inside and out. You to are such a great match. You both bring out good things in each other. Love the jungle couple.
Honestly, I would paint your dining room, the same color as your kitchen because it will make your kitchen/dining room look big and bright and it will also make the color of your fridge and dining room chairs pop. And you can add more pops of color with what you decorate with. I really like what you guys are doing. Everything looks really really great.!!! 😊 ❤
Looks SOOOOO GOOOOD!! Love the accent wall idea, too. Coming along really nice, you two!!
Tie in the refrigerator color with the accent wall. Then spread that color through your other decor to make it all cohesive.
You should make it the same color as your refrigerator and do your lower cabinets in the kitchen the same color as the refrigerator so it can all blended together..
Great job with the ceiling and Roger doing supervisory duties! Freddie, your veggies looking great. Best that the color match the fridge 🌻
I like the idea of matching color to fridge. What do you think about a light color on walls to make space appear bigger, but use artwork with colors of the fridge to tie it in??😊
accent wall should match your fridge x
I would go neutral until you get the decoration up and have lived there for a bit. Then get some samples and paint some wood. Look at them during different times of day to see what effect like has on the room. You would be surprised how light changes color. And you do want you room color to accent your decor and not be the overwhelming thing people look at. It you are sitting on your couch and it is distracting you picked the wrong one. I do love the progress you are making now. It's coming together fast. Pretty soon you will be upstairs and then doing the decks front and back. I do hope you make a fabulous outdoor kitchen and seating area.
Match the wall to your fridge! That would look great!
Too monochromatic. Not interesting enough.
Hi from Wisconsin! The white sure does brighten up the house. Love it!
Good morning in the morning from Ciudad del Este, Paraguay 😊
Good morning from Northern California USA 🌹
I was born in Fortuna, California. Humboldt County
Recessed lighting in the ceiling.
Love your videos.
Rodrigo the ceiling is a very good idea 💡..........keep up the good work, I remember your first triangle house, that was brutal......you have learned a lot dude.
Great idea to turn the dining wall into an accent wall. Just an idea, tie in the wood color, the white and the color of your refrigerator?!? Whatever you do, it will be amazing! You both are doing a fantastic job! Much admiration from the US….central Florida! 👍❤️
….perhaps even a little black, if you are keeping some of the black! Inspired by Kaylee and Jordan’s door?!?
You would never know construction was new to you, looks like you were raised up in the construction world. Not only can you build, but I'm impressed with you ability to create what you need, no pattern necessary. You have valuable skills in all areas of construction; and what you don't know you are so eager to learn. You should be very proud and impressed with yourself and your skill.
Hi,from Khartoum,sudan❤
Good morning from Northern California USA🌹
Have yall thought about using the avocado seed to start an avocado tree and yes an accent color would look good, maybe a design where you can still keep with the house colors but can also add color into the design
The white ceiling looks fantastic. I suggest painting the dining room wall a pretty orange or rust color. It would look so nice with the teal/blue refrigerator and the color of your sofa. It would be a nice pop of color and blend nicely with all the pretty trim boards. Just wondering why you didn't insulate the ceiling? Maybe ceilings aren't supposed to be insulated. What the heck do I know.
An accent wall the color of the refrigerator would pop. The new ceilings are lovely!
Perfect Monday morning (in the morning) surprise vlog!
Good morning in the morning🎉 Ceiling is sooo beautiful.
May I share a different thought for the accent wall; it's just an idea. Take a sheet of plywood and cut into 1" slabs. Paint the slabs whatever color you choose. Then install each slab a half inch apart onto the existing wall so that the existing plywood wall color will peak through the slabs, which will be painted in whatever color you choose! This will help to pull the space together yet feel unique.
Maybe on plywood wallpaper? Fancy pattern?
It looks MUCH BETTER with a white ceiling - more finished, more homey & inviting.
Harvest spinach just like lettuce. The house is looking great! So inspiring to see your progress each week!
Hello Rodgrigo, your former ESL mentor here...as you already realize you are the Tarzan of your jungle, however, in order to really fulfill this role, you must buy some 20 lb dumbbells and do 3 sets of 8 reps every day until your bicep measures 16" around the middle....just sayin...:) And, yes, you are welcome...God bless you and your neighbors...good job on the house.
Hi guys. Black and white with a grey tone will look fabulous in the dinning room. Your space is coming along great. Like a floral designed wall paper.
Coming along nicely!
I really can't believe how nice the natural plywood looks.
thanks for sharing 💜🦋💜
Get color swatches at the paint store to bring home to match against the refrigerator.
A 3D wallpaper would be great! Like a field of flowers.
Recessed lights? As for the accent wall color, a darker shade of your refrigerator would be stunning.
