I cant remember where i heard this line. I just remembered, it was buggs bunny after he had been hit by a bull. " OF COURSE U KNOW, THIS MEANS WAR ! " My Father (RIP) would always laugh when buggs said this line. Ex-Army in the late 50s i guess it sparked something in him. Sence he was a kid when Pearl Harbor happened.

This is similar to another story. Feels like copying someone else's story. And soldiers/sailors/marines/airmen don't wear medals on a work uniforms. And they already know why he's there. Author never served.
Moments like "your planet is rich in resources and that's all that matters" + "humans formed trade agreements for the resources they needed to continue expanding" kill entire stories for me.
Which is it? Are they rich and that's all that matters in the galaxy or do they need to trade to continue as they don't have the resources otherwise?

My post is not even an argument to be responded to as it is a "report of an emotional state" and not a logical argument with any point or position. so your response contextually is a non sequitur.
To clarify I never stated that this is unrealistic, or would not happen or anything of the sort, my statement was about me reading a FICTIONAL story, and not liking the contradiction in the FLOW and MEANING of the words being used to explain the story to me by the AUTHOR. Not the content of the internal fictional story piece.

If so what is your justification for that being the authors intent?
If I wanted a justification I'm more then smart enough to come up with one on my own. The fact that I can point out the event in question implies that. I can even come up with ones that don't require the humans to be scum, like different types of resources that are not in the sol system and the need for trade.
I do apricate the sentiment of providing an answer to a potential question, even if threw miscommunication it was unnecessary, so from that stand point,

yup. It's like the 3rd alteration of the og story and the worst at it. Names changed and making even less sense. "Launching 100k at the human ship. Targeting human cities etc" So what is it 1 single human ship or actually a 100k cities on Earth?
I thought the holding off to confirm help was actually a good thing. It kept with the theme of hopelessness and built anticipation. If they already told them they would help then that whole part wouldn't be as dark and dreary. Idk just my opinion.

Welp, that AI can't draw faces any better than hands. I didn't know what ice talks were, and I didn't know the Dolan skied. The narration was about as good as the artwork and story incongruencies.
But, 73's to you, 88's to the pretty one, 22's to the little ones, 44's to the four-legged kind. And put a 10-100 on the bill collector for us. If you know what it was I said, good for you. I'm 10-7.

It really should have been a red flag when they told us that the Sun is 93 million miles away and that the Moon is only 240 thousand miles away. And that it is only by some ridiculously impossible coincidence that they just happen to look the exact same size.
But the real giveaway should have been when they told us that everything came from nothing along time ago when…nothing exploded. And that's how we all got here, because a long time ago…nothing exploded.
You can see your reflection perfectly in a puddle of water, at the bottom of a well and in a calm lake. If the Earth was in any kind of motion then the puddle would have ripples in it. The Earth is not in motion, it is at rest.
How can internal gravity from Earth be pulling down on the waters, while external gravity (like the Moon) be pulling up on that same water all while the Earth is in motion without causing so much as a ripple ?
The flat earth deniers will tell you that it's the force of gravity that forces the waters to be still. And then they will turn around and tell you that it is gravity that causes the tides to rise. Do you see how liars always have to have everything both ways ? And when they lie about one thing, then they have to lie about everything, because it's all connected.

But the thing is, they are not based on silicon (as what would come from a volcano) They are based on carbon, the same as ourselves. And when we see or film further away then we should be able to, they call it a mirage. And how is it, that it was the Dark Ages that gave us our greatest architecture ?
Every observation that we make, they instinctively disagree with. They want to make themselves appear wise by making us feel meager and lacking in intelligence. They want to promote their godless science and create their own perverted universe by demolishing common sense and any thoughts of Creation. And it will never be good enough for them to just simply fool us. No, they have deep desires to make fools out of us, over and over again.
They know that if they make the world a really horrible, horrible place for us to live in, then the common people will start to think that God has forsaken them. Eventually, man will start to believe that God isn't even real. Or through ignorance and bitterness completely, turn against him, altogether.
But the truth will never go away, nor will it ever change. And matter was divinely designed to bring Man back to God.
Isolation does have it's upsides, you're not making friend but you're not making enemies either. Enemies that could potentially get their hands on thing you send to fight them.
