Very informative video guys.

GREAT EPISODE! Super informative!!!
Thanks Doc, we tried to cover all the basics. We are doing a Part2 Items/equipment needed for the French canals and rivers....coming very soon 💯
I love google translator! lol 🤣

@@gooddeedssailingI've used it myself on occasions a great tool Google translate

Glad you think so!
Very informative, great video, great to help others planning the same trip x😊
Thanks Jo, glad you enjoyed it 😘
Really useful to have all that information in one place. I'll bookmark it! Thank you 👍
Thanks for the fantastic feedback Simon, we are so pleased you will use it as a 'return to' video, thanks 👍
Great video. Seems like the book is a must have for the canals. It’s interesting how Google maps is so useful even for the transit. I imagine it’s needed at the stops as well for groceries, restaurants, etc.
Hi Rod, the book definitely is a must have and Google maps we uses on a daily basis also and would often look ahead to find a place to stop within walking or cycling distance of a grocery shop or petrol station.
Great stuff
Thanks Nigel 👍
Grat blog vary interesting 😂
Thanks Nigel, we tried to keep this episode straight to the point, without having to watch minutes of footage before getting to the important parts.
Best wishes from us for 2025
Thanks to both of you and Happy New Year. Very interesting update on information for me, still the basics but modern technology has come on at great leaps in the last 10 years.
Thanks for the feedback Barry, we tried to keep this episode as basic and to the point as we could, no having to watch minutes of unnecessary footage. Glad you understood the concept 👍
Best wishes from us for 2025
Excellent information. Michael E. Briant (sailing gently RUclips channel) has videos about the canals with a guide book
Yes we watched his channel a few times, some great info there as well 👍 thanks for the comment 🙂
Thanks for taking the time to produce an informative & useful video.
What would you say was the item you didn’t have with you but wished you’d brought along? Similarly, what item did you bring but actually didn’t really end up using?
Merry Christmas & all the best for 2025!
Another great comment Peet, you just guessed another episode 😁 25m mooring lines, we never used them as much as we thought we would but still came in handy on occasions and we should have taken a board of some kind to use as a gangplank. Much more detail in an upcoming episode.
@ great! Thanks.
Thank you guys for your precious suggestions, but I didn’t understand where you are now?
Hi, at the moment we are in Hyeres, France and will continue to slowly make our way around the coast to Italy.
Hey Guys. Been away for a while so just catching up on all your vids. I know you mentioned insuranvce cover but I was wondering what insurance cover or level of cover you have?
Hi there, how've you been? We will check our insurance policy and get back to you. We know it is with Craftinsure and has been for many years. Happy New Year!!
@@gooddeedssailing All good here thank you and very happy new year to you both. Yes, let me know! Take care.
OK, a brief description of our insurance cover, as there's a lot of clauses.
Territorial Scope: Ashore or Afloat on inland and coastal waters of the UK, Fire and the Continent of Europe, Brest to the river Elbe, including inland continental waterways.
Accident Damage & Theft cover: the insurer will pay for the physical loss or damage to Good Deeds whilst ashore or afloat, being lifted, hauled out or launched, or in transit by road within the UK (provided by a proffessional haulier if over 30ft in length)
There's a lot of other clauses 'what's not covered' outboards, items onboard with a value over £250 etc.
But a pretty good policy for the price and covers what we need for now anyway.
@ Thanks for that. Interesting to know.
@shotmegoo4032 no problem
