Very thankful you’re on RUclips. 🙏🏻❤️
Aw thank you brotha. Means a ton
The world is a weird place Ha I found you today Matt because I Found a Polaroid Sx-70 and wanted to know how to use it. It's cool to see my internet friends hanging out
Luv your work
Whatttt Gawx watches this channel? Epic
gawx is hereeeeee two of my favorite youtubersssss in one place woahhhhhh
Thanks brotha! Looks like you got some fans here haha
At first I didn’t know why I started crying about half way through the vid but then I realized that I’m 21 And I’ve watched my parents give up everything they’ve had just to give me a life they never had. And I feel like I’m waisting time not being able to figure out what I want to do because I want them to see me fulfill my goals, and I want to give them the life they deserve. So in a way I found comfort in this video because for a few min I felt like I wasn’t alone in this. so for that thank you and to everyone out there struggling as well, keep pushing, you’re not alone in this, we’re just all going separate paths.
You’ll get there man thank you!
I fucking feel you bro☹️🙂
Ivan, I understand in my own way. I am choosing not to go to university straight out of High School. That's not the traditional path for creatives and was hard to explain the uncertainty I had of my future desires/ambitions.
To realize what you did is an incredible gift. I felt lost. In a way I still do. However, I know stand amongst a forest. I have reached a clearing of my own design and have no doubt you are in your own too... it's simply foggy. The beautiful morning air of the current journey.
"At the end of the day everything is just kind of made up by human beings anyway" - haven't thought of it this way, it definitely takes some of the pressure off all these labels we give ourselves
Thanks man!
I’m underslept, working from home, and am generally exhausted. Seeing this video is helping mellow me out lol. Thanks
Keep going mate💪🏼
Amazing to hear it helps man thank you and take care of yourself!
I absolutely LOVE how genuine you are. No fake high energy, no fast-talking, just sincere, honest advice.
I needed this!
I am 29 and I've been an accountant for 5 years (my college and master degree are in economics).I knew this wasn't for me. I was shown this direction for my life early on because of a family business.
But last year I rediscovered my interest in Photography/Film making because my dream as a child was to become a director (our childhood never lies) so I tried hard to have my work out there and as you said it starter paying off! Slowly I grew up and did paid gigs and despite things like the pandemic I started my own business that I love.
If money was no object like you said, I would certainly do the same and choose the path of photography and arts.
Things look hard when you start, but when you are on your path you have no fear.
Thank you Danny!
I hear you man. Thank you!!
Danny: Nice video. I'm 69 YO, and for me, I never knew what I wanted to do. I just did it. My older brother drug home a stripped down (no wires) pinball machine (this was 50+ years ago), and I was bored and 13 years old. Before you tube, before the internet, and I set out to wire that pinball machine. I just did it, and it worked. So after I graduated HS, I chose electrical engineering for my major, and I just did it. Then when I graduated I went to work for a company that made airplane electronics, and I just did it, and needless to say aviation is much safer today because I decided to do it. Anyway. I think those who are motivated and smart can follow your guide. Anyway, I had a fantastic career, I loved it, and I stumbled into it and did it much better than many who chose that path. It's funny how things turn out.....all too often. regards, Danny
man the struggle of committing to calling yourself a "filmmaker" is so real but so refreshing. good video 🙏🏻
Totally man. Thank you!
totally agreed with your points here! I was lost in my early 20's trying to figure out what I want to do in life, while studying something I didn't like. so I dropped that study and pursued my hobby in making videos, while working non video related jobs on the side (which I really hated I must say) to survive. Late last year I landed a well paying full time job in a really awesome company (I make ads for them). It took long late nights of learning on your own, making stupid mistakes and learning from them, and continue to GROW on a constant basis. I still have a long way to go, but I'm excited to see the path of growth in the coming years.
They "I love you" is making me develop a crush on you. I like it.
I'm a neurosurgeon (no, really) but I call myself a filmmaker in my heart, that's what makes me feel alive. This video was EXACTLYwhat I needed.
You are an inspiration for me bro! Keep going the way you are going! I love your content, and how real you are in your videos. Don’t ever change that, always be who you are. Thank you so much Danny!
Blessings from Peru
No more Monday blues, my boy Danny has got me covered.
Haha thanks brotha!
I've been battling with the process of making this decision. I honestly needed this. I'm in University but for nearly year I've struggled to love the program I'm doing. The problem is, I also am a filmmaker, I identify as a filmmaker or RUclipsr. I have been on that journey of creating for nearly 2 years now and I know that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Unfortunately in my county Zimbabwe, in Africa, that's not a path I can just take (so many barriers), so I've stayed battling it, and I really needed this video. I just need to make that decision and really commit to what I want. ❤
Goodluck brotha! Thank you!
