And he and Bernard Edwards wrote killer riffs for, and interplayed with, the rest of Chic, like Rob Sabino's piano on "Spacer" (Sheila & B. Devotion), the Chic Strings tearing it up on "He's the Greatest Dancer" (Sister Sledge)", Tony Thompson's iconic drums on "I'm Coming Out" (Diana Ross), etc. A musical giant!
And the Chic Strings ("He's the Greatest Dancer"), and Rob Sabino's piano ("Spacer"), and Raymond Jones on electric piano, Sammy Figueroa on percussion (the tubular bells on "I Want Your Love"!), the horn players, and of course the vocalists. Nile and 'Nard were the nucleus but there was so much talent tightly orbiting ⚛️.
Not simply a great guitarist but a brilliant musician.
