#Squier #Epiphone #guitarmanifesto - Видеоклипы
The EB 3 is more versatile sound wise... and it's better looking lol.... so that's what i went with and i love that i can use it in all 3 of my bands
Recently i bought the Jaguar bass its amazing for guitar players and if you are offset guy thats the best you can get, nice video
Thanks dude, totally agree great bass to convert over from guitar and looks so freaking cool too 🎸😎
Thanks for this clear demo. A good balance between descriptions and playing, and it's good that you've kept the riffs short in length to allow easy comparison between the two guitars. I wish more demos were like this.
Thank you very much glad you like the video, I try to keep the demos BS free and straight to the point 🎸😎
Watching this again since I bought a Squier VM Jaguar SS used on eBay and did you open with "No Woman, No Cry" on the P bass pickup?
So that sounds like a really good comparison. I'd say it's a matter of your playing style and preference. The jag bass had more mids presence and honk, but they did not nearly have as much full bottom end as the Epiphone. But I personally do love the middle position of the single coil basses (mainly jazz basses), and the Squier certainly got there for me.
Agreed brother I prefer the Jag all round
I'm considering getting one of these basses, not sure yet. I'm listening to a bunch of videos because all the guitar shops are closed for the coronavirus pandemic. Thank you for playing "No Woman No Cry" because I plan to use it for reggae, '70s funk, and Afropop.
It's a crazy time that's for sure, glad the video helped you 👌🎸
By the way, what string gauges were on the basses at the time, since I remember you mentioning the issue when you first unboxed it.
Nothing a quick setup didn't fix, the e sting was way low to the body.
I will give them a good clean at some point they'll sound like new after that
Just bought my first bass, a used EB3 in pretty good condition, needs new selecter knob and a machine head repair/replacement, for $100 Aus (around $70US/60EUR) pretty happy with the buy now that I've seen the comparisons and reviews.
Ah nice sounds like a good project and it's an awesome bass, enjoy 😎🎸👌
I have a Jaguar in the regular scale. It's my all time favorite bass.
Awesome bass guitars 😎
I own both, the Epi sort of gets lost when playing with my friends, where the Squier cuts through better. But I love the way the Epi plays and the sound is so unique, I just enjoy it through headphones.
The Squier short scale looks gorgeous ...and a Happy 21st birthday to Melody :)...oh thats a thing , have you heard of "Fat Rat" amps Rob ?...there covered in what looks like green fuzzy felt...great for collecting dust...lol
The Jag does look awesome, ah yeah I remember them bass amps they still make em?
Happy 23rd birthday Melody , not 21st :) :) :)
The Squier i LOVE , i,been looking for 1 on Amazon , but can't seem to find one , plenty on Ebay , but the lass that usually orders my gear only use's Amazon...
They're great basses drew
I could you see playing some Nirvana bass lines with the Squier Jaguar...
Oh yes 😎🎸
@@theguitarmanifesto
Or me, being a Bass player. 😂😎
Great starter bass being short scale and look cool as fuck
@@theguitarmanifesto
Aye.
Hi Rob i've just bought me a Lindo bass in purple dove 2nd hand from M.O.R £149...now all i need is an amp :)...collect tomorrow , nice one :)
Ooh nice great colour too
I couldn't resist it , this is what i love about your channel Rob , it was either another guitar...but i really do miss my bass , even unplugged i love em :)
You need a bass in your life for sure, glad you love that channel Drew 😎🎸
What amp are you using Rob ???
Garageband dude 😎🎸
Epi sounds good but the short scale squier Definitely kicks Ass so Piece Out and Rock On Rob!!!🎸🎸
Right on the money there Tim the Jag is awesome
Too bad the Epi EB0 isn't nearly as good as the Epi EB3.
The bolt on neck always comes out tops for me :)
Agreed 😎
Can't beat a good old "Part-caster" :)
Oh i love the look of the Squier , my Lindo should be here today , hopefully Lynne and Lloyd will sort a me out with an amp , i'll let you know when it / they arrive :)...i keep saying NO more guitars , looks like its gonna be bass guitars now :)
The Squier is so cool even more so as its short scale, that Lindo looks dope as fuck love the paint job I may have to review one very soon.
Be awesome if they fix you up with an amp
you only live once Drew \m/
Can't find the short scale Jaguar anywhere!
I really want to buy one :/
The vintage modified jaguars are now discontinued used only now unless it's new old stock
Are all Squier short scale discontinued?
What's the best short scale bass in this price range?
@@towfiqz zzounds has the classic vibe jaguars for $399. As of March 2020.
I could be wrong but it kind of sounds to me likt the Epi has new strings and the Squier does not...
Nope it's just the difference in tone of guitars
@@theguitarmanifesto cool, I think I expected the Squier one to have more of that "metalic" sound than the Epi, but it was the oposite...
