Both are correct. He does use alternate picking even in the River Plate video version, but he also can play and does play one handed. The sharp staccatto of the notes is from plucking with your fretting hand and he also displays this during the first part of the video when the camera is looking down the neck, no right hand in play. However, there are several places in the video where he is not playing what you are hearing at the time. He is in the wrong position on the neck in a few spots and this was not a live recording.
He only does it for the video, actually. When he plays it live, he is ALWAYS picking every note...including the open ones. The intro is a great way to practice coordination on the guitar when you're first learning.
@@HRConsultant_Jeff It's just for the video. he NEVER plays it with just hammer-ons and pull-offs. check out any live version here on youtube....there's probably a thousand different versions from different concerts over the years. he picks every note in every show.
One can argue that he sounds better falling down the stairs. Angus once said that he sucked standing still. He had to move around to sound good. I think he's right,.
....he does...literally. Check out Let There Be Rock Live from Donington. There's a part during his extended solo where he goes out in the crowd and gets up on an elevated platform. While on the platform, he falls down and spins around like Curly from the Three Stooges....all while NEVER missing a note while playing.
You sir are rare. You are totally honest in a respectful way. Most reactioners are phoney and a lot of the audience senses that. Thank you sir Thank you for keeping our music alive
Pretty much every AC DC song is a party song. I would suggest any of the following "Highway to Hell", "Back in Black", You Shook Me all Night Long", "Dirty Deeds", "Hells Bells", "For Those About to Rock". Pretty much any live song of theirs from Live at Donington, or Live at River Plate (both with huge crowds of 70,000 plus people).
Chuck berry originated that move but Angus took it to a whole new level. AC/DC Were heavily influenced by black rock n roll. Bon Scott was inspired by little Richard too.
These guys spent 40 years cranking out albums that were cover-to-cover BANGERS. You could pretty much pick any of their albums, put it on at a party... and just let it play. There were no bad songs, and it was all party music.
Try the 70's when they began with Bon Scott. This band never got better they were always brilliant & it never changed they just got older & kept doing it.

Yeah the "duck walk" was invented by Chuck Berry. Angus Young merely borrowed it and turned it up to 11. Early AC/DC was essentially 1950's Rock N Roll that was a bit harder and faster, with some 70's sound added in. The band changed significantly in 1980 with "Back in Black" with their new singer Brian Johnson and moved to a "harder" sound. This is AC/DC in their prime. Check out some of the clips of the 1991 "Donnington Live" concert. They were already a huge band by then but they had fallen on some hard times in the 80's with Brian Johnson's vocal issues and Malcolm Young's alcoholism. This is their first major comeback and this album and that concert made them legends.
These were rock adrenaline era..late 70s early 80s. Rock was changing. I was 17, full of life, a cheerleader and danced all over my high school football field to acdc, queen, any many other greats with my pom poms, very short cheer dresses and complete love for my generation's music. Welcome to the rabbit hole called AC/DC. Go listen to ANYTHING from their River Plate concert and you won’t be disappointed. Everything they play is a “party song “ as you put it!!!🎸🎸🎸😍😎
Bob Scott the original lead singer of AC/DC with his band went to a bar and saw Brian Johnson singing and he told the rest of his band if I die this is who I want to replace me. That’s how he got his job!
I named my dog Angus just cause Angus Young rules so much if you more reactions you'll realize you've heard A LOT of acdc songs be it tv shows, games, or movies.
Interesting story about the lead singer, Brian Johnson - after the original lead singer Bon Scott passed away and the band decided to release one last album, they were searching for a new singer. Passing by a rock club, they heard Brian singing inside. They had never heard anything like it. Brian himself said in an interview, "I had appendicitis and I was in fucking agony!" Thus, out of tragedy a legend was born.
My voice sounds like his I've heard chicks dig it. It surprises people. I rapped the raspy one in band. Cool u understand the lyrics. Very nice reaction video. Ty

It amazes me how few people don't notice Angus is playing the intro with one hand.

My guy knows about the duck walk and it’s origins. Alright welcome to the brotherhood of rock. You can never leave
Song was in Deadpool 2 (the parachute from the helicopter) and Battle ship... right after the line: “Need to borrow your boat.”
He plays that opening on the guitar with only one hand. You see his other one is up in the air. Crazy

Many hockey teams play the beginning of this song when they first hit the ice to warm-up before the game starts. It gets the crowd amped up.
Rock really is about good time.
This song was used in the movie Battleship
The song was about their plane getting hit by lightening on their way to Dallas for a concert....
And yes Angus Young (the lead guitar) got it from Chuch Berry

Lyrics
Thunder, thunder, thunder, thunder
Thunder, thunder, thunder, thunder
Thunder, thunder
I was caught
In the middle of a railroad track (thunder)
I looked 'round
And I knew there was no turning back (thunder)
My mind raced
And I thought, what could I do? (Thunder)
And I knew
There was no help, no help from you (thunder)
Sound of the drums
Beating in my heart
The thunder of guns
Tore me apart
You've been
Thunderstruck
Rode down the highway
Broke the limit, we hit the town
Went through to Texas, yeah, Texas, and we had some fun
We met some girls
Some dancers who gave a good time
Broke all the rules
Played all the fools
Yeah, yeah, they, they, they blew our minds
And I was shaking at the knees
Could I come again, please?
Yeah, them ladies were too kind
You've been
Thunderstruck, thunderstruck
Yeah, yeah, yeah, thunderstruck
Ooh, thunderstruck, yeah
I was shaking at the knees
Could I come again, please? Oh
Thunderstruck, thunderstruck
Yeah, yeah, yeah, thunderstruck, thunderstruck
Yeah, yeah, yeah, said, yeah, it's alright, we're doin' fine
Yeah, it's alright, we're doin' fine, fine, fine
Thunderstruck, yeah, yeah, yeah