I miss how Freddie would say, Good Morning in the Morning. When she would say it like that and the joy she had. It really made my day. I hope someone didn't try and make her think how she said Good Morning was wrong. My Husband and I absolutely love you both. And don't want anyone that is negative influence you. You are the most beautiful person we see. If Freddie wants to say Good morning in the morning we would love for her to say that. It really makes our day.
Yes! I say it now too! We need "Good morning in the morning!" T shirts! ; )
Great job Freddie on your sponsor UFO 3, well done girl. Very informative. You are getting better and better each time you edit a video, loved it......a year from now you will look back and say , I'm good at this....lol 😂
For the color in dinning room a burnt orange. Will make your wood pop. Love you both
As soon as I read your comment I thought YES! If it were my space I would turn the refrigerator toward the kitchen. Create a partial wall/partition behind it. The color of the refrigerator shouldn't be the determining factor of the color palate of the accent walls in the dining area. From three steps back... in my view it would make it feel too monochromatic.
Love the ceiling guys, just love it, what a transformation it does to the home.
I couldn't agree more. I was hoping they would finish the ceiling next. It gives it such a bright, finished look. 😊
On the Accent Wall... I vote for WHITE PAINT, And then put a Beautiful Framed Painting on it !! ❤️
I think you need to find something that matches your refrigerator. Like a blue that would make that wall pop and it would go with the refrigerator. ❤
It would look nice to do the wall the same color as your fridge to blend the look
My thought exactly!!
Why everything looks great
Every improvement you make is creating such a big difference in your home! This is more noticeable as you get your lower level closer to being finished! The type of lights you have in the ceiling are called puck lights in English. Some people call them pot lights, but pot lights are slightly different. I think a color that is in the same tone as your fridge would be nice. But it should be about half as dark as the fridge color. If you picked the same color as fridge, I think you would not like the intensity of the color when you finish painting the two walls. If you make it lighter, then you could add lighter and darker accents in your home that compliment the dining room walls. It is difficult to give you examples of numbers for paint because we don't know what brand is available to you. I love your choices! And the greenhouse is looking great ☺️❤️❤️
I like that idea - of making the color of the dining room wall a similar color to the refrigerator you already chose - but, several shades lighter. Great suggestion @susan1236
You should paint that one wall the same color as your refrigerator or whatever color you are using for kitchen then hang picture frames of all animals on the farm, because they contribute to your food. And/ or just decorate wall, with or without pictures of your animals.
GREAT JOB, HOUSE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL
Feature wall to match the fridge perhaps?
Been Waiting For You Two........Go Freddie !!!!😘😘😘....The Vermonter
Good morning from Northern California 🌹
After thinking about your accent wall for a bit...I wondered if rather than just painting it, creating an art wall with art/paintings/work from artists in Panama. It would be colorful and also honoring the artists from your country.
The place is really taking shape. I'd say paint the wall a light grey.
If you want a cute color for the dinning, go with light gray. Its casual and fancy at the same time
Rodrigo and Freddie! I really enjoy watching your videos! Excellent job and fabulous couple! Regarding the accent wall, you can also consider putting a Tropical theme wallpaper, for example, green leafs 🍃 on a white background.
Guys I think you should feature those walls with stunning paper to break up all the wood and white.there are some stunning exotic jungle patterns..xx
About that accent wall. Get a handful of paints and brushes. Use plastic sheeting and seal off every where around the wall. Give the paints to Sadie to paint that wall however she wants. Then clear coat over it.
green paint lots of green can't go wrong with green. green just seems right
Olive green!!!!
The house is surrounded by green! More of it would be overkill.
Please do that white piece of trim near the stairs, it’s driving me nuts lol 😂❤️🇬🇧
😂😂👍👍🇿🇦🇬🇧
I would definitely incorporate the refrigerator more into the kitchen and not in the dining room. Somehow separate it from looking like there wasn't any room in the kitchen for it. Paint the side wall in the same light grey shade as the upper part of the kitchen to extend the eye's view right down to the small wall. Maybe put a print or small shelving unit on that side wall. Then for the small wall, I would probably put a light but bright, funky designed wallpaper with colors that are drawn from the refrigerator, with a white or light grey background like the kitchen and side wall are painted, making sure there are also small pops of black in the wallpaper design. To make any room look better, you should always add some small details of the color black. A pillow. ottoman, lamp, art frame, etc.
I love the blue that your fridge is! Build a cabinet for your fridge to fit in with the natural wood and stain all your trim is in so it makes a break from the color of your fridge & the accent wall with the same color of the fridge. Look online for the fridge color & see if a paint store can match it, if they can't see if they would go lighter or darker to blend in with the fridge. My favorite color is blue. House is looking awesome❣
You guys are making great progress. Thanks for sharing !!