Not doubting they don't exist, but I'm just wondering what the barriers are? I'd love to see some content from Zimbo.
Great advice, man! Just finished my first day of classes- feeling so ignited by what I’m about to learn and so directionless at the same time. Thanks for this!
Man this hits hard!, the self doubt is something i struggle all the time I get major anxiety every time I go to upload a video or even just export it. I love content creation and the joy of creating something from nothing keeps me going.
I would love to someday learn from people like yourself, Matti, Peter McKinnon and all the other great creators on here, I am 5 subscribers away from 500 and its taken me years to get to this point but having people like you and the others to look up to helps me alot to keep going and just keep creating, RUclips is is a brutal place and makes you check yourself at the door.
I asked myself those questions and I want to be a filmmaker, I love the learning aspect of it.
Love your work!
Great video Danny! Really hit the nail on the head, as I can relate to this immensely! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Thanks for this Dan. I’m currently in a transition process too. Been an architect for the past 10yrs, even put up my own firm, but just last year i took a hard look at myself in the mirror and came to terms that as passionate as i was about architecture, it wasn’t really what I wanted to do anymore... for the past year I started spending a lot more time with my cameras, started taking photos and gave making videos a try and I’ve also always wondered ‘what would I tell people now about what I do’ since I’ve always been known as an architect...
This video feels like a big brother giving some really solid advice so thanks for this! I’m migrating soon with my family to a faraway place too very soon and I’m going to have to start thinking about what to write as my occupation on the immigration form! 😂
Another (countless) example of how your videos make me just feel good. The mood you manage to achieve in these videos are just brilliant. To have someone 100% focused on every word you're saying for 7,5 minutes is not an easy task these days, haha. But you manage to. Love your work Danny. You make me want to follow my dreams and also become a better person. Thank you for being you. You're brilliant.
I've had this realization and came to find that I love writing and storytelling. I can't imagine a day that I don't grab my laptop or journal and jot down an idea, concept, or emotion and then sharing it with strangers so that we all become a little less strange to each other. 😊
I really love your style. The unique, relaxed, honest and authentic kind of person. Thanks for starting and continuing your youtube journey!
This is such a great story... I remember how often the occupation question while immigrating on travels always keep confronting me with where I am in life
Thanks brotha! Just pick what you love!
Always amazing seeing what you're up to. We are all on our own journey, thanks for sharing yours in such a beautiful way man.
dude this is so spot on. with each phase and season of life. it's simply decided and putting your heart into it.
Danny, this is an awesome message man. Your process is inspiring and I appreciate you!
Spot on man! There's so much untapped power and confidence waiting for us when we finally let ourselves self-identifying in what it is we really want to do and not let fear of others' judgements hold us back. Hell, it's literally the stage I am working through right now and feeling confident enough to call myself a photographer. Thanks for such a good mood-lifting video this week!
This is so relatable. I often feel uncertain about what identity I want to pursue. But when I just do the things I love doing, my feelings of identity fall into place naturally. Great video :)
Been teaching myself video editing and shooting for the last three years. I've reached the point where I'm applying to video editing jobs. The rejections and ghosting from employers isn't a great feeling. Pursing a passion and learning a skill is difficult when you also have to work a 40 hour job and have other life responsibilities. But I know that I can't stop learning, I can't stop creating and eventually this will all pay off. I owe a lot of my motivation to you Danny. Thank you for these inspirational videos. I know first hand that they have a profound impact on your audience.
I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not I want to play football or not and after watching this you helped me make my decision, I am a filmmaker and today is the day I will stop being afraid to go all in. You have inspired me beyond what you know
Thank you for this. I needed it. And acted on it. You're an inspiration, your words encourage and bear fruit that I really needed. God bless
Honestly not sure I've ever left a RUclips comment before but this struck a chord for me. Danny as someone who's graduating in a 2 weeks and now doing something they never thought could be possible doing (videography professionally) this came at an important time. This is such great advice and something I always need to remind myself as well. The imposter syndrome is real in this field but I know someday I'll get there. Thanks for being a constant inspiration, these words meant something great
This breakdown of awareness is personal development!
Personal Development is the relationship with yourself that helps you provide clarity to who you are and what you really want!
Great video bro. Honestly, this is very relatable. I've been asking myself this same question. Thanks for this. Loved it
Videos like these mean more than you can know! Thank you for what you do man! Taking a step back and reminding ourselves how simple life can be with just one question
Definitely. Thank you!