Yeah it's quite beefy
Great vid brother , luv the Jag a lot , a lot tighter more pro sound imo,,,,,,for the money 💰
Yeah I agree the Jag sounds like the real deal, it's my budget bass of choice
I don’t know how the scales look in person. But I saw a massive difference in the neck length, the Epiphone 34 inch looks massive (my usual guitar is a Epiphone Les Paul standard, so used to smaller neck guitars anyway haha)
Good looking, but Squier wins price-wise
Soundwise - with plectrum, the epiphone sounded better and warmer,
Without the pickup, the normal 3 positions at the start. I couldn’t tell a difference in the sound
I think if I would try bass, I would get the Squier. Because of the neck size mostly and the price. Both sounded good but Epiphone a little better only when playing with a plectrum. But without one you’re good either way 👍👌🌙
The Epiphone is 4"s longer and it sticks out further from the body so looks even longer
I would choose the Squier cos it looks awesome and is cheaper
Plays and sound better too 🎸😎
Certainly different from each other.
The Epiphone has more depth to its sound?
But the Epi doesn't grab me.
I seem to be more of a Fender/Squier and Yamaha man.
It could be the Epi had fresh strings on it but I like the fat tone of the Jag
Yeah that’s how I feel
William Taylor aren’t you in the guitar geek group ? I’m James Jay Jimmy.
@@jay_thedog_man5169
Aye, that I am.
William Taylor I knew your named seemed familiar. Cool to see we have the same taste in awesome RUclipsrs.
I have both ironically idk why i’m so shocked about this video lol
It's beyond me why Epiphone don't make a short scale like the Gibson.
The Epi EB0 is a SS.
@@bflo1000 It only has neck pickup.
@@nealdewar9959 I realize that. I had one that I bought cheap. It was lame so I unloaded it fast.
@@bflo1000 Gibson won't let it happen because of pricing. I got gifted the Epi Eb3 Ls. If I only knew then what I know now. Stay safe mate 👍
@@nealdewar9959 Thanks
Just been looking at a Vox "Pathfinder" 10 watt bass combo for 80 quid , i reckon its probably better than a 50 watt that costs the same , unless you've got any other suggestions Rob...cheers :)
Sounds pretty good to me, I know the Fender rumble amps are good as are the Orange bass amps bit more expensive mind
i thing that the jaguar is better
The Epiphone with flatwound strings would give the Squier a run for the money. Can't compare the two with different strings. Epiphone your using has roundwound strings. Not one put roundwound on EB3 in the ,1960' went it was popular.
Same could be said with flats on the Jaguar, just what sounds best to your ear. I do like Flatwounds on basses and the Jaguar is one of my favourites
First thing I did when I got my EB3 was to put on a set of flatwounds. And another tip for a great sound I've found is to place a thin piece of sponge between the minihumbucker and the bridge.
Guess my ears are different than many people. If you want the mid boost presence play guitar...but a bass should sound like a bass so I prefer the lower end of the EPI. I can get the Squier sound from my LP and to an extent from my PRS is I use heavy stings and back the tone down. I am a guitar/sax/keyboard player that wanted an affordable bass for my studio. But I want it to handle the lows. Plenty of mids and highs with my other gear.
The tuning on a bass is an octave lower than a guitar so not sure how that works bro?
Can't intelligently reply to this. You are right on the tuning but when I am mixing I don't want the bass walking all over the other parts. Personal preference.
Fair enough
Have still got this Rob ? the Squier
I still have the Squier Jag bass
i'll email you , nice one Rob :)
Ok mate
Oh the 3 cracks in my laptop screen , i can't see a thing it'd be a lot easier if you were up in the York area , cash in hand later on this week :)
i'd even pay for the petrol money :)
Ah just figured out what this sounds like Nick Cave and the bad seeds "Mutiny in heaven" !!!
Ah cool 🎸😎
Dive. Nice.
They both sound good but the epiphope sounds more dark. I guess it’s more muddy and nasally would be the best way to describe it. The Jag has more clarity. I think we both know which one I prefer 😂
The birthday shot out was cool too. I saw him ask you if you’d do that in the comments. 👍
I aim to please fellow Meatonians :)
For me the Jag wins much better punch to it
I have the Squire with the short scale, actually i like any Squire guitar, i then go to my original 67 Hofner which i cant gig with due to its high value, i compare the Squire Jaguar sound with my Fender American Precision Bass which has the standard scale , excellent review , thanks !
oliver harmon Dude any Bass can be gigged regardless of the value!!
when you have a immaculate vintage bass of 2500 usd you dont want to be gigging with it, there is such a thing as theft, damage etc. anyway thanks Tim
Just use it dude what its made for regardless of a few grand \m/
The EB3 has more gain & sustain, despite the crappy bridge.
You are the youtuber Can i get a shot out i have birtday
Yes most definitely :) as long as I make a video on the day :)
How come somones using my pic ???
You've lost me on that one
Some one calling themselves MOLE MOLE , talking utter rubbish :(
@@shellydrew100 on this video?
Yep , and i was really pissed off with whoever it was :(
I can't see the comments ?
When i 1st stated playing bass i thought i'll get a book on how to play bass...what a total load of rubbish , "never use a pick , or thumb "...made for a good fire , its like any musical instrument , for me break ALL the rules and have fun :)
I came strum quicker and more accurate with my thumb than fingers, fuck what anyone says do whats most comfortable there is no rule book just hipsters
Nope. Definitely don't like the Epiphone.
I'll try and get some strings for the Jag
Oh the price of bass strings , well i'll try not busting mine :)
the short scale strings are way expensive
What amp are you using Rob ?
Garageband bro
