Christian music peaked during this time. It'll never be the same.

Why can't the "christian" stations play this?!! I can't be the only person saved who listened to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd in high school

Valerie Hill... All about money now, even in the Christian genre. Not for the artist, but the companies. Same in all types of music, rock, pop, it doesn't matter. That's why everything sounds the same.

This was during the time when artist could be artist. This was before studios starting making Christian music all sound the same. These guys were and still are....
I remember in Little Rock they came out dressed like the Beatles of the 60's.
Miss the early contemporary Christian music.

This video right here is the reason why I think Audio Adrenaline could have continued as led by the Burkham brothers after 2006. Tyler doing lead vocals, and his kid brother playing lead guitar. Sure it was nice to see Kevin Max being the lead singer for a couple of years, but it still wasn't true AA with Will being the only original or long term member to return to the fold when the band reformed in 2010. For Mark to allow the band to turn into a supergroup with members from Stellar Kart and Wavorly shows me that he was more concerned with the band staying relevant musically, rather than remaining true to form as they did in the late 90's and early 2000's. Hopefully, the low success rate of the current inception will be a sign to close the doors on Audio Adrenaline so that fans don't get the impression that the name was used for a cash cow.

      Rawk4Life It's not Mark's band. It's Will's.

Through the years Mark fought with Forefront records because they were trying to shape Audio A into what the record company wanted (as record companies are notorious for). There is a podcast with Mark that is filled with good Audio Adrenaline easter eggs, in it he said that their self titled record was their worst. Then you had "Don't Censor Me" (which I think the album title was directed towards the producers) that Barry Blair, the guitarist up to Some Kind of Zombie, Barry said he didn't like the hiphop direction that the band was taking, he later of course was replaced by ya boy Tyler Burkum (I'm a fan of the Burkums too :)... As I said Mark was feuding with the record company and almost got the band dropped from there record deal. Then Big House came out and they started to see the good reception Audio A was getting from this single and decided to keep them on. This brought the company and the band on better terms with each other. Then you have Bloom that was more following the original direction of the band. I can't remember the album Mark's voice started to give but you, you can hear his giving out more from album to album. Then Tyler's voice (smooth as butter, might I add) was a saving grace to the band. Also Ty brought a different taste of rock'n'roll to the band compared to Barry who was more grungy. Underdog was the album I came in on at ?11 years old? and Audio A has held a special place in my heart... yes that sounds cheesy but their music is some of the few in today's world that truly points me to Jesus, but anyways. One thing that I thought was pretty cool I noticed in the Lift booklet was even though Bob Herdman was gone he still helped in the writing of Lift. The band took a hiatus after Worldwide for Mark to take a vocal rest. I imagine this was a good time (as he had more time freed up) and may have been the time when he started The Hands and Feet Project for orphans in Haiti. In the time up to the band departing, somewhere in the interviews, Mark mentions he was wrestling with God about breaking the band up and he didn't want to but in the end he knew his voice was couldn't take anymore and he had this project going in Haiti that he says he could "be a voice for the children there". Mark owns the rights to the name Audio Adrenaline. Then record company saw what the Newsboys did when that Australian singer left and Michael Tait came on as the frontman, then of course Toby Mac has been doing his own thing ever since his album Momentum. Then they contacted Mark to see about bringing Audio Adrenaline back. He was hesitant at first, but after some thought he decided it would be a good outlet to try and spread the word about the Hands and Feet Project. so he made it clear to the record company that Mark has, free reign, for lack of better term. Then they made contact to Kevin Max who was living a rough life in LA after having the attention from the platform that was DC Talk. After that mainstream attention be taken from you (no matter Christian band or not) it can cause people to spiral downward. But yeah they contact Kevin Max and you know Mark, from Underdog, is all about the Underdog and in this case, second chances. So they brought Kevin on, there's a video where he gives his testimony along with him sing Ocean Floor. Then they revamped the band again to I'm not sure what or why. But the Hands and Feet Project is a great one-of-a-kind thing where Mark has the orphanage and more recently he has created jobs for Haitians in this resort called iKondo (pronounced eekondo, probably the language of the Haitians). He is also in partnership with Will from Audio A, who started a company called Haiti Made which also created jobs their. but anyways if you've made it this far, thanks for reading it was a pleasure to write about my favorite band of all time. ps I hope I didn't take away from the meat of these videos shared below.

      - Audio Adrenaline prologue II return of the singer (Kevin Max)