This channel is pure gold when it comes to filmmaking and even more when it comes to life advice in general. Dude, you have no idea how much of an impact you have with your videos! Thanks for everything. Huge fan of yours since the beginning of 2020. Keep creating. Greetings from Germany:)
Aw man so amazing to hear thank you!
Just discovered your channel! Really appreciate these kinds of videos! Very encouraging as I am also on the journey of trying to be full time on RUclips and doing music!
Great video, Danny. I once read that even if you work a day job and what you really want to be is your side hustle, identify as your side hustle. I work in a library as my day job, but think of myself as a filmer who works in a library to pay the bills, not as a librarian who works on the side as a filmer.
This is honestly a really helpful video for people struggling with what they want to be. It starts with believing in yourself and telling yourself that you are that thing you want to be
You are literally the breath of fresh air on youtube.
From all the click bait and all the shock-provoking videos out there ... I swear your videos feel like your just sitting on a rooftop with your buddy and just ... Being
Stay original and awesome !
Always amazing lessons and take always from your videos, thanks brotha!
always so inspiring! Love you man! thanks for this!
I recently got involved at my church doing camera work during worship service. We don't do things on tripods it's all handheld with a pocket cinema 4k and it turns out I'm actually really good at it. Films have always been something I'm passionate about, with the creative process, actually getting the shots, editing, ect. If I ever went back to school it would be for filmmaking also. Well I've decided I want to invest in a camera but it's a little more pricey but it's what I'm set on...now I'm just trying to figure out how to get it. Thank you for this video, friend. I'm only just now stumbling upon your channel but it's when I needed to hear it the most. You've earned a sub!
That came at the perfect time! Love how you simplified this. Thanks my man 🙏
this made me smile, I came out of this wanting to create and being less scared of what I want (80% of the barriers I face with goals are mental) - appreciate this message :)
So glad to hear that Sneha! Thank you!
There is something genuine and magical about creators! I love it!
I totally get this. I hate labels let alone labelling myself. This video is on point. Thank you!!
Love the sincerity I feel from your thoughts and videos man! Thanks for sharing your stories! 💯✔️🙏
This is what I needed to hear right now, thanks for inspiring Dany! 🙏 ❤️
Let's go, Dude! Needed this. Love this!
Loved this video! A side note to add from personal experience, if your dream is to be self-employed in any form of work, it can be incredibly difficult & stressful, and it will force you to grow A LOT personally. On the other hand, it’s also the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done, and I wouldn’t change a single second of it
Thank you for this. It's so refreshing seeing a creative that talks about what matters. We can only watch so many unboxing videos...
You are consistently one of the most transparent filmmakers and it blesses me every time! I hope to be able to encourage and inspire people as well you do! Thank you as always!
I can really feel your love to what you are doing! Gosh I’m greatly moved by this video!
Danny, thank you so much for your videos. I appreciate your honesty where as a lot of people always make it seem so easy and like they got it figured out. I guess no one every got it figured out completely and you remind me that this is just so very human. Keep on doing what you do and never stop making those self doubt jokes! Love ya too!
"put cream in your coffee if you want to" just made my day lol.
Haha my girlfriend inspired that quote
@@DannyGevirtz dude this is why you're the best haha - also, I'm buying your Moment cinematic lighting course after a client pays me later this week. Keep killing it man!
Great outlook! People really need to understand that it just takes a little bit of love and perseverance! 👍🏼 great job! 🤙🏼
I feel like you’re literally looking into my life and giving me solid advice. I don’t think there are many RUclipsrs that give their viewers as much as you do bro. Love you.
Inspirational as always! Love your work Danny!
At 26years old and teaching for 4 years I’m making the switch to filmmaking ! Those three questions and many other events this past year have pushed me to make this decision.
Thanks for that I needed to hear this bc I am still struggling with this in my life and I needed those questions.
this is so encouraging for me in this state of my life. im in my first year of film school and finally pursuing this dream fully. thank you for everything you make bro
SUPER inspiring and encouraging message, man. THANK YOU!
Am exactly at this point in my life where I am searching who I really want to be and I stumbled on a camera not not that long ago but maaaan life is playing me in such a mysterious way. Living on a small island in Belize where we can't walk in to stores and purchase gear, is a struggle. Either someone has a piece of gear they never used(rarely seen) or just wanting to sell for an upgrade, so happened how I got my first drone(Mini) and life played me yesterday. Crashed in the water not far from me and magically disappeared. Couldn't find it, next, my mic jumps out of my bag str8 into salt water while I was sitting alone watching the sunset. Beautiful evening but life did its way for a reason.