Yall work SOOO hard! It is very unique and beautiful.
I'd turn the fridge around to face the kitchen, enclose it in a cabinet, keep the walls same as kitchen, for a bigger feel, and art on dining room walls for pop of color. A really nice warm white is Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore.
PINK 🌸 an "old rose" would look great!
The ceiling looks great !
Love your channel very heartwarming. Accent plywood walls could be ‘Wood Stained’ may give a more classy modern vibe than just paint. Various stains.. Charcoal, Blue green or white stain…. See the wood grains
Love all the progress you're making on your home- so Beautiful and super custom!! You can feel veryvery proud for all you've learned during the 4 years you are building your home as it isn't easy doing electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc., with no prior experience. As you go forward, please take time to celebrate & enjoy all you're accomplishing.❤💕🌝
Roger is a total comedian. Sleeping on Freddie's lap in the bed then the box on the sofa😂.
pod lights is what they are called. and you should paint the dining room blue to match the fridge so it kind of blends into the background.
Ooohhhh, love your toaster! Hahahaga.
Had to laugh when Freddie woke up with Roger on her and couldn't move. You do know it's illegal to move a sleeping or very comfortable cat.😺😁 I like the idea of painting the same color as your fridge. You three(Roger included), make the best team!!
that house is going to be so cozy when you two are finished..
I would cut trim pieces and make a design on wood dining room wall. And maybe paint trim same as refrigerator. Make a pattern. Possibly diamond , similar to Jordan's doors . Would look nice as an art piece
Wallpaper those 2 walls. Crazy print. Jungle. Birds. Or something. Dark background. Vinyl wallpaper.
Hello ! I think you should take the same color as the refrigerator & maybe take a lighter shade but of the same color. I think it would be beautiful with a matte surface on the walls in that corner & maybe you can light the walls from below, I think it would be magical. Absolutely do not paint the walls blue because it would destroy the homely & cozy feeling you are creating. Sticking to the same color tones throughout the home makes the whole feeling more peaceful & calm. if you want something to happen with the visuals, you can have paintings with color or cushions on the sofa or carpets & curtains also make it feel lighter & then you can change the curtains & cushions according to the seasons I wish you all the best & good luck with your dream home. hugs from Maria from Sweden😊❤️🙏
I think a mural would look great on the dining area walls. It’s looking great!
A light green color would, blend in with all colors.
I love Blue and wood. A turquoise blue, maybe. But you would need also other blue in the house to tie it all in.
AGREED! Yet I'm thinking more of a sea foam hue.
6151-52 Paint Color From PPG or 6151-63 both would be great. When I used to sell the stuff those both were very popular when that type of colour was requested
Put a lighter color version of the refrigerator to brighten up that dark space. Only paint the back wall.
Re colour: get colour samples (on paper, not the tester samples in a pot) from the paint/hardware store and colour match your fridge and then do the walls a few shades lighter (half/quarter)
ok, I'm with the "fridge blue" type color for that diningroom wall BUT just a lighter shade of that fridge blue is all
You are going to have to get a color that matches your refrigerator.
We said the same thing...lol
I think the same ❤🎉❤
I’ve never seen decorative displays where walls are painted to match the appliances. 😊 Just saying 🤷♀️
I was thinking about something that will go with the fridge and toaster but also is slightly different. They are thinking blue but the appliances are aqua or turquoise and the plants are green. How about a blue-green combination that is more blue than green, like something in the spruce family? They can have the blue they want and still pick up the greens from the kitchen. Definitely will want to take several samples or color cards home and test what the colors look like with the type of lighting that's in the room before buying the paint! Different types of light make paint colors look different and paint can get expensive if you don't like what you bought outside of the paint store.
It doesn't have to match the fridge it should compliment the fridge. Look at a color wheel. It will help you decide.
I vote to match the beautiful roof color for your accent wall. Can't wait to see what you choose.
Boy you and Freddie are really crushing it with the build. I don't know anything about colors everywhere I have lived the walls were white. Love Roger and his love for his box LOL! Also when Rodrigo brought you breakfast he was still asleep on your lap how cute. You guys are such a nice couple building your nest. Until the next one be safe and prosper.
Since most of your house is done in warm colors, how about a light yellow for the dining room. It would make it warmer and lighter also.
BLUE on your roof, refrigerator, AND NOW THAT WALL.
I think a navy blue would look great especially with the fridge
I would keep same color. I think you have enough contrast with walls, black metal and trim. 😘
The color of that wall maybe should compliment the color of the fridge 😊 but apparently, everyone else thinks the same thing 😊