Sorry for my rant. Just thought about expressing it here.
Great work and I truly respect and appreciate the good vibes to us watching you :)
Thank you, great work. It inspires me to carry on, and yes, great tip is to identify yourself with who you percieve yourself to be - not be afraid to make first step, then carry on step by step to fulfilling your dream.
Watching your videos each week are a staple in my weekly routine! Awesome video!
It was a rough start to the morning here in CO. Really simplified it in a way that DIDNT make me feel dumb and Definitely gave me a bout of confidence
Well bro you have managed to get me addicted to your videos but especially your messages, I love what you're trying to do here and please keep it up
You have just reminded me on that moment being on the plane when I've asked myself the same think before filled out arrival card! Awesome!
Thank you! Very soulful words of advice!
Love this boost of inspiration every week. Thanks for being you, Danny! 🙌
Thanks Dan!
sending love danny, these are my kinda videos. youre an inspiration
Honestly, man, thank you. You bring this incredible energy to all of your videos. I know you love to have them feel dark and moody, but with your personality and delivery, it contrasts perfectly because you're so warm, honest, and inviting. Keep up the amazing work and inspiring those around you.
Thanks so much again brotha!
@@DannyGevirtz got you brother. Keep up the amazing energy, it’s truly so positive and infectious.
Hi, Danny. Every time I watch ur new video, u inspire me, and it keeps me continuing pick up my 6D and shoot, and edit, and creating. Very thankful you’re on RUclips!! 2021, better and better!!!
Thanks so much brotha!
I just watched the video about documenting your life and now I'm watching this and feeling SO inspired. Keep creating things, you're amazing 🙏🏼
So amazing to hear that thank you!
You're a legend Danny - thank you for sharing all your thoughts and humble experiences.
love this man, needed it. stay blessed brother
Thank you for posting this man. You're a big inspiration
Love your videos man, very uplifting and motivational
This video spoke to me as a graduating college student. The world truly is not black or white anymore, anyone can do anything. The only prerequisite is work ethic. I am going to spend this summer trying to master photo and video editing as I really want to be a professional creative. Life is what you make it, don't waste anytime. Start now. Let's get after it everyone!
Man your videos are a breath of fresh air! Probably one of the very few youtubers' whose videos I can really relate with. Helps a lot with my struggles! Thanks for everything!
A video I needed to hear 🧡👊🏾 thank you Danny!
I agree with everything you said in this video... except the part about the cream in the coffee. 😁
Love the minimalist background with the cameras and backpack hanging, the light angled down, and the plants for foreground. Simple, elegant, and fitting to the tone of this video. As always great work.
Haha thank you man!
Very inspirational. Thanks Danny!
Thank you, bro. You always inspire. I love making nature videos. I have no expectations of who might see them and where this might lead. I’m happy making them for me. If no one sees them, I’m content because I created something. If someone else enjoys them, that’s just an added bonus. Love your work, man.
Thanks so much man!
Thanks for the inspiring message Danny 🙌
Really appreciated this video. Being very young into the whole film making world is something I always wanted to dive deep into it. I’m currently in a job that pays pretty well but it’s not what I want. Honestly, I’ve felt as if I’m neck deep in mud trying to sprint. I know though, that my occupation will be what I want it very soon. Thank you Danny ✨
Thanks, man! Thank you for putting this video out. It inspired me to do what I love. Love and Support!
Amazing thanks brotha!
Amazing video!! with ab big message. Thank u very much!
You are such an inspiration and what you are doing with your RUclips channel is really special. Thank you, Danny. 💜
Thanks so much brotha!
Thanks for this. Actually this 'I am something' feeling hit me for the first time at the end of last year. It pushed me even more to make creative content and be the 'creator' I always aspired to be.
need to hear this frequently, you have the passion, that should be enough 🔥
Those words are what people need to hear actually, I think that most important thing is to decide to act finally act.Life to short, well done man again!
Thank you for the encouragement
I always feel so good after watching ur videos!! Love it
Having moved to a new area, Detroit. I definitely have a lot of self doubt about being a filmmaker. I needed this video! Thanks Danny for spreading the love.
Love you too!
keep spreading positivity!
Thank you Danny.. I really needed this video.. You're awesome ☺👌
Awesome, Danny...... a nice lift to my day
this came at the right point, perfectly - i was thinking about this today. thank you
Wow so inspiring! Thank you for this.✨
